Fresh Basil

I was concerned when you were adding the shrimp so early to the crockpot. It amazes me that they didn't overcook. I would love to try this.

I use my crock pot all year long, especially in the summer.
For the berry dessert I would leave the 1/2 cup of sugar out. The berries & the cheese as well as the granola & ice cream have enough sweetness. This is a great easy recipe. ❤
Marscapone cheese is tangy. I would add the sugar the first time I make it, then adjust as necessary.
Yes! I totally use my crockpot in the summer. It is 100° with a "feels like" 110° here in Texas. Turning my oven on just makes my air conditioner work even harder. I made ribs in the crockpot today. All your recipes look amazing. They will be put into my meal plan for next week. I think I'll make the shrimp scampi first! Thanks guys! Love from Texas ❤

I would rather use my crockpot than my oven in the summer.
I’m born and raised in Louisiana, when I was little we would go to the boats as they were coming in from the Gulf of Mexico and buy shrimp off the boats. Seafood in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, & Florida (near the gulf) just hits differently than anywhere else.

Summer is the best time to use your Crockpot. My husband was always so happy in the Summertime if dinner was grilled outside or made in the Crockpot.

I live in Phoenix, so during the summer I live to use the crockpot (I always use a liner)! Anything to not have to turn on the oven!!

I grew up going to Myrtle Beach and we have always got our produce and seafood from the little roadside stand that is on the opposite side of the road (in front of Walmart) from Ocean Lakes/Pirate Land area. The folks are so sweet and the seafood is the fresh catch from the boats coming in from Murrels Inlet. And the best peaches ever in July.

I couldn't agree more about the 2 qt slow cookers! I have 3! We are empty nesters and dont want 3 meals of leftovers from a recipe. I will often have all 3 going with an entree and sides all cooking with a cool kitchen 🎉 That is KEY for a SC 6 month summer! I love it here but DERN! IT IS HAWT❤

I have a small crockpot too and I love it! 😘 It's about 2 quarts and I've made wonderful meals for 4 people. It's also great for cooking dried beans. It's amazing how much this little thing holds! 😋
It's a little bigger than the crockpots that are used for making queso and it's a little power house! Crockpots are great in the winter for making those warm comforting meals and they're a lifesaver in the summer when you don't want to heat up the kitchen! 😚
It's been so hot here, reaching over 100° with a heat index up to 118°! 🥵 Yesterday was the first day of summer but we've been feeling the heat for weeks! 🔥 I watched this video last night and was going to write a comment but all of a sudden we had a huge thunderstorm roll in!⛈️
It was thundering so loud and the lightening kept getting closer and closer and the electricity started flashing off and on until the internet was out for the night.😔
But the best thing about it was the cooler weather, finally some relief from the scorching heat! ☺️
I've never seen shrimp scampi made in a crockpot but it looked so wonderful!👍
And I love pound cake with fruit and some whipped cream! 🍓🍑
The chicken with peaches also looked amazing!🍑 I love adding fruit to meat dishes, they give it a great flavor! I often add apples to pork and sometimes add sweet potatoes too! 🤤
We have incredible peaches in Texas! I had a friend who had a peach orchard and I would get bushels of them and make peach cobbler and pickled peaches!🍑 Now I'm really craving peaches!😁 Such a wonderful summer treat! 🤩

I own 5 crockpots. These things are used constantly in my kitchen. Every time I go to a wedding shower, I always give a large and small crockpot plus a crockpot cookbook as a gift. That dessert looks amazing and will be made next Sunday.

How long would you anticipate needing to cook the shrimp if they were frozen? I live in the midwest and am SO wishful for your amazing fresh seafood! My husband loves to hunt and fish. I bet bunky’s thumb was throbbing I’ve done that and like day 3-5 is the most painful. I love gulf shrimp 🍤. You can take a fork to devein shrimp makes it so much easier. You should try a caprese salad for summer. Have you seen the TikTok trend recipe for chicken using white cheddar popcorn for crust it looks delicious. I did try the Big Mac tacos and they were amazing.

Yes, I have used the crockpot in the summer and totally agree that I love the small one for my husband and me. It is plenty big enough. Have never made a dessert in a crockpot. That will definitely be new territory. Love the great ideas you come up with. You and your husband are so cute together.
