Just love this. ...What encouragement this gives me. Thanks alot. Whow!
OMG, I wanna play ukulele professionally now! It's so fun! I love to play now and I wanna get into ukulele lessons! I love you guys!
Thanks for the comment!
I’ve been following this channel for a while and I was terrible at the ukulele but now I’m amazing my music teacher that hated me and how I play ukulele now loves me so ty!!! Omg I love this channel!! Ty again
Thanks for your post! As a music teacher, I can almost guarantee that your teacher didn’t ever hate you! We just have a lot to juggle at the same time, and it can be difficult to deal with students who don’t want to be in a class, especially if they consider that class “unnecessary.” But if you are coming to class fired up for ukulele, they are going to respond positively to that, as we all love to interact with others when we share common interests!
Very encouraging to find such positive conversation
From both sides
of the educating spectrum :-)
You are great!! Tysm for all your videos!
You are very welcome!
Strum Pattern (based on both personal preference and the actual tutorial linked): Intro: DDDDDDDDU (Last DU are quicker).
The bridge before the main melody (after the intro and in other parts) can go such as: DD UDU
Main melody (my person preference): DDU UDU x2 per each chord. On EM when there are two beat lyrics 'they say', 'you say,' 'ooh ooh,', play DDU UDU once and two strums on the lyrics.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks. Once I learn the lyrics by heart, I'll be flying! Appreciate the upload :) Good luck all my fellow Ukulele enthusiasts!
You are very welcome! Enjoy!
On Key! Great Playalong!
Thank you!
My strumming pattern for this song - slow parts - down mute, down mute, down mute, Fast parts - down down up, up down up. Have fun!!!!
Thank you for offering a strumming pattern. My suggestions are in the tutorial which is linked in the description.
I just figured out Em and this is the first thing I wanted to play
And now you can! Em is really useful, by the way.
What's is the strumming pattern?
@@angelparadise4038 How i do it is DddDddDd all down but give more power to Your 1St strum on the chord 4th and 7th
☝️😙👍👍
Me to!
Me gusto mucho me sirve a lo bien espero siga subiendo mas videos gracias
¡Gracias! Hay una lista donde hay más que 1200 otros videos (creo que 500 hay mio)...ukeplayalongs.com. ¡Es libre!
Love this song. I just got my uke and this is my first song. I figured out the notes!
The Em might be a little tricky for a beginner, but if you've watched my tutorial you can play a G chord and add your pinky for this version of the song (which makes Em, but it isn't always beneficial to play it that way). If that sounds confusing, check out the tutorial that is linked in the description!
Yeah It’s still hard for me to play a Em
Wow! Fantasting thanks for the keys! I envy this!
Thanks for the comment!
@@ukeplayalongs its no problem!

Hello! I wanted to make my youtube channel based around these types of videos! What do you use to make your videos?
I have a whole series on how I make these videos at my sister channel, CZcams.com/ukestuff. Be warned that any content you make like this cannot be monetized-nor can your channel, if you have play alongs on it.
Thanks :)
You’re welcome!
I love how u make the dance monkey song soooooooo cool
Thanks...but that isn't my work--it's just Tones and I.
My ukelele is a bit cracked. 😥 Do you know if a bit of glue could fix it up, or would I have to bring it in to a ukelele shop?
If it is an inexpensive ukulele, you can try letting some Titebond in the crack (wipe off excess with a wet cloth) and trying to make sure the cracks stay together.
If it is a more expensive ukulele, you’ll want to take it to a luthier, who may use a number of techniques to put it back together.
@@ukeplayalongs Thanks so much for the information! I will try to fix the crack as fast as possible so I can play more music during these hard times of the Covid-19 virus.
😭😢😕☹️
I was wondering if you could post a lay along called watching you by Rodney Atkins. Thank You

