I just watched this video and my heart goes out to you💗 We recently had our first foster placement and he was also newborn baby boy, he was the perfect baby! While we knew he’d only be staying temporarily we immediately got attached. It’s so hard to see them leave even when you’re happy for them. Thankyou for all the content you put on CZcams, it’s been very inspiring!
Congratulations on your first foster placement! That is so wonderful! In our experience, the first foster placement is the absolute HARDEST to let go! We almost didn't foster after our first newborn from the hospital left. :( So glad we did though....If not, we wouldn't have our four amazing daughters! Excited for your journey ahead! I’m sorry you weren’t able to say good bye. I’m sure you’ve had plenty new babies since this video though and loved them all equally. Foster care: the name of the game is reunification. It sucks but it’s what we signed up for. 💜💜💜
Yes! That's so the truth! The goal is always reunification! And what a blessing when that can happen successfully!
What about when the goal is not reunification, like, in cases of child abuse?
Is the procedure and process different for a child who is not going back to a dangerous situation?
Maybe I’m cynical, but please correct me if I’m wrong but I think reunification is encouraged because it’s cheaper for the state then to have more children to handle.
