- My dad requested that I take a walk and show the Leon Aerodromo or Sutiava Airport (Leon Airport.)

I also wrote a book called "Linux Administration Best Practices". It helps me a lot when people buy it from Amazon.

Thanks, Scott! Very interesting and always love the walks to get a glimpse of areas. Some really cool looking spots.
Thanks for sharing incredibly interesting walk around the airport and local community 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I love doing these walks.
Very interesting video Scott, a bit long but very interesting. Thanks..
Thanks for the airport and surrounding area tour. It was fun to follow along with a map although you lost me pretty close to the end.
This started off sketchy... I was thinking you must really love your dad to go on a big walk through burning trash for him, lol. So many cool houses hidden in those neighborhoods!
"This started off sketchy...", The Scott Alan Miller story.
You’re wild! 🤣😂! I wouldn’t have walked through there.
I wouldn't call it wild. That's a very tame area.
Ain airport in Leon?Didnt know about this!
It a.... hidden gem? jaja. Even people who live in Leon rarely know anything about it.
Many of these Notifications _were_ 25K 2018 and prion - 9 or 10M by 18 to 20M house of 80 to 100m^2 -
Now the typical is 35 to 45 - An example would be Lotification El Coyotepe just across the street from our house in Masaya. The reason that they are that price that high is the financing. If you are financing (as many young Nicaraguan middle-class people do) there is not much wiggle room n pricing. If you were to pay cash of course you can negotiate pricing.
Right, makes sense. If you pay cash, you can probably get the old prices. But no one does, so no one talks about it. The place I saw here, I doubt anyone has considered talking about buying one of those in many years. I wonder if the number even goes anywhere!
I think a real airport is needed in this part of the country
Very much so.
Really! An airport in Leon? 1/30/2023
For real! We hear the planes every so often.
Very cool. Of the 25 or so of your videos I have seen that was my favorite. I have seen the airport from the secondary roads but most of those tiny tertiary roads I have not been on.
Somewhere around the Northeast side away from the airport there is a recycling plant I have visited. Directly south of the Mercadito about 1 - 1.5 Km or so.
Back when the region economy was exploding in 2017 and the 1st Half of 2018 the rumor was the government had a plan to rebuild that airport into a small International Airport and beef up and extend the runway to support 737s and smaller commercial plants. Sadly I haven't heard anything about that since. But if that level of tourism and growth returns in the next couple of years I guess it is possible they could resurrect that rumored plan.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That would be so amazing. If it just offered hoppers to Mexico, San Salvador, PTY, CDMX, Guate, San Juan... some of those would be amazing. DOesn't have to go far to make it really useful.
That’s the house number 🤣. It’s just that every house in Nicaragua has a number but it’s not used. In Managua some addresses are like ‘900 4.° Ave SE.’ etc, same for other cities.
I see a lot of those and am normally aware of them. This particular one is very "could be a year" compared to most.
@@ScottAlanMillerVlog it could be, but considering that most of Nicaragua was very rural in the 1920s, but you could be right.
Oh yeah, in the 1920s this had to be WAY out there.
Municipal Dump?!
Yes, quite literally.
Curious to know what other cities have airports. Matagalpa perchance? Any expats flying in Nicaragua? Asking for a pilot friend.
There are no other airports. Especially not in the mountains. Places like Leon have crop duster airports, but not passenger airports. Managua is the only commercial airport in the country for anything other than a local hop (like there is an itty bitty thing in the Corn Islands, but only for flights from Managua.)
Death sidewalk!!!!
All fo them. I've almost fallen SO many times.
Have your parents been to NIC?
Sadly, no. My mother passed away long ago (20 years, this year) and never traveled outside of the US and Canada. My father explores only through my vlog. He's not able to travel any distance or would have moved down with us.
Funny, no botar basura aqui! Instead, go to the other side and burn it there
Right. No dumping trash on THIS side of the airport!!
