Thanks ❤
Ms. Lady, you are magically amazing!
omg I truly appreciate all the information you give!
Thank you so much and God Bless you!!!!
I don't care how long it takes as long as it grows healthy
Facts
Same sis! Not just healthy hair, but a healthy mind from where that hair comes out of.
😁, been growing out a Buzz cutt since oct2021 and I only have 6", I promise you it Takes a Dang Decade of patience LoL😉
@@legendssj23k It’s said average hair growth is 1/2 an inch a month/ 6 inches a year. Of course growth can be faster or slower for some people, but you’re right on track.
@@tiahnarodriguez3809 thank you finally at 7" I have some Bangs Now'😁
Y’all stop touching yo dang hair! It will grow! Hydrate & hide your hair, especially the ends! RETAIN! RETAIN! RETAIN!
Basically that’s it outside of nutrition. I wear a silk doorag with a scarf every day and oil my scalp. My hair is 3 inches from my hips
I don't hide my long natural hair & the ends are out. I see no point in having hair I cannot wear & enjoy.
@@waterca178 when you say you oil your scalp, do you mean with oil or grease?
What kind?
@@bumblebee4024 can you tell me the hairstyle you use?
I can't retainn must touch
Brittany you are really rare. You are so intelligent and driven. I understand where your strength comes from. Please keep up the great job. Thank you so much. 🌸
Thank you so much!
I think she’s so cute lol she’s like the little sister who’s always hooking me up with hair tips.
A lot of the techniques you mentioned (i.e. clarifying your hair and then conditioning it weekly or biweekly) are things most of our parents did to our hair when we were kids. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” Great video Britt, happy holidays❣️😘
I wouldn’t say “most parents”.
Thank you so much. I get discouraged with my hair growth, shedding, and dandruff. But, I'm going to do better with my hair going into 2023. No excuses. I will achieve healthy hair.
Same I pray you have a very good journey with your hair growth❤
Yes, ma'am...hair grows on the average about 1/2 inch a month. I don't think alot of people realize that. Some grows a bit more but 1/2 inch is the average. Healthy hair and scalp is the road to length. Thank you for your informative information. You're the bomb...young lady! Massaging your scalp daily stimulate the blood flow to your hair follicles. I'm 65 and was always taught to have clean hair and keep it moisturized especially black people hair. My hair is bra length at the present. I just want to keep it healthy.
You're awesome 🥰
How can you call someone ma'am, and say young lady after that? Is she young and old at the same time?
@@Michelle-pn9xt1.sometimes yes ma'am is a vernacular phrase, an expression.
2. She can be both because ma'am is appropriate for any adult age range especially if you don't know the woman personally
This the most honest, straightforward, best, information I’ve ever heard. I love this. So, this is why I subscribed !!!
Welcome aboard!
the reason why majority of black people have short hair is simply because we don’t know how to take care of our hair properly.
on tv we mostly see people with straight hair or loose curls but we don’t really see kinky hair so that’s maybe one of the reason why we lack so much knowledge about our hair. But I am here to explain our hair and how to grow your hair!
most humans grow hair at the same rate 1/2 inch per month the reason why other races have longer hair is because they have slicker hair which is less prone to dryness and breakage than kinkier hair which allows them to retain more length with less effort and their hair apears longer because it’s straight our hair shrinks which make it seem short.
our hair is naturally dry and lots of us use very thigh hairstyles which can cause hairloss.
so for our hair to grow is to moisture it and put it in protective style for length retention!
if you look at tribes in Africa : chad , Ethiopia , Somali and gambia etc they all use something that moisturises their hair and than put it in protective styling for weeks or even month and than they wash it.
The most important thing to know on how to grow you natural hair is your hair porosity because if you know your hair porosity than you’ll know what products will work the best for you you have 3 types of hairporosity : high, medium , low
if you have high porosity that means that you hair absorbs products very quickly and then let it go so your hair gets wet very fast but also dries out very fast
if you have medium that means that the cuticles aren't too close together, but aren't too open either. This allows moisture to penetrate easily, and it also makes it easier to retain moisture for a longer period of time so basically neutral.
If you have low that means that water doesn't readily absorb. Your hair may be low porosity if it takes a long time to wet and dry It doesn’t allow moisture to be absorbed into the hair shaft so product just sits on the head and it’s easier to get product build up.
Washday
Please have a regimen / routine is very important and don’t skip wash days and deep conditioning because dirty hair DOES NOT GROW.
