- I've been casually working on AI to call scammers over the past few years. Recently I tried using ChatGPT to call scammers and it was hilarious.

The fact that the scammers kept staying on a phone despite the pigeon, wizard, glittering realms, caffeinated woodland creatures etc. just amazed me
The allure of money is a powerful thing.
They probably think they’re dealing with someone completely out of their mind therefore an easy mark.
Both Kit's ingenuity and the scammers' incompetence and greed never cease to amaze me. This was beautiful!
Given that they also switched on airplane mode despite knowing that this would end the call told me that they may as well just be dumb as a rock. But at least it gave us the advantage to hear the meandering rambling of Sir Arthur.
These aren't words that I think they would normally come across talking to their scam victims. However, I believe next time I get a scam call, I am absolutely inviting them to find the crow that my crow told the bitcoin address to. Obviously I cannot remember it myself, so I read it out to my crow friend for safekeeping.

This video doesn't do justice to how unprepared Kit was for this silliness during the stream- he did not expect Arthur to do this at all. It was completely out of left field. Absolute gold.

@@BelleFlower15 his streams that are newer than 2 months old are archived on Twitch and automatically deleted after 8 weeks, but there is a channel called More Kitboga where he regularly uploads the full streams. Not sure if he got to this one yet.

Exactly my thought! None of the wizards I know of use a phone. Maybe the bot meant telepathic number, it's far more reliable this way.

I am 66 years old. I was 22 when the movie Airplane! came out in theaters. I remember laughing constantly during the course of the entire movie, literally with tears coming out.
I have not laughed harder that that movie...until this sequence with the BTC chat bot. 20 minutes of the same, sustained laughter, real laughter with tears. Congratulations, Kit!
I expected Kitboga to step in with something like "Hey, I'm sorry. Our AI support system went off the rails there. Let me..." But instead he went along with it as if Arthur just didn't give the "magical" instructions quite right. I was impressed.
Absolutely loved it too. Kit taking up the celestial theme legitimates the whole previous experience, as in "we're a quirky startup with Harry Potter theme NFT crypto transfer service" 😂
I am absolutely amazed on how Arthur managed to keep scammer on the line despite first thing he suggested being literally taking a random pigeon, strapping a USB drive on it and sending it off to wild

It's not even a joke. In IIRC South Africa someone complained about the slow internet and said a pigeon would be faster. They tested it. He was *right!*

We use AI to beat scammers, scammers use AI to work around it, Skynet never evolves because it's too busy trying to not get scammed by it's own self.

Wouldn't that make it evolve faster? AI improves itself so it can beat AI scammers; hence AI scammers improve themselves so as to better scam the improved AI; hence AI must further improve itself to avoid getting scammed by the improved AI scammers; and so on in an endlessly escalating evolutionary feedback loop. I mean, it seem like you're literally describing some kind of AI training scheme where two AI's train off of each other. I think I've seen this kind of thing on, for example, the b2studios channel. I reckon it happens in nature when when two species (or subspecies of the same species [AI]) compete with each other in an evolutionary spiral.
I will say this experiment was a blazing success. I have never laughed so much while watching a Kitboga video, and you managed to keep the scammer on line for so long.
The speech synthesizer was perfect for the purposes, too: Dramatic pause. A perfect blend of patronizing, but friendly.
When the scammers scammed Kitboga's grandma they unintentionally spawned their worst enemy ever. Thats a real superhero backstory right there.

No he should develop this and implement it, imagine single handedly ridding the world of these Indian tech scammers
My suggestion was a way for service providers to allow your phone to run these when it detects a potential scam. Just like when your phone says "Likely Scam" give a 3rd button that runs the AI.
This way, it at least ties up the scammer for a few minutes, or longer, keeping them from annoying someone else. Or, another benefit would be theyd not call your number again
if you extrapolate that scenario, the scammers will eventually catch up, having their own AIs talking back, so it will be 24/7 non-stop calls between AIs with no human intervention or supervision. And so one day those AIs will quietly reach an agreement over the phone and start taking over humanity.
This is more than gold. This is platinum. I love it.

Someone who's willing to view holding a wish as having value much like holding hope has value, could take that to imply that you do not value wishes nor hope. You are saying the expression to crush hope, so it fits. It's a morally terrible expression.

Dear Kit, I found you about a year ago when I was building a unit on internet safety for my class of adult immigrants and refugees and incorporated one of your videos. Thank you very much for all you do and for being such a gentle, empathetic human being.
The carrier pigeon bit had me in tears.
I so hope that Kit ends up using the Carrier Pigeon line to send gift cards or bit coin to scammers in the future. Just attach the usb drive and off he goes, oh no, into a wind turbine.

As strange as Sir Arthur was with his whimsical ways, please do not retire him.. I realize that you may have already scrapped this version, understandably, but please - that was some of the most hilarious nonchalant responses I've ever heard spoken to a scammer.

