Two things: If u dont get auto save entering the shrine, leave and enter again will do it.
Also, you CAN fuse items to the glitch master sword to make it OP BUT it requires another glitch to do it, so I will have another vid for that

Hey I just found out that if the rock setup doesn't seem to work you can run and jump at the wall and pick it up through the wall
Can you drop the weapon to octoroks to get modifiers into the glitched sword?

Got it after 15 minutes of attempts, here’s a few things that helped me get it.
1. In the shrine, have a very long weapon equipped for the dupe glitch, I used 2 claymores fused together.
2. Also in the shrine, make sure you are as close as possible to the wall, I used the small rock in the water fused on top of the boulder to be touching the wall, I was sliding a bit and it still worked.
3. Back under hyrule castle, after a successful weapon duplication, pick up your super long weapon and WALK UP A FEW STEPS from where you grabbed it. Walk up the stairs (like 4-5 stairs) before doing the dupe glitch to get the master sword back to the shrine.
These are the few specific things I did different from the video that helped me get it after a few tries. Good luck!

A few tips for anybody having trouble
1 place the rock farther in, more towards the fruits
2 stack two of the rocks together; I was having a lot of trouble getting the weapon to spawn under the castle when I load the hard save, stacking the rocks makes it spawn for me almost every time
3 save when you pick up the weapon under the castle, before you try and dupe the master sword, as it has a tendency to spawn in the wall at the shrine and you might have to reposition a little

On step 2. Do you mean stack the rock next to each other? On top of each other so you are higher? And tip 3 is GREATLY over rated. I got the sword to spawn the first time but because of not saving THERE under the castle i wasted an additional 45 mins plus.
People have made too many hard saves and have lost their main game data. Beware.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Sometimes the master sword will be inside the wall of the in isa shrine, BUT you CAN still grab it by placing the rock where you put it earlier and climbing to where the wallster sword is.

Can you do this glitch somewhere besides that one shrine
Note, when trying to dupe the sword back to the top, stand in the middle of the circular frame structure (where Blaines does it in the video) facing towards the bottom. Maybe a step or two more towards the top. This will always spawn the sword in the water of the shrine. No spawning inside the walls or other bs.
Other tips from other comments are great too. When ur trying to dupe a weapon to underground, try to adjust height and get as close as you can to the wall. It worked for me when I was two rocks up and nose touching the wall. For where you should be horizontally, try to stay somewhere between where the water ends (towards the plants) and the middle line of the structure.
Also, if you are playing on an emulator on 60 fps. LOWER to 30. (Can be done through emulator->configuration->lower limit speed from 100% to 50% on yuzu. The less frames the easier to hit). The double ++ to pause/unpause is much much harder to hit if ur on 60 frames. Just spent a whole hour trying to get the sword back to the shrine. First tried it when I lowered to 30 and did it again two in a row just to test. You can tell if it hit if ur character is still holding the master sword after the ++.

I finally did, I though it was the last circular structure, so I failed many times: it was in fact the second to last one.

I've finally done it. Note, Zelda will stop you if you try to return to the room with the breakable rocks, so nothing will happen if you bring a stone crusher. The message that pops up when trying to fuse is "you can't use fuse on this equipment". That's not the same message you get when trying to fuse a weapon that's already fused with something, so i assume it's a placeholder for a future weapon or something. Seems weird to have a message like that when seemingly everything can be fused
UPDATE: The sword can be dropped - and duped. In shrines that take away your equipment, fear not, it gives the sword back
botw also had the Master Sword has returned to the forest message even though you couldn't drop it maybe at the beginning of development not all weapons could be fused and that message is the result of that
So if it can be dropped could you, say, fuse it to your legit master sword?
Nah you can't drop the legit Master Sword
You can glitch fuse two duped Bugged Master Sword Together for a 60 dmg weapon, but you can eventually build weapons that does like 160 damage later in the end games.
the 30 dmg master sword can carry you if you don't wanna deal with trash weapons basically.
Remember that both normal weapons and the fused parts run on durability and so fusing normal items onto a inf Master Sword can have the fused item break eventually.
@@Yamigetsu i'll test it, but i think it's a "waste", considering the main weapon should still have durability (and the fact that the duped master sword only has 30 power). Worthy of a test, at least
@@dra6o0n i... never brought up the legit master sword. Also, wielding the duped sword "MsgNotFound", trying to fuse it with anything won't work. At the end of the vid, blaines said that requires another glitch he'll make a video on. If you got it to work, do tell how. If you fused two master swords, i imagine you fused the og as a base and a duped as the extension?
Pro tip of you're having trouble getting the sword to show in the new game. Instead of 2 rocks, I use the treasure chest located nearby on top of a column. I use the treasure chest instead of small rocks to fuse to the boulder.

