The Day CYPRES Saved My Life: Alex Ogden

- Every skydive is built from many variables. Sometimes a CYPRES save is created by a freak occurrence with no conscious contribution from any human participant. Sometimes decisions are made at points along the way that affect the outcome.
In March of 2019 over Spaceland Dallas, Alex Ogden was knocked out following a collision with another jumper shortly after exit on an otherwise pretty straightforward wingsuit jump. Alex would then go into a prolonged and violent flat spin for the entire remaining vertical distance, only regaining consciousness after touching down under his reserve canopy in a Texas field.

LOVE the ground rush. Horizon is much calmer and seems longer, then look straight down and everything is coming up fast to gobble you up.

Thank you cypress. I got to learn more about my own life saving equipment (i have a cypress in my rig) at the perris fresh meet 2023. This video is so fucking scary I dont have proper words. I also do not have proper words for the relief of seeing his aad go off and save him. Holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck. Thank you for the lives youve saved and the work that goes into each and every device. I hope I never NEED mine, but Im very thankful i have it.

Dumb question for sure but what hit him? And would the spin been that violent if he wasn’t wearing the wing suit?
Another wingsuiter hit him and knocked him unconscious. This was a serious mid air collision. Luckily, happy ending at the end. Guy lived and recovered.
How in the fuck did that flat spin slow down?

I use Your AAD. I never had to use it. I hope i never will. But it's good to know that the best available equipment on the market is watching my ass. Thank You. Thank You so much.

This guy who I don’t know personally looked like he was in a fight. Soo much blood went to his face and feet. He had black eyes and a puffy head.

Влетел в штопор. Перегрузка с вектором голова-ноги - отток крови от головного мозга. Гипоксия мозга с потерей сознания.