If you have high porosity hair your hair is constantly begging for hydration so
You have to deep condition weekly , protein treatment monthly , highly recommend rice water but don’t over use it, pre pooing is very helpful, use thick creams and butters , lots of water for wash n gos , rinse hair in cold water when washing it wash weekly or bi weekly .
low porosity : lightweight products are the best , wash weekly to prevent build up , loc method , rinse hair with warm water when washing , say no to silicones
wash day tips for everyone :
I highly recommend to do a pre poo with conditioner or hot oils before and gently detangle your hair with your fingers first before combing through to prevent breakage than everytime you are done with each section put it in braids than wash it out and put shampoo only shampoo your roots you can massage it if you want but still keep the braids in then deep condition your hair you can take out the braids but still make sure that it’s in section and not all clumsy
rinse the deep conditioner out with cold water or warm depend on your porosity and dry it with a shirt instead of a towel since the texture of the towel can damage the hair cuticles , your hair must be soft now than I recommend to do either lco or loc method depends on what porosity you are ( leave in conditioner or liquid , cream ,and a sealant oil )
For high porosity I recommend castor oil , almond oil , jojoba oil and grapeseed oil as sealant and for low porosity jojoba oil , grapeseed oil, argan oil Or baoab oil. and then put any moisturizing oil on your scalp and edges massage it after and than you can braid it make sure the end are the most moisturised you can twirl them to if theres unneeded hair under your ends cut it.
For wash n gos:
Use a ton of water , apply gel from roots to ends , define clumps that naturally form and don’t touch until dry if it’s dry in day 2 refresh it with a refresher until it’s wash day than you can start over ❤️
When taking down protective style always use something with slip / oil/conditioner/aloe Vera this prevents breakage
Sleep with bonnet or silk pillow to protect for less damage
Don’t use heat to much.
Thanks for all the info ! What do you suggest for someone who prefers to wear braids? My stylist usually blow drys my hair before braiding it, is this OK since It’s only being blow dried in between braids? I normally wear my braids like 1-2 months depending on the style.
@@erinemm6 I would recommend african threading to stretch the hair.
Dont put the braids in for to long it can cause hair thinning and hair loss so does heavy braids, wash it every week and use hair growth oil on scalp. Instead of using extensions you can also do yarn braids which is with wool hair :
czcams.com/video/aFFzjByPZPM/video.html
@@strawberry-jq9fu thank you so much
@@strawberry-jq9fu I have done African Threading for a couple of months now with Acrylic Yarn. My mom believes she's seen a difference in length. I do too, but sometimes need confirmation from others. I feel that it protects most of the entire length of the strand, keeps everything in place.
My only concern is that when my hair is wet, the yarn kind of gets matted. So, I'm looking into rubber thread.
Also my hair grew CRAZY FAST when I did individual faux dreads (w/Marley twist underneath!) My hair was UNTOUCHED!
You simply retained length
@@Awillii Yes girl, that the key that changed my hair growth. So many people still need to know this.
@@TheFearlessBabe ok the faux loc helped you retain length. Not that it grew your hair. Hair grows regardless of styles but styles can help you retain growth because you are not manipulating your hair (less breakage).
@@Awillii but that's exactly what she said.
I did this once, and was literally thinking about doing it again soon!
Thank you young Queen. Auntie is so proud of your knowledge of hair care period. You were clear, thorough , and even funny at times 😅. Most of all thanks for putting that old myth to rest that black people hair doesn’t grow. Thank you Brittany for this video. Finally someone posted a video on all the steps to grow hair
This video came just in time. I've been trying to figure out where to start with my hair. I've been depressed for three years, and just let my hair go. Yesterday i found a bald spot. This video has given me a lot of useful tips on where to start.
Hope you're feeling better now.

Thank you so much for providing us with the PDF and all the encouragement and keeping it 100%. Merry Christmas
You’re the GOAT for dropping this word document. WOW SIS! Thank you. I’ve been tightening my hair routine over the years but this was the intentional video I needed to watch to help me crystallize what I NEED to be doing and how I WILL do it! New subbie 🎉
That was so, so kind to put that PDF in the description girl!!! Thank you so much! God bless you, you're wonderful and you deserve all the inches girlllllll xxx
Girl I loveee how you started off this video with so much honesty because it's so many people who cap on CZcams and give people false hope in products and methods. It really does take time and consistency and that's the bulk of it frfr. You def just got me as a new subscriber!
Imma support your business sis! I love to see a young black woman making it! Thanks for the tips!