Disclaimer, you do not need to start over again every time you fail by making a new save, he meant you have to start over as in go back to in-isa and attempt the rock thing again, if you start from the beginning of the game again you have more of a chance of losing your save because the game likes to autosave a lot at the start, always keep an eye on your save slots after each step and you should be fine as long as you make sure your actual save doesn't get overwritten by your other attempts
Alternatively, put your hard save in in-isa shrine instead of under hyrule castle so your main save doesn't get pushed out by autosaves
Also if you can't get it to work, hold the weapon you're duping and preferably use a spear, the weapon needs to clip through the wall to appear under hyrule castle
Edit: you can't put your hard save in in-isa shrine cause you have to be on the stairs in hyrule castle unfortunately, however you should be fine as long as you don't continuously make new saves every time you fail like a lot of people thought you were supposed to from this video
But how will you get back beneath highrule castle if you don’t start a new game?
@@joshjohnson-vp4hq sorry I should've elaborated, you start over once, but a lot of people were assuming if they failed that they had to make a new save again, which caused them to lose their saves because they kept adding new saves that overwrote their main one
Gonna sound stupid here, but if you fail and start again at in-insa, wouldn't the autosaves eventually overwrite hyrule castle?
Feel free to call me stupid, as I've been trying this for hours, lost my initial save data, and no matter how much I try step for step, it just isn't working.
I kept doing this with the boulder found on the claymore provided in the in-isa shrine. At times it would clip through the stairs, be stuck in the stairs, or come sliding down to me in the new game prologue, lol.
@@mightymouse8134 If you fail to glitch the sword through the wall, just reload your latest shrine auto save, not the one below the hyrule castle save, if that makes sense. Took me quite a while but I did it eventually with two merged royal claymores.
Just got this after about 5 attempts. Here is what worked for me;
Stack one boulder on top of the other. Place it in the same spot as the video. When you get on top, keep moving to the wall slowly, align your view to that crack that goes vertically. Move to the wall until you slide down the rock and let gravity take you until you stop. If done right, you will still be on top of the boulder and you should be kissing the wall basically, now do the dupe glitch as instructed. This spawned my weapon in the new game file every time.
For getting the weapon to the shrine, i did what one of the other commenters said to do, once i had the sword, i positioned myself to the spot we started in the new game save, and then went up about 3 or 4 more stairs and did the 2nd dupe there.
When i loaded the auto save in the shrine, master sword was waiting for me =).

I have it updated to the latest and it just worked for me. I had a lot of trouble getting the sword back to the mainsave, but how I managed to in the end was when I was on Ganon's stairs, to unsheath the weapon so it sligtly sticks into the stairs ( around the place Blaine stood) and then do the ++ glitch. It showed up in the water in the shrine.
I used two rocks on top of each other for the first part, and I used two decayed metal swords stuck together ( unsheathed and sticking into the shrine wall) and then did the glitch. When it showed up at Ganon's it actually wasn't on the floor like for Blaine, but it was stuck in the dirt wall.

I understand why it had durability in BoTW but seeing what happened prior to getting it again in ToTK it really shouldn't have a reason to recharge...

Hey there! Just some tips for those who are struggling! This worked for me 100%
1. Stack 2 Boulders on top of one another, position them to the left of the line.
2. Create a long FUSED weapon. What does this means? Grab the Claymore in the beginning of the shrine and fuse it with a spear
or weapon that will make it long.
3. For Links placement, being up against the wall is fine. As long as you're not sliding.
4. When doing the duplication glitch, the weapon should look frozen when you're doing the ++ method. When you equip your second weapon your first weapon should be visible in the background but not moving at all.

Tips: stack two big blocks instead of one, always be left of the line, touch the wall even if you slide, check the wall after you warped the master sword to your main file.