I got 2 questions:
1.
How long does it take to make a video?
2. How old are you
1. It depends on the.song, and I make at least three versions plus a tutorial. I’d say 6 hours for an “easy” song, up to 40 hours for a hard song. Thankfully most fall in the easier side of things.
2. Late 40’s. I’m a music teacher, currently teaching elementary music.
ukeplayalongs and gosh good one too thank you for relieving me from searching hours and hours for a Ike song when I can just come to your page and find you have saved me time and I owe it to you
ducky Quack nice question; @@ukeplayalongs thanks for answering; people take everything for granted but often don't understand the effort that's behind
ukeplayalongs I wish you where my music teacher mine is always complaining smh..
@madison Lol - Thank you that's very kind. I'm not going to lie...I've had some really great jobs and some challenging jobs as a teacher. I've done my best to keep a positive attitude at school even in the toughest times, and I've made plenty of mistakes over the years. If you've lived, you will have regrets.
What's important is that we learn from our experiences. We never really know what someone else is going through. There is an old saying that is often attributed to Native Americans but was written by Mary T. Lathrap in 1895 that says, "Remember to walk a mile in his moccasins." We don't know what others are going through or what challenges they have faced in life. It is REALLY hard to get past the surface. And some students can be really mean and disrespectful.
[Side note: my current students are wonderful, and most of the students I have taught in my career have been wonderful. Some of those that haven't been so great have even grown up and come back to apologize for their past behavior].
So I don't want to lecture you, or excuse your teacher's behavior. But I would encourage you to extend grace to them (and everyone else) as much as possible, and inasmuch (what a great word!) as you can, to encourage your fellow students to do so, too.
Thanks again for leaving a comment, and for playing along on the videos. I appreciate that you're allowing my work to help bring you joy in your own playing!
DDD DUUDUD sounds cool (one time per chords)
Thanks for your suggestion! My suggestions are in the tutorial that is linked in the description.
I learned dance monkey so fast
Congrats!
Alternative for the E major? Or just don't play it at all?
You could play one of the other versions of the song on the channel that is in other keys…
For the strumming pattern- personaly, i do v^v^v^v really fast- lol

What is the strum pattern
There's no right answer. I wrote a post in the community area of this channel about strumming patterns, so check that out. For people that cannot determine a pattern on their own, I offer solutions in the tutorial, which is linked in the description.
whats d strumming pattern?
There is a tutorial linked in the description where you can fast forward to strumming suggestions. It also might be good to check the community tab of this channel where I discuss strumming patterns in general! Thanks for watching the videos and leaving a comment!
Is there a strumming pattern?
There isn't one correct pattern, as there are many patterns that can work for the song. What is most important is keeping a steady beat with whatever pattern you are using and changing chords at the same time.
If you need a pattern and can't find one on your own, check out the suggested pattern that is in the tutorial that is linked in the description.

Thanks for your strumming suggestion; I offer mine in the linked video tutorial!
Umm.. which strumming pattern will sound better?
Check out the tutorial I made (there's a tutorial for each new song, which is why I can only put out one or two of these a week) which is linked in the description.

Que alguien me diga cómo es el rasgueo plis
I have a tutorial linked in the description which shows a strumming pattern. It is in English, but hopefully the strumming part should be of some value to you.
I play with ukulele
Excellent! Keep playing!
Also, what is the strumming pattern? I'm a little confused so I just go "D D D D" D= down btw

..... ummm what is the strumming pattern?
1) Check out the statement on Strumming Patterns in the community area of this channel
2) Watch the tutorial video that is linked in the description if you can't figure out a strumming pattern on your own
3) Read through the comments and find a strumming pattern you like from one of the other comments.
Tones and I didn't use ukulele. There is no single "right" answer to a strumming pattern. Again, read the longer statement on strumming patterns for more.
lolll
*Agressive down strum*
That would work!
My music teacher made us do this. Geez G is hard
G is the second most used chord in ukulele music (I keep track of all the chords used in this video, and there is another ukulele resource page that does the same--where I had the idea). And it's by a significant amount.
I think of G as a "gateway" chord...the first chord that makes you realize that the ukulele isn't a one-or-two finger instrument that can be learned in 10 minutes. And it also allows you to look back in the future when faced with other challenges and think, "This might be hard, but I thought G was hard at one point, too."
Stick with it. Keep practicing. G will eventually feel easy. And then you'll be moving on to far harder things.
whats the strumming pattern?
If you want my suggestions, I have a tutorial linked in the description. A number of people have also posted their opinions in the comments to this video.
