  • Welcome to Deefer Diving's new CZcams channel, D for Diving.
How many dive professionals have been on a dive where you 'accidentally' went beyond your no-decompression limit? Or where you've been diving and come very very close to your NDL? I'm guessing its quite a few. Now how many of these industry professionals know anything about decompression theory, advanced nitrox or how to properly use your dive computers? I'm guessing this number is quite a bit lower.
Isn't it strange that so many professionals in our industry do not know the first thing about the procedures for managing a short amount of deco, but live in fear of the NDL. Here, in Part 1 of our 2-part video series, Jon and Nora have a discussion about 'Techreational' diving, and why every dive pro should know this.
What are your thoughts? Should this theory be incorporated into all dive professional training? Leave your comments in the section below.

Typically, if you wanted to learn it as a course they're bundled together, but they key to what we're suggesting is gaining a better appreciation for deco procedures (and fully understanding dive computers) for all pro's, which does not necessarily require a course. In our shop we've run all our team through the principles, and it's been really interesting to see the change in the way the instructors now think about and plan for risk on deeper, longer or long repetitive dive days

@@DeeferDivingCarriacou Thanks for explaining to me. I am going to take ADV NTX + DECO combo course when lock up in Moalboal. But my longterm goal is to make it to the full cave + advanced sidemount panetration.

I was confusing about ADV NTX + Deco, because I don't want to do stage and extended depth, seems no need for this combo. But I realize that this combo teacher lots of basic ideas for basic tec environment. So I will take this combo course. :) Anyway thank you for this video, really cool