To those who are afraid to lose their main save file on autosave: before going beneath the hyrule castle before doing the hard save, load first your autosave of the main save file then exit the shrine wait for 3 minutes then go back again - this will force an autosave and will push that autosave up by 2 slots.
Then load the autosave of 'beneath hyrule castle' then proceed to do the hard save

Luckily I'm playing on PC and was smart enough to save a copy of my og save files to a separate folder because I was worried I might lose my main save file and sure as heck I was one of the unlucky ones that would have had lost 100 hours of game play had I not done that before hand. So TIP to PC players SAVE YOUR FILES TO SEPARATE FOLDER BEFORE TRYING THIS GLITCH!!

By the way. You don't need to wait 3 mins. It auto saves automatically right away and pushes it up. I'm attempting this now. I know a little late but yes.
As of this time, it still works. Perhaps the issue is with the positioning of the rock against the wall or how close you should be standing against the wall, but it took me multiple tries to get it done
Just a tip for anyone trying this. Make sure you inspect the wall by the rock before you decide to redo the whole glitch. My MSGNOTFOUND spawned inside of the wall the rock was resting on. All I had to do was climb the rock and jump and press grab.

For anyone having issues replace the rock by the wall and check the wall from up there. It wasn't visible but it still let me pick it up.
This helped me! My sword was stuck inside of a rock so I had to carefully walk around until I could pick up my cloned sword
Yeah I thought i failed getting the sword til i put the rock there and the sword was actually inside the wall.
I should have read the comments bc the same thing happened to me and I just happened to see the sword name pop up in the wall when I was trying to do it again.
What happens to the original master sword that’s in the forest? Can you still retrieve it like normal?

Damn it took me over an hour but I finally did it. Stacking the two rocks and doing the second hard save EXACTLY at the spot where the first weapon drops underneath the castle is what seemed to do the trick. Good luck to everyone still trying. Really hope this doesn't get patched.

If you are coming here after patch 1.1.2 and you've updated, due to them fixing the specific menu duplication glitch that made this duping possible, it's no longer possible to get this sword this specific way.
However if you are still in 1.1.1 and haven't updated the game, this works.
Furthermore, if you already have the msgnotfound sword, updating won't take away your sword however it will take away the ability to duplicate it for now (due to the specifics of the msgnotfound sword not being able to be thrown).
Moreover you can still do the glitch, as far as I know, that turns the msgnotfound sword into a triple elemental sword. GoodLuck with that.
This may change if new glitches are found so look into the glitch scene if you started the game later or updated right at the start

But as long as your game is in the previous patches before they fixed this particular duplication glitch, should work.
STILL WORKS. Here’s how I did it and here’s what I discovered:
- I put the boulder right where he did, and threw a frozen chu chu on the water to make a platform, glued the ice platform on the boulder so I wouldn’t have issues with sliding or not getting close enough to the wall. Here’s the biggest thing I realized: The Master Sword apparently spawns very very close to where link is, even in height. I spent so long looking for the sword, and eventually gave up and re tried the glitch, but when I went up on the ice platform again, the sword showed up in the wall, in MID AIR. So chances are, your sword did actually spawn in, you just need to look vertically as well.

SHRINE TIP • attach both rocks one on top of the other, climb to top n then get close to wall ( even if you slip ) long as you're no longer slipping + touching the wall the glitch should work 100%
After like 100,000 tries I FINALLY GOT IT 😭😭😭 I found the weapon “knights helbred” to be really consistent on clipping out of the rock

my tip is that when u sucessfully duped ur weapon to the new save file save the game first before duplicating the MNF to ur original save file so that if u failed to sucessfully dupe it to ur orig file u can just comeback to ur save file on the new game, dupe it 5 stairs above where u initially spawned in the new game
After many many trials I got it! It’s important to be very close to the wall, that’s why I suggest tu use also the small stone in the water

Hint 1: There is a thing as pressing + too fast. If in the blurred background, you still see the initial weapon equipped you pressed it too fast so Before you even load back into the under the castle save try the the weapon throw part again.
Hint 2: on how to easily tell if the first part worked the moment you reload back in beneath the Castle listen carefully if you hear the sound of a weapon "falling" and tumbling on the floor means that worked
Hint 3: spears and long-range weapons are amazing fuse 2 together or to the claymore and you got even more range there (I used a long-stick Claymore)
Hope this spares someone else a few tries :) have fun

