    Rublev is just the best underdog to root for at the moment. It's endearing how hard on himself he is. If I were a pro, I feel like I wouldn't be able to resist acting similarly. All of his on-court anger, however it may seem, is never directed at anyone other than himself. It's evident that he's a sensitive, gentle, thoughtful, cool dude off-court and so I'm very happy to see him with this confidence boost - he deserves it after the hell he puts himself through. Can't wait til he can transcend his frustration and get that grand slam semi 🙂

    the quality of the game plummeting, how much we miss Roger Federer, for me the Fritz, Rublev, Sinner etc. are competitive players (there is no doubt), but without any tennis quality that makes them great.

      @eis8041 Před 16 dny

      Fritz is in a much lower category than Sinner & Rublev so I can agree with that one.. but the other 2 are phenomenal players, playing on different courts, with different equipment etc that what existed in the past - the game evolves new ways.. And you can still appreciate the past without disparaging the present.

      He has a back / vertebrae issue that seems to have resurfaced. He put on too much muscle in a really short period of time, so no surprising the added bulk is affecting his skeletal frame.

    Auger Aliassime was incredibly lucky, he reached the final without playing 3 matches and he also got a lot of ATP points that he doesn't deserve, it doesn't seem fair to me.

      How does the other player getting injured or not wanting to risk further injury and retiring become FAA's fault or unfair? Incredibly lucky, yeah 100% in an unfortunate way but he totally deserves to be where he is and has had a great week including a win over an in-form Ruud. What's FAA supposed to do? "Ah the others got injured so I'm going to give up being in the final cause I got lucky and it's not fair to the other players?" Makes zero sense lol