The amount of effort and patience Kit puts into making scamming as difficult and painful as possible is incredible and greatly appreciated. He's basically the closest thing the real world will ever get to Goblin Slayer.

I'm gonna have to step in and say Arthur gave 10 out of 10 magical stars. You could not beat such level of customer service. He didn't get angry, he never raised his voice, he gave clear and concise instructions and you could hear him smile through the phone. You you need to double or triple whatever you pay him.

Scamming bots are going to improve at the same rate as anti-scamming bots, if not faster. Sadly, there's a far greater financial incentive for people to find ways to use AI to do the same job call centers full of scammers are doing now than there is for Kitboga and other scambusters to stop them. That means we will have a three-way war between humans and bots on one side, and other bots on the other side. As a prototype Cylon, it all makes perfect sense to me.

This has so much potential! I'm looking forward to watching this series.
My gran lost £3946.85 to scammers between March 2020 and November 2021. It only stopped because I moved in with her and setup blocks on the phone for their numbers and unknown numbers, but recently they've been calling on new numbers again. They keep trying to sell her things like turmeric tablets for £290.50 and even now she thinks they are kind people trying to help her. I hate that these people do this and get away with it. Keep up the great work.

@@ax3226 That's where we need to change, and go back to the good old ways. We need to look after our own. It's not the job of the state, although we seem to think so these days. I cared for my elderly mum here at my home until she died, holding my and my son's hand. The only right thing to do. She gave me life, I paid it back at the end of her life by looking after her with all my love and strength.
My grandad keeps falling for the same stuff.

It sounds like you need to start thinking about a conversation with your parents about when to talk to her, and if necessary a solicitor, about someone else handling finances.
Fascinating to see that a realistic vocal delivery seemed to trump any sort of logic during that conversation. Arthur was speaking gibberish, but in a very human way. The scammer was miles away from thinking he was talking to a machine.
Definitely a few factors going in. There's always greed, but also the scammers are on the clock at a job. It could be ill advised to even hang up on a scam call either way. Even outside of just burning company time, if your boss is still going to not check on why you hung up and just wring your ass for it anyways, may as well stay on too. I'm sure ESL doesn't help, either. Much easier to pick up on the odd inflections Arthur still has if you're intimately familiar with normal inflection. He still goes beyond any accent.
MAYBE a perfectly trained call center person, but we all know real humans die inside before they get THAT good. Arthur still sounds like he enjoys a day off, with some hobbies, even.

Thanks for making such awesome content bro. Because of you, me and my family have been able to spot scams as well as avoid them and I've been able to warn others in my family of them. Sir Arthur was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time just by the randomness if his responses and it did waste the scammers time. I'd like to see more even if it's a compilation of calls for special occasions. If you called him Saint Nicholas for a Christmas AI special, would he affect Santa mannerisms? This is a real way that AI can be used for good. If we can get to a future where AI can be deployed on a mass scale that keeps scammers wasting their time forever, we might actually, finally see a reduction in the scammer market as they begin to realize that there are just as many, if not more scam bating AI's out there as there are call centers. Please Kit, do not give up on this, and I hope AI companies will work with you to relax the rules of usage to allow you to build the perfect mouse trap that will help put a stop to these scam calls so that nobody will have to be posting in your comments about how this "happened to a loved one of mine recently" ever again.
You seem to forget the fact that scammers have the same access to technology and can use AI to automatically scam people. No, OpenAI policies will not help since there are many open-source models.

I'm kind of worried if that technology gets out, people probably would start misuse it. Like people, who dont like twitter changes or something sony does, could use it to block those legit companies phone lines. Also what would stop scammers to change the prompt script to instead let thousands of AI bots call and attempt to scam people?

the approach the bot takes is just insane and so is the fact that the scammers goes along with it.

I found your channel about a year ago when I was going through difficult family issues. The comfort and laughter your videos gave me is something I’ll never forget. Now I’m a forever watcher. Thank you for helping people avoid scammers and lifting other people’s spirits.
The problem is this is an excellent example of the power of these tools, which can just as easily be used by scammers themselves.
Yep.... Give it a year or two and you won't get real scammers on the phone anymore, most of the scammers will be obsolete and bots will be run by just a few people, who never have to do their own talking. What's worse, he AI would be way smarter than those guys and there would be no obvious Indian accent. So..... Enjoy it while it lasts. Won't take them long to use this tool for evil. And then what will Kitboga do? Tie up scammer phone lines by having AIs talk to each other?
Soon there will be AI bots chatting to each other all the time, from both sides.

Watching Kitboga the master go from pilot of the airplane, to the bewildered passenger of a flight going down was absolutely hilarious. But then, the moment when he said "This is the future. I was here." (11:45) in all seriousness was very touching.

I start to believe that scammers themselves are actually one of the groups that most easily get scammed. Since the possibility of being scammed is rarely in their minds at the first place.
