you're telling me homeboy hears the Pokédex identify it as a living creature and still says lets throw it in the garbage?
Fr😂😂
The dad hates Pokémon because they were the cause of his wife’s death. Which we absolutely could have made more clear 😅 The newspaper article has the story there. And at first he just throws it out. Being skeptical of it being actually alive or not. Then thinking his daughter just brought it back in he takes it out and gives it a good look still wondering if it’s alive or not because it doesn’t seem to be. (Part of Banette’s personality) Then when banette shows up sitting on his daughters bed and the dad thinking the Pokémon is breaking in and coming into his daughters room he wants to lock it up and burn it. This is a harsh reaction but from a man who recently lost his wife to a Pokémon we thought it felt real. He has that temptation to burn it but ultimately doesn’t go through with it. We tried to play on a lot of subtext but thought I’d just share with you some of our thoughts and I hope that helps to see with what is happening in the story. We are SO appreciative of you watching it and we are always trying to improve as filmmakers/storytellers! ☺️
@@zogwin I noticed the newspaper piece and the subtext alright, the only thing that wasn't very clear is what was the "unknown" pokemon not even the pokedex could identify. My guess would be a haunter tho, as those are really creepy in the game pokedex lore and known to attack humans.

Given how horrific some Poxedex entries are, I don't think I'd let my kids out of the house without a Lv 50 something to protect them.
Imagine if he didn't activate the ultra ball before he threw it and just ended up beaning Mimikyu in the face with a 90mph fastball.

I like how at the beginning, Banette started as a raggedy old cloth doll, and slowly became more developed as the film went on. Also lived the Mimikyu. I can imagine it's mad because Banette stole it's cloth.
Surprised it didn't try to rip apart her Pikachu plushie, carve out the stuffing and use it as a costume.

@@user-CassRack4207 I thought the same, they should've traded with an experienced trainer who could control it, and get a normal type as a pet. (Normal so thay they can't deal nor get superefective damage with banette)
Just wow, this was awesome. And for those who say Banette looks too “Cloth and fake” that’s the point of Banette it’s a LITERAL living doll, your Banette design is exactly how I would picture a real life Banette looking

You can examine my channel, which has a different and relaxing perspective.
Very neat! Theres a couple things that prod at my brain though.
Both Banette and the Mimikyu seem to act in decent contrast to what their lore suggests, with Banette being vengeful and seeking revenge, and Mimikyu being desperate for acceptance as well as not wanting to be seen as anything other than its disguise. Makes me wonder who damaged it or hurt its disguise.
Also as far as the family goes, in a Pokemon world, one would hope they’d send that ball off to a center or something, instead of just whacking it into the woods, for someone to inevitably find and release a pissed off and abandoned Pokemon.
This was incredible! Very well done! I love that Banette was the hero in the end.
The reason why mom is in the game instead of dad is
'Mom would've let me go on a journey when im 10' not Dad😂🤣
Lmao I just realized in all the games it’s a mom. Always mom.
😆😆😆 i got what you mean...

Ok from what I got from the newspaper clipping is that the mom Maggie was in a Pokémon battle with a fellow trainer but a stray Pokémon attack was accidentally thrown off course and was about to hit a bystander so she got in the way but lost her life instead. That’s why the dad doesn’t want his child to become a trainer he doesn’t want to lose her too and why he’s doesn’t really like Pokémon for he blames them for his wife’s death
Nailed it!☺️

I think it´s safe to say that everyone assumed that Banette was gonna be the villain of this story
probably because of its Pokedex entry
I think that was the point. It was a very good plot twist.
I see the hood in banette always. I didn’t think it would be the villain. Probably because it’s my fave ghost type
Yea I wonder why? Couldn’t have been the name “ Banettes curse “ that gave you that conclusion
It's also said that caring for them can calm them. So when the girl really wanted to keep it, I think it formed an attachment to her.
I love how banette uses the needle which I think that’s really cool.
They made banette really adorable for some reason. The sounds it made was so adorable.but the sound of it getting hurt is sad 😢.
Plus it’s interesting how you guys took mimikyu’s direction. Really cool.
Hope you do more of these in the future.

