For the table, sand it down, paint it with a flat or eggshell white finish and then finish it with a water based polyurethane top coat.
The setup with boys and girls apartments reminds me of Friends! The rug placement is 2023 version of PIVOT 😂 So glad you are painting - it turned out great!

Fusion paint is really good for a smooth even finish on furniture, you don’t need to seal it but if it’s a high traffic area I’d recommend

Put some resin on top to smooth it or a slab of glass could work. Another option is laminate a smooth veneer in the top