I feel like I'm follow the instructions to a T but I still can't get it. I got the weapon into under Hyrule castle 1 time and then the master sword didn't come with me and now I can't get the weapon to redrop into hyrule castle

Do not hard save in the new game as the auto save risks saving over your main game.
Instead do a hard save inside the temple.
Then go to a new game & progress till after Zelda looks at the murals on the wall & it will autosave you which is the save you will use to dupe.
Load into your hard save in the temple and proceed to move the rock to the wall as close as possible I moved it around so I was basically touching the wall.
Do the dupe glitch to drop your weapon then load into the auto save after Zelda looks at the mural.
Make your way down the stairs and look for your weapon by hugging the right wall (I couldn't even see mine it just sparkled after I was spamming a going down).
After picking up your weapon move a few steps up and dupe the master sword.
No risk of losing auto saving your main game this way.
Is there a way to get the old save back or is it a case of suck it and start again?

That is insane! It really took me awhile before finally getting it. Thanks for all the advice in the comment section. I had to fuze 2 soldier's claymore to see it sticking out. I suggest using 2 spears for more success and to follow his exact positioning. But honestly, I firmly believe it will be patch and the sword removed. It is basically a separate sword form the original master sword. They can easily remove it even after we got it...
You can fuse a board or grab that board weapon a construct uses or just attach a massive board to the weapon. it makes it very wide and long.

@@Anteman It being a prologue weapon, it's not coded to allow fusing.
IMPORTANT: Do a hard save after you enter shrine on main game, dont hardsave on your new game, use the autosave after zelda takes photos of the walls. If you hardsave on your new game theres a chance you can lose your save game bcus your autosave on main game will be replaced. I lost 20hrs.
I came back 2 days later after i stopped banging my head into a wall and tried this glitch again, I got it 2nd try. What worked was using 2 large boulders to stand on in the shrine, my first try the weapon was stuck in the ground because 1 boulder was too low. Do the dupe and load autosave from new game. Run down stairs and pick up weapon. Now, walk up 4 stairs. Do the dupe. Load main game in shrine and go pickup weapon. The reason you move up 4 stairs is so the mastersword doesnt get stuck in the wall and is instead a little bit away from the wall.
Good luck. Be very careful if you have progress in your main game. I suggest online backup if possible and make sure you hard save your main game.
Yeah, what you stated is the better way. I used a tutorial that had that. By having the auto save for the new game and manual save for your main file/the shrine, you completely eliminate any possibility of having your main save overwritten/lost.
This needs to be higher up, also just deleted my main game, 30 hours of play gone..
@@googlewolly I also found this “When your doing the master sword glitch you can also save inside the shrine and use the autosave that happens after you beat the bats that attack you it works just about the same as doing it the way your doing it.
It is also removes the risk of losing your main save if the game decides to autosave a lot during the new game.”

@@jamesgoodman540 I think that what you suggested is the same thing that M and I are referring to. The important thing is to have your manual save be for your main file. That way, no risk of losing it.
@@googlewolly Gotcha. Though it seems slightly different? M seems to be using the hard save after just entering the shrine, the one I mentioned seems to be using the auto save inside the shrine after the bats. Then again, not fully clear if M used the shrine manual or auto save.
I guess It doesn’t actually matter, the shrine auto save after defeating the bats leaves you closer to where you need to be, I guess it’s slightly more convenient if you need multiple attempts.
Another thing Is the shrine won’t always auto save upon entering (you can just leave and try again like in the video), killing the bats forces a auto save. Though like I mentioned before, not sure if a shrine auto save is even important anymore?

If you wanna make it extra easy on your self you can tell after you do the menu exit and re-enter if you got the weapon clipped into the wall by looking at the blurred background and seeing where your weapon currently is. Another trick is to notice in the pause menu how his weapon is being held in front of him. if you do it with a two-handed sword for example it will be beside/behind you. So it won't clip into the wall since you are taking advantage of how the character stance shows in the pause menu to clip the weapon into the wall to appear in the other save file.

this helped me a lot. i was using 2 handed weapons and it wasn’t working. ran outside the shrine, cut a tree, grabbed a stick and ran back. first try it worked so thanks 🙏🏼
The autosave saved over all the other files during the walk with Zelda
In my case it left me with ONE save file, I almost lost all progress. This glitch is dangerous.

