- In this video, I'll be hunting $1 Bills for Star Notes and Fancy Serial Numbers! I picked up 10 bank straps ($1,000) of federal reserve $1 notes from a local bank in order to search for Star Notes and Fancy Serial Numbers! Check your bills everyone - there's good finds still out there!
I just got into currency searching recently so I am learning as I go. I appreciate any feedback or comments you may have!
If I missed something be sure to let me know!
I hope you enjoy this hunt with me. Do you prefer me:
1) Telling you what I am seeing during the hunt?
2) Just showing the finds?
Do you also search currency for star notes, cool serial numbers and old bills? If so, what denominations? What is your best serial # score or your oldest bill found?
I hope you enjoyed the video!
I plan on posting new ones weekly so please subscribe if you wish to see more: goo.gl/7jX6g5

RobFindsTreasure search $10k in ones
Rob, really awesome finds on the $5 and the $20 bills. In the quick look, I didn't notice the security strip in the $20. Is it there? Don't want you spending a counterfeit !!!!
Diggin' w/ Rob!
Flthunder holy cow! Great eye....🤔
(I used to be in Security for a fortune 500 company and got called to look at bills that we were taking in every single day)
Diggin' w/ Rob!
you mixed up 25 dollars with 23 dollars
Damn! You just scored $23 extra dollars! I've never seen that before. Hit that bank a few times to see if there are anymore lucky straps like that
Jeffrey Davis crazy! Never seen that!
Never thought a 20 or a 5 would appear in a stack of ones. Scored myself two silver dimes yesterday, 1964 and a 1946. Great hunt Rob.
Andrew Myers That’s awesome Andrew - congrats! I hope you get more silver in your next hunts!

Great Video! Went to my Credit Union last year and got $500.00 in ones, I found (2) $10 dollar bills and (1) $20.00 bill. Somehow it does happen. No complaints here!
Bama MoonDog Wow! I guess it does happen every so often.
Some banks take packs write customer name or number on them and count later if they are busy(or lazy).
Understanding they are on film and responsible for missing funds and pay when short at the end of shift and they do not keep anything if its over.
Thanks for the explanation! I couldn't figure out how that kind of mistake could happen.
Nice finds there Rob. Thanks for sharing.
Shirl Bussman Thank you Shirl!
I love your bill hunts. Pulled a lot of trinaries which is real cool.
David Garcia Thanks David. I’m glad you liked it. I enjoy doing them. Happy Hunting to you too!
That happened to me too, except with coins, I brought $500 in coins to the bank to get counted and they said their coin counter’s scanner kept breaking and I wound up leaving with $530
Watching this on my phone and i dropped it when i saw that 5!!Thats awesome, great bonus there.
bubmurphy thank you! Hope the phone is still okay!
RobFindsTreasure Hahaha its all good man,i just hadn't seen that before, and i watch a lot of these videos. That was fantastic!!
Awesome
That moment you realize you have had star notes, and spent them because you didnt know what they were.
I spent a buffalo nickel before and every night I think about It and regret it
How about all those silver coins that slipped through my grasp years ago
Rob, do ya look for birthday notes? I've decided to pull them all now 'cause there are so many looking for their birthdays. Regardless of what ya find, it's always fun to go through them! Thanks for sharing.
the 1999 bill had everything but a 5 and 6! nice serial number!
I have a trianary radar note in really good condition how much do they go for
I have a questions about the letters on the $1 bills. I know the large Letter is for the Federal Reserve and I believe the first letter before the serial # should be the same. Now my question is what is the letter after the serial #? I had watched a video once saying the letter "X" letter at the end of the serial are rear. What can you tell me. Thanks.
Excellent
All I could think every time you said I made $23 bucks was someone lost there job. Ouch!
No one lose their job because that is fake.
Too bad he wasn't filming it live.
Rob you have the best luck.👍
Cool
I have a star note on a one in great condition how much would it be worth ??
Did you check that 95 to see if it was a web note? I have yet to find one
What do u do with star notes I have 9 star note dollar bills and a star note 2006 old $100 bill
Congrats!
so your keeping non star 1999 notes that are in rough shape with tears in it?
