Thank u for revealing new insights about the Holy Spirit through the book of “Acts”. The formation of the church & its growth amidst persecutions, through the power of the promised Holy Spirit is evident. Jesus has entrusted each one of us with the most important task of being His witnesses by proclaiming the gospel, His gift of salvation n eternal life to everyone who believes. Jesus has completed His work of redemption & now it’s our responsibility to take up the unfinished work of sharing the good news of the gospel with humanity. We are usually hesitant to proclaim the gospel & we find numerous excuses to refrain n escape from this responsibility. God doesn’t call the qualified but He qualifies the called. It’s important to understand that. Our profession should not & cannot be a hindrance for pursuing God’s work . God gives all members of His church spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit, which we are to use for the benefit of the church & humanity. To fulfill this great mission an in-depth knowledge of the truth, deep love for God & His word, living by the truth, practicing what we preach & an encounter with the resurrected Christ are all very much required.
Man was born by the breath ( Spirit ) of God. At that time the Holy Spirit is AROUND ( with ) us, making us conscious of sin n the need of a Savior & pointing us to Christ. The HS is there with us now because of the sovereign grace of God. We must not sin against the HS by rejecting Christ for which there’s no forgiveness. The HS will not contend with us forever. There will come a time when the HS will be taken away then the world will spiral out of control n be a living hell. Man was born again by the breath of God. Jesus “breathed on the fearful disciples locked in the room and said to them: 'Receive the Holy Spirit'” When we decide to follow Christ n surrender our lives to Him we are born again, by the HS & He now lives IN us, so we must be careful not to grieve the HS. He has sealed us for the day of redemption. People are not able to acknowledge Christ because the HS is not in them. When we are baptized by the HS , the HS comes UPON us to accomplish a purpose. In the Bible we see the HS coming upon Moses, Joshua, Gideon and many more for a purpose When we grieve or quench the HS, He leaves our presence. There’s always a period of waiting to receive the HS. Jesus had given His disciples the great commission but they were told to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit which they would need to be His witnesses. ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty. So Jesus has delegated us with the crucial task of continuing the work of Jesus until His return, to bring everyone to Christ. Is any other job more vital for us than the one Jesus has commanded ? It’s time to seriously ponder!

Briefly said, the Holy Spirit lives in us, protects us, guides us, and when we are commissioned for a purpose, the Holy Spirit empowers us for it. People who have done great things for God are those who were empowered by the Holy Spirit. For instance, Peter who denied his acquintance with Christ was indeed preaching Christ without fear; transformation of Paul on his very first encounter with the Lord, martyrdom of Stephen etc.
Hi Cherry, Had a question. You mentioned about Holy Spirit 'IN" us. The disciples received it after Jesus breathed to them after the resurrection. But then even during Jesus ministry, they were able to do miracles. Did they receive the Holy Spirit before itself then?