After an hour and a half of endlessly trying it worked. The Master Sword will usually spawn inside the wall where the boulder is assuming you so every other step correctly. Simply keep trying and it will eventually spawn in the correct location.
As for having the duped weapon appear beneath the castle. Saving Link in the exact location as he points to, for me it tends to spawn inside a piece of rubble a couple steps up from link on the right side of the tunnel (facing towards Zelda). Sometimes you can’t pick it up as it’s inside the rubble but it has a visible sparkle from certain angles, other times it’s glitching and popping out the rubble available for you to pick up.
If it isn’t working and you are determined. Continue trying and ensure every step is done properly, eventually you will get it.
I did the first part and got the msgnotfound, can I now try to use that save on the same place and only do the duping process and load the shrine save up ?
Nevermind, i got it 10 minutes later with both saves and the correct ++ timing, I think you need to do it 2 times without a saves between because the first time it tells the location for the second ++
There are 2 spots with rubble and it's so dark In having a hard time telling if he stops at the first ruble or second rubble
i have been at this for like 40 mins and im doing it right its literally just wont work

You can also save inside the shrine and use the autosave from the new game to do this glitch too.
There is no risk of the game autosaving your main save file away.

If you hard save in the shrine instead of the new game then that can't happen.

got to the bottom of the stairs, did the hard save, and open the load saves list - only to find that all my previous save history was gone. Replaced by a ton of autosaves in this corridor.

Can confirm that msg sword still stays working after retrieving the master sword. Also can confirm when link pulls his sword from his back it still works --update-- i just started to finally get abit further and it crashed my game... and shows new game only damn

In a way I’m shocked but also not surprised. There isn’t much information about this glitch so it’s wise to make a backup save before doing this. Although I don’t think that will help you now
I managed to fix it thankfully lol. I had a cloud backup incase. Phew so far it seems to be going well 😊

@@soggyandroid I’ve spent two weeks trying to decipher what u just said however I still have no idea (hence why I find it crazy).
If you did everything right but it seemed to not work try jumping off the rock once when you are setting up again. Mine spawned in the wall and I didn't even notice until I messed up the set up and accidently jumped off the rock.

TY for the video. Took me an hour to get the sword. After reading the comments i went and put the 2nd boulder on top of the first and did the dupe glitch and it worked. Forgot to save so did it again and worked right away. Anyways ty
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU ARE HIGHER ON THE STAIRS WHEN YOU DUPLICATE THE MASTER SWORD 3 or 4 STEPS
The 2 boulder trick made it work for me. Couldn't get it to work with 1 boulder. Now I gotta find the best thing to fuse with this to make it OP.

after 3 hours finally got it to work, but what i did to finally get it to work is, i moved the rock til it let me be full on face to the wall, i legit couldnt move any closer as i was touching the wall at this point, and then the regular dup and boom loaded the save file and the weap was there. (tho i had to give up the broken master sword by completing that full beginning and then it finally worked.)

Probably a bunch of trials en tests.
Edit: they used the duplication glitch to manipulate the code for weapons storage. Dunno the details but they made it work
well its pretty simple really, the dupe glitch works by manipulating saves, therefore the save with the master sword in the opening scene must also work, the rock is likely to raise the swords spawn position so that the master sword doesnt glitch through the floor, and the stair positioning is to give the duped weapon from your main save enough space to spawn in as well, pretty simple when you think about

I’ve tried this many times and I can’t find any weapon when I load back to the castle I have small shield equipped and was using the rock hammer to dupe with
Its funny how everyone here practically wouldnt have ever seen this video when it came out, and seeing it now still finds it irrelevant based on the current situation of playing the game.
HIGHLY recommend getting some practice in with bow ammo duping before trying this. Was able to get it first try because I was already used to duping hundreds of annoying armor upgrade items at this point
What are the chances this could screw up your save file or conflict with something else? Especially if they patch this?
That's why I'm leaving this tab open and refreshing every now and then to read comments... Glitches like this tend to corrupt save data from what I know.
Anything that starts using Dev script / tags / titles gets risky.

