So many people are giving criticism (CZcams comments I know) on a video with insane amounts of quality.
Everyone's mad that he doesn't battle them before catching them, saying "This isn't Pokemon Go you have to battle". In the actual games, especially in the earlier levels with level 5-10 wild Pokemon, you can catch them about 80% of the time with just a pokeball without actually battling.
Some are complaining about the pokemon looking like demons. He was simply trying to make them appear more realistic. Having the cute little pokemon like the Pokemon Go models would juxtapose with the the outdoor shots (however I'll agree that squirtle was terrifying)
It sucks to see such a beautifully done video receive such negative feedback, especially from the Pokemon Go people who pretend they like Pokemon, and the People who've played maybe one or two games (probably red/blue and gold/silver) who think they like Pokemon. True Pokemon fans will love this video, it's done well and really had me wondering what Pokemon in the real world would look like.

Well...
Taking data from Fire Red, I figured out that before Brock, the max amount of EXP you can get from battling is about 50 (Using Weedle as a example).
Punching in the EXP requirements for a Charmander to become level 36, and dividing it by 50, you would have to defeat about 2,792 Pokemon to have your Charmander evolve into a Charizard.
Unless I fucked up my math somewhere...

You guys have to understand that there was a lot of effort put in this and you should at least appreciate it for that. Even if the gameplay is different

I don't know about masterpiece. the part that really annoyed me was the fact that they never battled to capture any of those pokemon. that and they never actually showed them getting captured. don't get me wrong it was pretty good and the flaws do not out weight the good, but still no masterpiece.
