Many people like Patrick can sometimes get lost in the sea of car care products. What do I wash my car with? How can I keep it clean after I've washed it? It's the simple things that we want to help and educate you on.
So, introducing "Detailing 101". A step by step guide on the basics of car care, featuring Patrick and his BMW E36. During this series you'll see us educate Patrick on the most simple ways to Wash, Clean & Prep, Polish, Protection and Maintain his car.
Our aim is to share with you the simplest forms of car care, whether you're a non car guy, a car enthusiast, or someone that just wants to further their knowledge about detailing or the Meguiar's product range.
Okay so this isn't a glass cleaning video.... Patrick and Dale got too excited with the delivery of a new product for Meguiar's. SNOW FOAM!
Ultimate Snow Foam Xtreme Cling Wash is Meguiars' first snow foam specific wash. Unlike other snow foams this will NOT strip your wax protection. The intense foam clings & clings, gently loosening road grime on lightly soiled cars to allow for a touchless pressure rinse, yet also lubricates the surface on dirtier vehicles for when a wash mitt is required.
pH NEUTRAL Snow Foam. Engineered specifically for coated, waxed or sealed finishes, Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Foam cleans without stripping protection.
EXTREME CLING. The intense foam clings & clings, gently loosening road grime on lightly soiled cars before pressure rinsing.
LUBRICATES THE SURFACE. Lubricates the surface as a pre-wash on dirtier vehicles for when a wash mitt is required.
Easy to use: Simply mix 1 part snow foam with 5 parts water snow foam cannon bottle.

Found it stained plastic trim on my focus ,didnt let it dry and it wasnt sunny not happy is a understatement.

Will the use of a pressure washer not remove the wax from the paintwork?
What PSI do you use with that power washer when spraying off those bugs etc? Looks to be safe with the paint. I've just bought a Karcher and some Meguiar's snow cannon and foam gear, don't want to destroy the paint work! Thanks

A few questions/remarks. Seen many car detailers say apply snow foam from the bottom up... do you recommend this? Was the 2 bucket method not needed as you re-snowed the car? And at some point your man was wiping away in circular motions I've been told that's a massive no no . The product looks fab but as mentioned maybe a bit too expensive for us part time wanna be detailers lol.
You also must know about the price per ounce compared to other established effective snow foams.
Not keen on the second method. Snow foam is a non contact wash to soften dirt, road grime etc and then rinsed away. Using it as a wash lube? Wouldn't you be carrying a lot of dirt across the lower panels with the mitt?
We only recommend the washing method for lightly dirty cars. The car was hosed down previous to this to remove any hardened grime. This is even more than you would do if you were just washing it normally.
If you don't mind using more product for dirtier cars, rinsing the foam off then reapplying for a second time as "wash lube" works well if you're worried.

My karcher doesn't have the adjustable lance (i.e. soft hard mix)... but i believe i can still adjust the pressure on the machine itself... or should it still be ok on what i think is high pressure?
If I use Foam Lance with high pressure water pump, do I still need to mix product?
what pressure washer do you use?
can you use polish/compound after using this foam?
What ingredient makes it bond to the wax? I need to be sure the runoff is ok for the environment.

I wish I could get it in NZ. I use the Ceramic hybrid wax and it works so well.

@ the 8:14 mark, WTF, you used the hi pressure water to make sure you get those bugs off and any dirt off first, yet you did not otherwise the snow foarm, would not even be required at all, just a simple quick detailer after you have snow formed it and dried it, LOL :)

You have to mess with it to figure it out. It depends on the soap and I use a pump sprayer for my wheels with a foaming wheel cleaner
Is there a foam gun in the works? Everyone doesn't have a pressure washer. If so, when can we expect it to be released?
Question: what pressure washer did you use and how much psi is needed to safely and effectively wash a car?

U have to wash your car or this product is for in between the washes, example if I wash my car on Monday and then rain on wed , which leaves some dirt and water Mark's in my car , should I use just this product and rinsed, or I have to do wash after ,

It absolutely is however doesn't have the same cling or cleaning ability as the snow foam

What's the difference between using this and the NXT Shampoo via a lance? I've been using NXT as it helps soften hard water for both snow foam and wash process. Also it's much cheaper than this snow foam.
If that works for you then fantastic! The snow foam is a dedicated snow foam. So it will clean the car at the same time as not removing any of your wax protection.
This is the most expensive snow foam I ever buy . It’s the best so I am happy to pay the extra for a very small amount .