There were episodes in the new season that shows that pokemon can kill people. Cofagrigus kidnaps a human and traps them in a coffin to mummify them. Trapinch hides in the sand waiting for prey and creates a whirpool of a quick sand with it on the center and gobbles them up. Eternatus is an appocalyptic pokemon that makes pokemon gigantamax and destroy everything on their path.
Uxie can open its eyes and cause mass destruction and if yevatal dies everyone and thing dies
That was awesome! :D (and the Banette doll is adorable! I want one!!)
The algorithm powera that be brought me to tbis video. I normally bash on CZcams's algorithic shenanigans, but this time they dis a good job. This was a phenomenal video. This literally puts most live action Pokemon vids to shame easily. The acting, effects, music, all of it was fantastic.
This is legit the best Pokémon horror content out there: it's not overly edgy and doesn't rely on cheap tricks like gore and cursing (in the bad word sense, I mean), it's well acted, and it uses 100% canon facts. Great job!
And it actually had a sweet ending. For the most part.

We thought of that too but as we felt it out and thought if a Pokémon were to break into your house and tried to murder your daughter, we felt like it was a more honest ending for him to want to be rid of it all together. It just felt right for the story we were trying to tell. ☺️
Regardless this movie was amazing! Thank you for all the time and effort put on this! I enjoyed it thoroughly.
And also mimikyu is an OP pokemon
Mimikyu is blasting off again!
I am a Japanese pokémon trainer living in Japan.
My favorite Pokemon is Juppeta(Banette is Juppeta in Japanese).
For some reason, it suddenly appeared as a recommendation.
Thanks to that, I am happy to have come across a video from three years ago.
I am happy to meet a film in which Juppeta plays the main role.
However, I was never able to fully understand this film.
There are several doubts.
Why was Juppeta in this house?
Why did Mimikyu attack Amber?
Why did Juppeta help Amber?
I've come up with my own answers to these questions, but I don't really know the answers.
My favorite pokemon is Huzumatika... 👍😇
I love the custom made doll for them.
It’s so much better than just using one from target or the substitute doll like in the anime.
"Hey amber you get the privilege of bringing in the very last box"
Sir, that's the *only* box
Not to mention, its the box with her dead moms stuff in it. Not exactly the most aware father, is he?

Plot twist/sequel: the mimikyu is cared for and loved by the family that found it
The happy ending
And then they accidentally look at it and die

bruh, throwing away a newly caught Pokemon and with a BASEBALL BAT?! That is ABANDONMENT, SIR! but for real, this film is so well made. the realistic depiction of Banette is so cute too

Maybe having more than one ghost pokemon per house is a lot of trouble?
Anyway, this is still great and I'd love to see more live action pokemon stuff from these guys.
I was going to say the same thing if they couldn't help it out at all maybe they could have sewn it one of the covers 🤦🏼♀️
That's a really good point actually.
10:05 god damn that moment got me, i literally grabbed and my head with both hands and shook for a second
honestly though this was an amazing project and exact proof that a live action pokemon series is doable while still being grounded in reality
Very intimate! This was very good. Simple but the conflict and relationship with the pokemon was nice
This was a really good film. I especially liked the juke you guys threw to make the audience think Banette is the one behind everything, when really it was an undisguised Mimikyu causing the problems, and Banette was actually trying to protect them because the girl started caring for it. The subtle hints that not everything was as it seemed really helped sell the story.
Epic.
But i hope they add a single Second to the overall V-Length,
so its not such a dumb number.
We need more Real Life Pokemon made by People;
not Hollywood (duh, cause they are very woke now).
So i hope they dive into Pokemon,
seeing as this channel barely does so.
This channel and one of the top-comment also saying to be moviemakers, have barely any Pokemon-Content. Which is sad.
Very. We need much, much more, even if it needs Kickstarter and such to do so!
I also like how smart the Little Girl showed herself to be;
but then in the same second, the Father sure reacted weirdly.
After all, she has totally proven ist a Pokemon and not a Doll - so what was
that?
Wow