I will definitely support your business, young lady. I'm so proud of you. You are providing basic tips that we received from our mothers and grandmothers in times past. Because we are trying to wear the latest styles, we neglect to do basic hair care. While I do not have a problem with wigs or weave, I believe that we should take care and wear our own hair as much as possible. I love natural hair. We have to take the time to care for it. Your hair is beautiful. We have beautiful hair, and it does grow with time and care. Thank you so much for the tips and reminders.
It’s the details and transparency for me! Subscribed!
My hair is prone to be long (always had long hair but not healthy) and I’m not consistent, my goal is long healthy hair! Thanks for your tips
I'm definitely taking notes and changing bad habits. My hair is already longer than its ever been in my life, but I want more.
I really really liked this video! You gave excellent advice, and you're perfectly honest. And funny 😁 lol. I have natural hair that is hip length. It was past my butt it was getting toooo long for me to handle, so earlier this year, I got 10 inches cut off to start fresh. I don't have a channel at all but I've been thinking about publishing some hair videos because I have a routine that could really help with the perfect silk press every time. You made me motivated to attempt to record it when I saw your last video straightening your hair, and you were disappointed with your results.. i was like "omg i can help!". I'm nervous, but you're inspiring me to at least try! ✨️ really good job girlie! 🤩 thanks for your honest and true advice. So many girls will benefit🫶🏾
Wow! So encouraging! You should really go for it sis!! 🥰
Please start your channel already 😊
Am interested in your routine, i just subscribed to your channel
What’s your regimen?
Truth be told ever since I stopped using the black hair care products and over complicating my hair practices my hair has been easy to manage and is down my back.
All I do is just wash deep condition use a leave in and then shea butter put my hair in a sade loose pony tail and braid and repeat weekly or every 2 weeks my hair is down my back. The only time I do anything special is if I’m going somewhere but day to day pony tail loose braid.
Love this video! Very detailed with great tips and info! Thanks for the PDF, Brittany! ❤
I literally cut my hair today and going natural. Let's go!!!
This is the video I need in my life! ❤
God bless you and thank you for this detail video and the document, I saw your recent short called "it gives very weird energy" and how you speak on the hate you get from black woman hating on your hair, which is sad especially with all the information you always provide on your channel but yes that short brought me here 😊❤
Greetings,
Thank you so much Young Princess. I will definitely use this on my daughter's hair. You are amazing. You are speaking true facts. I just started watching your videos since coming across your channel last month. Making me a play list.
i like the logic behind conditioning and detangling 1st and then shampoo. i'll try that on my next wash day!
Conditioning dirty hair does not make a lot of sense. You got conditioner on top of dirt and then strip the dirt plus the conditioner you just applied with shampoo.
I love how you honest I have used you tiktok to try and maintain my hair growth aswell as your products
Yay!!! You’ve spoiled us rotten my dear 😍😍😍 much oblige for the PDF!
My pleasure 😊
Wow this is so thoughtful and informational thank you so much ! Because I want to grow and learn my hair but I am struggling!! Thank you ❤
I truly value this information. Thank you so much 😌
It makes me so proud to see how smart you are. New Subby!
Thank you love! I’m in med school so the passion twists on a 6 week wash day schedule works excellent for me.
I know you’re super busy!! I’ll follow your channel cause I’ll be in your shoes soon i know someone that cut her hair due to studying.
I’m still watching but I truly appreciate this video! Thank you for being so honest about how everything works. I have tried EVERYTHING with growing my hair. Other than locs nothing worked but this is some real advice. Also unrelated: you look and sound like Kyla Pratt!!
The OGs back in the day invited us through the journey from short hair to long with them and it did take time....maybe about 1-5 or 6 years. Miss folks like Kimmy Tube and others, who showed us that black women can grow long hair. Thank you for being one of those getting back to these basics.
Thank you so much! I've been natural for almost 3 years. When I took out protective style which was last year, it was to the back of my neck but I am looking for more effective tips to grow it longer and how to take better care of my hair and I believe this tips will really help and I will incorporate it into my hair routine and I just learned how to plat / twist my own hair so I'm proud of myself for that because I've never been good at knowing how to do protective styles on my own head
One thing for me I learn is that I have low porosity hair and learning that, that really really helped me a lot. I know a deep condition I have to use heat or the product will sit on top of my hair. Don’t overdue protein treatments
I think all need to give Brittany a thumbs up. She gave out a lot of infornation many of tge other will not give. She needs the numbers.
Great video and it was very knowledgeable Brittany, and you have a great personality, a strong-willed person is who you are. I wish you all the best during this 2023 year and many more. May God bless you and keep you safe🙏🙏☺.
Why was I looking for exactly this. THANK YOU!
