Just went to that subreddit to read their post about it. Funny thing is, the moderators put up a post saying "no politics in Battletech." I find that somewhat ironic because they proceed to downvote anyone that says he shouldn't have been kicked and make their usual lefty hypocritical points. The great thing is: Battletech is a nieche game. It's not Warhammer. It's not GW behind them.
So EVERY paying costumer who gets in touch and tells them that he might not be a paying costumer anymore might make them shake in their boots.

We have tons of technology to allow for the creation of new material, and there's an IMMENSE drive right now in the public for new entertainment that's divorced from these commie assclowns.
We need new material, from new companies and groups that aren't publicly traded, and thus aren't vulnerable to the whiles of woke buyout. It's the only way that doesn't end up with us a screeching minority that don't matter and are mocked, abused, and worse.

I've come to battletech running from GW new woke politics, which is hard for me since i've been there since 1999. And then just when I started reading the books all this crap blows up. Guess this is another fantasy/sciencie fiction world ruined by this neomedieval cult mob that is the modern left. @Blaine Pardoe Sir I wish I had made the stream I wanted to tell you that I started Battletech with the 4th Edition Box Set (amazing art in it). Playing a few matches of Battletech every Saturday evening for about eight months straight was one of the few things my step father and I had any kind of bonding moments over. Thank you and all the guys with FASA back in those days for providing those moments with your game.

The short answer is, there's probably a giant push to put Politics in the books and Perdoe was a big proponent against putting modern politics in Battletech. Now they are free to do it and honestly I'm pirating the last Pardoe book from Catalyst and calling that one the end. @Leanja he wrote for battletech for far longer than CGL has been around (they were founded in 2007 ffs) and if the fanbase has any teeth he'll write for it after they're stomped into the dust.
That his freaking stalker for over 2 years got a chance to write anything for that corpo while the guy who spent over 40 years writing for them(and from what I heard from the fans, he is pretty much responsible for alot of the more modern Battletech lore) got booted is pure insanity. He's not just responsible for the modern lore, he's responsible for quite a bit of it over the course of the past 40 years. When Arch says this would be like cancelling Dan Abnett, that's not just in terms of importance, but in terms of sheer length of time contributing to the franchise.

I’m not into Battletech much as I have other hobbies (and Battletech does look cool admittedly) but I’ve seen this happen to others. We all need to band together, make your displeasure and disappointment known, boycott if you personally want to but don’t let the woke mob ruin another property

@Leanja we should kickstart the money and make Tex buy it out. Then since he is not gonna want to govern it, he will sell it to someone he deems worthy, and then he can become a full time battletech creator or donate the money to charity.

I mean if we could get Fanatic to give an estimate of how much they'd want to sell the battletech franchise, i'm sure we could meet it.

But the statement they released, they seem to be fine in owning this action.

Is it unfair to the writer? Yes. But why should I help them correct a mistake that's gonna cost them money and goodwill. They seem to be ok with it.

The CEO of Catalyst Game Labs though, Loren Coleman, almost sank the company about 10 years ago when he embezzled funds and was never punished or prosecuted for it. The company was never well run, and Battletech has only survived all these decades of companies mismanaging it because it's such a great IP with such a strong fanbase to hold it up on their shoulders. Coleman is about to learn what happens when you squander that good will.

This is a big mistake. Battletech will suffer for this directly in losing someone good and indirectly in that people who demand these kinds of sacrifices never have an end to their demands.
Stories like this break my spirit. I have enjoyed Battletech for years (since being introduced to the world in Mechwarrior 2) and I was looking forward to adding Battletech content to my Tabletop series of videos. I no longer want to do that and I'm not sure if I should just toss the scripts and footage. It's difficult to remain a fan especially when history has shown that things like this are just the tip of the iceberg. I want to get angry, I want to fight, but after so many things I love(d) getting corrupted or destroyed it's hard to keep up that energy. I just want to have one franchise where carpetbaggers don't try to destroy it.
Recently, I was dealing with some interpersonal drama and I used Battletech Lore as my way of just escaping from reality for a couple hours. I love the books, I love the world, and I hate the fact that one crazy person can poison the well so easily. I realize while writting this that I sound like a defeatist, that is not my intention. This is more of a vent of my frustration with everything. I'm glad the community is coming together on this one and I hope we get justice for Blaine Pardoe. I will get over my feelings of depression this has caused and I will do what I can to help. After all: No Guts, No Galaxy!

@Arch I am in the odd position of knowing most of the players in this. A point of order: Catalyst is NOT a subsidiary of Topps or Fanatics. They are their own private LLC that makes Battletech products under license from Topps (Now Fanatics) There is no other chain of ownership between the three companies.
This entire situation strikes me as odd. Releasing a contract author just after they penned the last major plot development going forward? Weird. Also, Herbert Beas' name was dropped as being involved in the accusations. Herb was at one time (Almost 9 years ago now) the line developer for Battletech, but had subsequently left the company and as had only the most tertiary of contact with upper management since that time. This leaves me with suspicions in all directions. Which is undoubtedly what the architect of this current madness was hoping for. Above all, I lament this will only be the beginning, as one has gone, the mob will only grow emboldened. The fight has arrived on my shores. As much as I hoped it would not.