What is the lowest ratio you could use the snow foam with while still being effective ?
During our testing the lowest we would suggest is the 5 to 1 ratio.

Hi. Got a question for you guys. I've had the snow foam for a couple of days. Haven't used it yet. However, was just looking at the bottle today and noticed that the liquid is lumpy. Is this normal?

you need keep snow foam on room Temparature.
Everytime i use Snowfoam,it comes out like curdled milk and runs straight off.I use a Karcher K2 Compact and cannon,is the washer not powerful enough or is the cannon substandard?
If your using the Karcher foam cannon thats your problem, they are rubbish. Invest in a proper Snow foam lance and you'll find the foam will come out much thicker. If you don't want to spend a huge amount then Ebay have cheap Chinese made lances for about £15 which are decent enough.

What's actually the difference between the Ultimate and Gold snow foam?
The ultimate snow foam is a dedicated snow foam that efficiently pre washes the car but doesn't remove wax protection. The Gold Class car wash is actually a shampoo but can be used as a snow foam.
So practically is not “needed” to use a glove in case we want?

Plant Based Paul I think they're employee only , I work in a store near meguiars and their employees are always coming in in all sorts of exclusive meguiars clothing mirror bright and standard megs tops but I've never seen them for sale

Marybeth Eby they definitely give stickers out , try ask them if you see them at a car show , they were even nice enough to come and find me after I'd walked off when they said they couldn't find any but they did have some which was lucky!

is bilt hamber auto foam you can clearly see the results when used on a dirty car
Its around £2 per 100ml, very pricey! Autoglym Polar is around one third of this price.

What is the difference between gold class and snow foam?
Ultimate Snow Foam has better cleaning ability and has longer cling as it has been formulated specifically as a snow foam. The Gold class was formulated as a car wash which happens to work nicely as a snow foam. Both are completely wax safe.
E36 with soft paint? Must have been repainted? A rotary and Sonax Cutmax isnt enough to cut my e36 clear.

For every wash we asses how dirty the car is. In this case because we used the snow Foam as a Pre-wash on Patrick' BMW we didn't need the second bucket. However we always use a grit guard in the bucket. If in doubt we'd always recommend the two bucket method.

Snow foam from bottom to top and you said at start of this you would rinse the car and use the foam as a soap well all your gonna do is spread the bigger bits of grime which the foam loosens up over the car be professional at least
We jet washed the car down to make sure any of the more dirtier parts of the car were rinsed off. We would say that if the car is really dirty and grimy jet wash the snow foam off and wash as normal with the two bucket method. As Patrick's car was only lightly grimy we used the Wash and Wax shampoo with the snow foam.

Basically never ever use a soap car wash with wax in it, after all your going to wax or seal your cars paint surface anyway, so soft gel is the best car soap on the market today and you can use it in any brand of snow cannon, just be careful of the amount of soft gel meguiers wash, basically look at the meguiers recommendations, ie: approx 100ml for hi pressure machines which are upto 1,700 psi and anything above that say 2,750 psi use around 50 ml of the gel wash per 900ml of water mix, or if you like use as much as you want based on how dirty your cars is, first pressure wash / rinse the car to get the dirt and harder stuff which has stuck to the painted surfaces then use the snow cannon, but again its up to the customer to do what ever he likes or she likes and what products they want to use, its as simple as that ?
Meguiars states in the instructions to start at the bottom and work upwards, but you dont seem to be able to follow your own instructions.

Way to much money this product and has a stability issue with varying temperatures
Detailing 101 ....... your putting your dirty wash mit into the soap bucket without rinsing all the dirt off .... The idea is get rid of the dirt from the car so it doesnt scratch the paint, not to leave the dirt in the Mit or in the soap bucket where the Mit will pick up the dirt and then scratch the paint...... Cmon guys thats car washing mistake Number 1.

If you wet the car before you foam it, you are wasting your money on foam as the soap will cling to the water not to the dirt.
Also, you should foam from the bottom up, not top down, but I guess if you are wetting first it does not matter, as the soap will do SFA (Sweet Fuck All) thanks to the water.

So....instead of showing the product actually cleaning off dirt in the car, spend 50% if the video selling the product. All a money making gimmick.
