a few years ago we got to open for Deicide here in Belgium as the local band. Everybody was chillin backstage with some guy smoking a joint. Then the door blasted open, kicked by Glen Benton yelling to stop smoking drugs or he would cancel the show. Later that night after the shows I found him smoking a joint outside with my bass player. Apparently he just enjoys fucking with people for a laugh.

1992. Thirsty Whale in Illinois. Halfway through the set Glen said someone kept spitting on him and stormed out of the show. I was in the front row and never saw anyone spitting. Saw him afterwards sitting in back of their equipment trailer with his head in his hands…didn’t look very happy to see us looking at him.
I got permanent hearing damage from that show being in front of the Kaufmann’s stacks… show I’ll never forget

Had a very similar experience towards the end of the Hoffman's times. Stood on the left side of the stage and could hardly hear anything for days after that. And Glenn quit the show after maybe 5 songs because someone threw a beer onstage. The funny part was he had the roadies grab the guy and haul him backstage. I've always wondered what else happened...

DEICIDE is the best. One of my all time favorite bands. I met Glen a few times over the years and he was always cool. Gave me his autograph once. Steve is awesome also. I met him once, not to mention he is also the best drummer. Hail Satan. 666 👹💀🔥god is Dead.

Dude I know this show was kinda dead. It was the 1st day of summer heat so the venue was hot as fuck. Monday night too. Also half the people left after hate eternal could’ve been because of Monday or they just don’t like Deicide who knows...