I've done the glitch and now shitting myself, done well over 50 hours and only done 2 sages, if it breaks my game I will let you all know and then kill myself
saw another comment saying it completely wiped his data, so I have loaded back to save without msgnotfound, hard saved again and then backed up my save to cloud, not taking any chances lol

Got it to work after stacking two Rocks together. And after hard saving before trying to get the Master Sword Dupe helped a lot. Don't know what i was doing wrong (maybe too slow while pressing + twice) but in the end it worked

I struggled eith the weapon appearing beneath the tubble s lot. So i stacked the teo rocks snd did it. Worked first try after that

I tryed it for 3 hours, stacking the rocks did the magic! Thank you a lot.
Using B, + is the same and for me is faster than using +,+. I use different fingers for both and can hit this glitch just about every time now. Like others have said: Try using the treasure chest fused to the rock to get a flat platform for standing on with less sliding, and get close to the wall in the shrine. In the stairwell try going up a few stairs from where the weapon spawns (I aim for the tall stair about 5-7 up from there). When the MS is supposed to spawn in the shrine make sure you check in the wall and bring a boulder in case you need extra height. For me the first time it spawned in the wall on the fire fruit side. If you're having difficulty and everything else is right you're probably not pressing B,+ fast enough.
Can u save it once u pick up ur hammer stick to save u from doing the whole boulder method or will that mess up the master sword from spawning when u load back up to the shrine?
Since this glitch can bring items into the prologue, I wonder if you can sequence break by bringing a rocket shield to the prologue and then equipping it and flying above zelda to go into the chasm while avoiding the cutscene point?
Heck what about the medallion for teleporting? can you bring that into the prologue?
then tag the area right at the cutscene and continue playing till you get teleport access and just teleport to that castle scene?
Can you do this glitch after you have the actual sword, effectively having 2 master swords?
Also can you fuse items to it and remove items from it in terry town?

my immediate testing i couldnt fuse an item to the sword, but i didnt try fusing it to something else. More testing needed
I tested it on my file with 20 hearts in. It works:). As for fusing nothing can fuse to it. So it will stay at 30bp

Fuse two claymores or spears together to make the weapon easier to clip through and grab

This helped a ton but I had to run straight to the spear/claymore I made before it clipped through the wall and I couldn't reach it. When getting the Master Sword back to the main file I had to run around to the corner of the room with the fire fruit trees and I could reach it there. Thanks everyone for the tips.

To those struggling: do not use the duplication glitch on a weapon fused with a boulder. If you need to fuse your weapon to a boulder to get past the first room, after you destroy the pillars go to your weapon in your inventory and select “destroy fused material.” Then fuse with the regular rock in the following room. Your weapon should say “rock hammer,” instead of “boulder hammer.” Then just follow the instructions as normal and it should work. I couldn’t get it to work until I tried this, but then it worked first try! Hope this helps

***PSA: If you go back to the shrine and don't see the MS, get the rock and place it as close to the wall as possible. You may need to rotate it a bit.
If you get on top and stand as close to it as you can, the sword may be in the wall.

Took me 1 hr tried 2 different ways the main important step is to save inside the shrine and if you mess up you dont have to start from the beginning just have the 2 save files also if you save near where you kill the bats with zelda the weapon has a better chance of appearing unobstructed

Thank you to all the lovely people who shared their experiences here so I figured i'd do the same! Once you get to that point where you have two weapons at the beggining of the game, you are able to save and keep that weapon there to continually try to get the duped master sword onto your main file. Another thing is, move a few steps upward from where he told you to stand when trying to dupe the master sword! And keep trying! it does work and you can still drop the weapon

Finally got it to work when I followed a few tips all together.
1. For the stone I fused the chest to the top of it & stayed to the left of the line. You can find the chest on one of the stone columns to the left of the little stone located in the water after you break the initial stone wall.
2. Infused two swords together to make them longer, for some reason this worked immediately.
3. I repeated the first steps and found the sword in the wall where I did the dupe glitch. Super easy and I am very happy rn.

I'd appreciate that @Blaines you actually do explain little more detail. Cuz you say to fuse with boulder. Not with Rock. When your fused weapon has a work nnot Bolder. I also recommend that you do a few different methods or ways and specially for save file. That you explain how not to lose save file. Since some people are losing there save files over this.
Please do go into a little more detail next time. Gladly I read the comments and did it in first try.
