I have a similar issue with a iPhone X, the ribbon has torn in the same place and the ear speaker has stopped working. I’d like to try and fix this myself using your technique. What is the paste you are using before you solder, is that flux?

I just attempted this repair. phone now heats up instantly and shows temperature warning. purchased 12 pro max with bad loudspeaker. replaced it myself for $20. broke screen cable when reinstalling. $100 for new screen. changing screen I tore this proximity sensor/face id cable. my deal on an inexpensive simple fix 12 pro max now has over the cost of a new phone and it's still not working. thank you for posting the video. not sure what I'm doing wrong with the solder.

@@MotivBeats haha. I ended up getting it working. new cable. moved sensor. face ID was solid for two months. everything worked mint. then randomly one day it said not working. I've moved on.
I done the same with mine, loud speaker broke and I damaged when replacing the speaker, bought a new screen and I broke the flexible cable from the Face ID. Now I’m looking how to fix it. 😂😂
@@Bobby_-_ I was able to get a new Chinese cable. swapped the prox sensor with a heat gun and it worked!! solid performance for 3months. one day face ID just stopped working. just bought another phone and put this one in a drawer. 🤣