I’ve gotten dimes in penny rolls before. I also got one quarter roll that was a quarter short but who ever rolled it out 2 dimes and a buckle in there so the amount was correct lol
I almost got a radar $100 bill today from work. I got a series 1995 with the serial number 'AB 12144797 W'
Close but no cigar
Jeffrey Davis Dang! Story of my life...
I used to have a dollar that was so old the ink on it was a deep green. I believe from the 30’s.
I used to be the bookkeeper at a supermarket. In one bundle of $1000 in singles I found 2 $100 bills. I called the bank to let them know and they said that was impossible. So I told my manager and he decided to use the extra money to buy office supplies.
🤣
Woop woop
You lucky 🐕
where do you find these?
Ayy I’m from Minnesota!
Why did you come all the way up to Minnesota ?
Great video. So close to 1000 subscribers, didn't you just hit 500 last week?
"That's a free box of pennies right there." Spoken like a true coin roll hunter. Talk about going to the bank to get paid! No X notes, huh?
Can you elaborate on x notes?
Hi Rob what's up with the star notes????
1:55 Whoever made that strap probably made it with an electronic currency counter and didn't set it to remove any strangers from the strap selection. They have multiple modes such as "Mixed" (which just counts out whatever you put in), "Strap" (which you can put a giant stack of cash into and it will stop counting after 100 bills of the selected denomination, while removing any strangers), etc. They probably set it to "Mixed" and just stopped it when it hit $100. I guarantee you if you counted that strap out, you'd come up with $100. If not, I certainly hope you went back to the bank and informed them - you may have very well saved the teller's job as those are clearly bank straps and not Fed straps.
Was the 1995 a web note?
Ok, I'm new to searching dollar bills what is a trinary serial number??
I feel grateful and happy to be abundance of the universe.
I have a bundle of $1,000 uncirculated $1's . The sticker from BEP says CLEV $1 BRK..... which is series D.... BUT... the top, and only face visible bill in the bundle is series E, Richmond and it's a STAR note!.... Does anyone know if that means this whole bundle is STAR notes????
RobFindsTresher I love that name
That insane that it happened because the teller usually uses a machine to count each srap
Hobby Lobby I know. I’ve never seen it! Crazy...
How much over face value is 320,000 print run?
Wow you’re So lucky Rob. I can’t believe you made $23 on a bank strap.
Motivation
Rob it would be cool if you did 10,000$ in ones OR halves
Cointelligenc e that's insane
Cointelligenc e totally Insane, but... hmmm...
RobFindsTreasure lol imagine doing that many pennies!😂 would literally take you a year to search them😂
Did you go to the bank to take that out cause I’m trying to go to the club
Should try a $1000 in $2???? 🤔🤔🤔
Save Dat Money I’m going to do it!
Yes
Do it
Maybe get lucky and find a red seal
Or $2000 and make it 1000 $2 bills 😀
THAT ALOT OF $ 1 AND $ 5 AND $ 20 DOLLAR BILLS MEN !!!
How can I get my strapped money straight from the federal reserve that my local bank teller’s haven’t picked through?
Ask for sealed bricks of them- I but them for the business and suggest that I prefer them sealed so I know I am not missing any bills.
I think the $25 was a plant. Seem very odd! Banks don't make those mistakes.
It was odd indeed. I appreciate the skepticism as it’s not likely, but it did happen.
Getting closer to the 1K Milestone!
Your almost to 1k subscribers!!!!!!!!!
Corbin Williams crazy!!!
Look for web notes too
Would be nice if you mention how much for what you find, sorts about its value :-)
What's a Trinary? And how can you tell it's a star note? Thanks for the videos
Thomas Gruver a trinary is a serial number made up of only 3 Numbers. A Star note is a serial number that has an asterisk or a Star after the Numbers... Star Notes are replacement notes for bad bills or damaged bills. It’s illegal to reproduce the bill with the same serial number so they replace them with a star note. That’s why they are more rare. Typically they are produced in amounts ranging from 150K - 6.5M print runs. Obviously you want the ones with low print runs to fetch a premium but most star notes hold some value above face value.l since they are collectible.
Great, thanks for the info and the video!
hope u get a few hundreds man
you must live in Wisconsin?