That is just the best and most useful hair tip video ive watched so far thank you so much 😌😌
Thank you for this video. Most definitely took notes and I hope it will help me on my journey. I definitely know that my hair could be healthier and probably longer if I was more consistent. I am the same when it comes to doing my natural hair. I don’t like doing it at all. It’s a lot of work. I would sometimes think about cutting it all off or perming it (that’s when I get really depressed about it tho). Thanks again.❤️
Thank you so much for clarifying that, I needed to hear that from you I appreciate your videos for this newly natural person ,I'm a late bloomer @ 50+ 🙏🏾💙🎁

This was a really great explanation video, good work!! And thanks!💕
Job well done Britt! U broke it down girl! These videos have women thinking that hair grows in one week r so and bam, u got long healthy hair......NOT!!!!! I saved this video!!!😇🙏
That’s a lot of steps to grow your hair. I think this is the reason why people are giving up on their natural hair because people are making it sound so difficult
I definitely get it, but keep in mind most people learn how to grow their hair as they grow up. A lot of black women didn’t so we’re getting all this information at once instead of throughout our childhood. It takes time to create a routine but once you have it, I promise it’s easy.
I get that, everything your saying to do I do these steps but when I tell somebody else how to grow theirs they be like no you don’t have the same hair as mine or I’m using too much products and I need a trim.
I don’t know why I felt you on this. This has been so overwhelming for me. Cuz all the “experts” are saying something different but then say they have the accolade and expertise. How is everyone a expert but saying different things.
But, I will say, initially, it takes a lot of steps because if you are LEARNING for the first time, it will take time. Just think, people go to college for four years to get a degree in a special area of study. It takes time. It also takes time to build a business. But once you get past the learning, and now into something being apart of you, like second nature, it won’t feel so daunting. My natural hair has been a mystery all my life, and trying to get it growing was so tiresome that I had many setbacks. I’d relax it, cut it, damage it…and it’s only by Gods grace I still have hair coming out of my scalp. But now that I’ve found my flow and rhythm (meaning is sift through the information online and experimented) it’s a piece of cake and I look forward to it. It’s very mental more than physical. And if you mentally take yourself out the game, you won’t see the results. Blessings to you dear!
@@CoilyCode yeah when I started my hair journey, woman that were doing my hair, either put a perm in my hair or braided my hair wrong so I started to figure out how to grow my own hair and the woman I was following on here were telling people to do the wrong steps and I’m like that’s not how you grow your hair, and in every 4c hair video woman had to cut their hair off because it was shedding too much or breaking to where they just cut it off. That s why I stated this post because other woman don’t know a lot of these steps and when they find the right videos, a lot of them don’t know which steps is right or wrong so they just give up
Sweetheart don't stress yourself over experts and non-expert advice, MASTER length retention tips PERIOD. you will definitely testify about the huge difference in your hair.

Very good information right here! How often would you recommend using your brown sugar/coffee exfoliating shampoo vs the tea tree/peppermint shampoo? I was thinking to use the exfoliating shampoo after I take down box braids or twists for example b/c I know that I'll have more build up than usual at that time and just for a "regular" wash day to use the other one.
Great video, sis!
Thanks for this video
I'm like you too on this regimen thing, wanted to change it but I'll just keep up with it.

These are great reminders. Thank you for them. I'm only unsure about the heat usage /damage advice. Her hair looks damaged to me now, but it could just be her natural texture. I'm not sure I'd take a risk and follow the advice to use heat so often as her, nor would I suggest using high heat to 400 plus degrees.
Sis, I need help with a skincare routine please 🙏.
This video was the guide my momma never gave me 😢 God bless you! Thank you.
Hi Ms. Brittany, great job & I'm a new subscriber! Ladies, get a heating cap for the deep conditioner or pre-poo. It works great to help the product penetrate the hair shaft.

Great video . My hair usually grows an inch a month .. I can always cut my hair and in less than a year it'll be back where I cut it . I cut my relaxed hair off April 2022 .. here it is January 2023 and it's back shoulder length . My goal is tailbone length .I keep my routine simple ... Wash weekly, deep condition, leave in , oil or butter ... And I two strand twist or box braids
This was very informative. I am going to do my best to be consistent. Thank you so very ,uch
My hair started growing when I stopped using all the fads and took my time to care for my hair. Avocado and olive oil really help me to moisturize. Also, purelene hair oil ( the original) works for me. I use it to oil my scalp.
These are great tips. I use two conditioners one butter and one oil. I was my hair ever 6 weeks as well.
Thank you for this very helpful information. 💗