Two days ago I paid for a water at a liquor store with a ten and in my change I had two star notes
And one of the star notes the serial number has a 69
Just got a 5 in s stack of ones

Well lucky you
Soua Yang Thank you! ☺️
7/21 is my b-day 😎
At least the Texas bank paid you interest....😁
Congratulations on finding $5 and $20 in a strap.
Dang I'm july 25 1992, I really wanna find my own birthday note haha
Any 1$ Bills from 1988A-1995 You should be looking for Web Notes.
this is crazy 😨 $1000 dollar bill stack 1 dollar bill 5 dollar and 20 dollar bill oh will 😀
What about 10,000 in ones
Bo Myers Insanity! But I like the way you think!
RobFindsTreasure you would have to go to a LOT of banks
I got two 5's in a stack of twenties from an ATM once
Crazy mistake of $5 and $20
Cointelligenc e I know! Some poor teller... 😌
Crazy fake mistake.
You got a 5 Right next to the 20
You’re officially the luckiest person I know
Jeff Kitch Really? I have never found a V Nickel, even after 50 Boxes. You searched 2 and got one... 😁
RobFindsTreasure this is true but you’ve also found loads of Buffalo Nickels, unheard of amounts of proofs, magic coins, blank coins, ridiculous amounts of foreigns, the completely unheard of $20 and $5 in a 1 strap, not to mention your MD finds. 🤔
Jeff Kitch True - but I do hunt 50X more than you do. You should get back into the hobby. MD w/me this Spring?
I have a question did you make the intro in Imovie?
I do! Simple but effective - rather spend the money on coins!
Not yet, nice extra 25
how do you store your bills?
That coin kid In tip loaders. I may show them in a video soon!
I would've laughed had there been 25 missing ones in the first strap
Money is safe to me use well in a good position
Short video, just tell what you start with and find. I would like you to value them/what a collector will pay. thank you.
Found in your first pack 3:35 in video....24903718 All different numbers - I collect this type in any condition.
FIBER0PTIC HELL oh my... great eye - makes sense with fiberoptic as part of your name! I pull out ladders but not usually ones with all different numbers. Luckily, I kept it because it’s a pre-2000 bill. Is there a demand for these bills or just your preference? Thanks for noticing and for watching!
-FIBER0PTIC HELL is/was the name of my c64 BBS from the late 80's early 90's.. :)
-Demand. yes if you can find the correct name of what ppl call them. I could not find a standard except for Ladders. I found things like 12234456 in order and 12345888 with a Small Ladder or Mini Ladder used as keywords. If I was to pick a new name for 8 #'s all different any order example:42386751 I would suggest "Mixed Ladders" because it would get the Ladder keyword and may help eBay listings.
-I have been looking for this type over two decades $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 & $100. Rough guess I have 500+/- of them 20+/- are $100 and again just a guess $3,500ish invested in them. I place them in sequential order and my goal was to get 1000 notes where the first 3 numbers are different. example:###xxxxx.
-A few years ago I kept 7 different numbers any order, however, I don't think it's worth anything above face value.
-8 different #'s any order I also think is not worth much over face value unless combined with some other factor to make the note special or its part of a large collection.
-I don't think I have ##xxxxxx complete yet, some of the 8's and 9's are elusive!
-I plan on mounting all in a frame for display.
-I would consider buying the last 10% of the bills needed to finish.
-I will make a video of my collection and upload it to your channel or something to that effect. Maybe you can edit the video with a voice over and highlight notes of added value(Errors, Stars, Misprints etc).
-What is the value of 8 numbers any order?
-What to call 8 numbers any order? #MixedLadders, see if it sticks? Make a video, ask others for suggestions.
Hey how much do trianary radar go for in really good condition
I think I saw a 100 in there to
Soua Yang lol ! That would be nice!
Cool video helped me I found a $1 serial number # E17700771F what would this be called?

R u gonna sell them
Soua Yang I’ll probably give them away to my subs. I may also hold on to a few too!
you should try a thousand dollars in 2$ bills and/or $10,000 in 1$ bills.
Dude, with the last question I can't answer yes or no.
3:35 broken ladder (7-4)
I think it’s time to push hard; go to BofA and try 2,000?
I searched $250 in 1s and somehow found 6 star notes with one being a sheet note
In that I also found a 00178000 bill
Are you interested in the 100.00 * note that I have? I checked it online and it said that it’s closer to the rare end of their description ?
