Pulisic was good, those who hate can go to hell.
On the Christian Pulisic issue, he plays a quick turn and burn style, with combination play. You saw it when he drew the yellow card, and several times when he took off on runs, but Barkley and Pedro just couldn't get the ball to him quick enough. I genuinely believe they don't know how to play with his speed and quickness, so he is slowing down his game and its hurting him. He needs to play his style and let his teammates adjust to it.
The good thing is that Lampard and Morris will find a way for him. And players like Mount, Kante and Reece will soon know how to get him. Cause we really need Pulisic at the wing very soon.

The problem for him right now is our "academy kids". We just have too many young talents to deal with and Frank prefers English kid over the others. And Tbh i don't see any chemistry between him and the others. Willain and pedro loves to run with the ball and shot, same with tammy and Barkley.
@@hbrabim I mean these guys have been playing together since they were 7, and under Frank before in some cases. Willian and Pedro are old, super experienced players who know how to play with anyone. It's just annoying to hear that Pulisic isn't coming along like the other youngsters, then no context given as to why that is or might be.

Yes, but a part of me is wants Chelsea to use Pulisic wrong as a Liverpool fan, so we can once again take Chelsea's trash and turn him into the world class player he should be like we did with Mohamed Salah. Pulisic going to Chelsea felt like when Clint Dempsey went to Spurs, but back then Liverpool were not as good as they are now, so it does not matter. If it was not for Klopp Liverpool fans would be livid about the transfer business, but now we just trust in Klopp and don't worry about what player comes in much. I feel like Chelsea will eventually get to that point with Frank Lampard.

Pulisic is not a Lampard player at Chelsea and he does not fully trust or fancy him yet, so there are players more likely to start ahead of him. He was bought by Chelsea for marketing reasons and was guaranteed playing time by Maurizio Sarri otherwise he world have gone to another club. He was on the verge of joining Liverpool and reuniting with Jurgen Klopp, but he could not guarantee him consistent playing time. No way he wanted to warm the bench and lose his starting spot like he did at Dortmund due to Jadon Sancho's performances. Anyway I am surprised Manchester United did not buy Pulisic because he is a Manchester United fan growing up.
Pulisic has registered three assists from the limited opportunities. Still he is criticized for taking some time to settle and Willian gets picked ahead of him.
Willian is yet to even register a half of a single assist, and does not even know combinations but still don't know why he should be playing ahead Pulisic.
I agree about Pulisic. His teamates just were not finding him. They kept looking left first for Callum. He had many runs where he was wide open on the Right, but Gilmore seemed to only make passes to the left. Pulisc was involved in two of the goals, assisting one of them and I would like to see how many touches he had, he played solid for the amount of times he got the ball. Also I think Pulisic plays better on the left where he can cut in on his right foot, but we know he most likely won't take that position from Callum. Overall I just think he needs more playing time.
Pulisic last night was making good runs, but it felt like when he was out on the wing in the second half, people almost refused to pass the ball to him, and I don’t know why. It’s like they don’t trust him with the ball. If anything, the 6th point should have been that the players (except for Pulisic) were really selfish with the ball to the point where Pulisic was forced to take the ball off of Michy’s foot so he could have a shot. It was really frustrating to watch

I agree with most of your points , but i do feel as billy gilmour did not look quite as impressive as everyone set him out to be. Don't get me wrong hes a great player but for me the strength just isnt there yet , looked to be shoved off the ball easily. One for the future forsure though. Also Pulisic was not getting the ball at all it was really weird to see so many of his runs ignored. Must be frustrating as with the USMNT he gets the ball on nearly everyplay as he is in charge of the buildup
Agreed. I saw that too.. Billy is talented but the fanbase is going way too ahead of themselves imo. The passes were overcooked at times. And needs a bit more mass in him so he won't be shoved off but definitely a prospect for future.
Also saw that Pulisic was ignored many times by teammates. I feel bad for him. He'll be pushed down the order this way hopefully Lampard sees his training and Pulisic manages to hold on until then
On the USMNT Pulisic and Weston mckennie are best friends and have great chemistry together and they play good together. I wish he could get that sort of relationship with someone on Chelsea. Pulisic is very shy and reserved and Weston mckennie is bold and audacious. Playing with mckennie breaks pulisic out of his shell a bit

I feel like Pulisic looked frustrated with himself throughout the match yesterday. He seemed to disappear during the second half. I think labeling him the new kid on the block is putting it perfectly. He's comparable to all the other young boys and good enough, but he has yet to sync with them.
Loving Zouma getting props. Been solid since after the united game but everyone held that game against him for ages. Think he's really good for tomori and guehi when playing as the more experienced defender

Its cos the fanbase is packed with fifa merchants who think pace and stamina makes a defender elite. Zouma is our best pure defender but has been blamed even though he hasn't really been at fault for anything... I think a back 4 of Emerson, Zouma, Rudiger/Tomori, Reece James can get the job done...
I respect you and your opinions tremendously George you’re always very realistic and honest but I do have to disagree with your judgement on Pulisic being a yellow, it was a matter of the other players being selfish and not passing to him. He was in good positions often and they (Michy, Barkley) could’ve passed to him but they chose not to, it’s not that they “couldn’t find him”. Alonso was fairly decent though and has been in matches so far. Especially as a LWB he was back to his usual best as we've seen him in title winning season
Christian is under the perfect manager, he'll come out good in the end. I hope Barkley also starts performing, I'd love to see the whole squad fully fit and on-form
Guehi was class he can be trusted to be utilised in the first team around the defence, big game for him to start as his first chelsea start and he played well

Jadon Sancho was the preferred winger at Dortmund for a reason. I can see that happening in Chelsea as well. It's not hard to imagine him being just another substitute that barely gets used.
Once again, I feel as though people give pulisic too much flack. He's still 20 years old, its his first season in the premier league and he had an assist on one of batshuayi's goal last night. So once again it seems as though people are already doubting him which is a shame because we've seen what he can do against top clubs like Liverpool in the UEFA super cup. Give him a chance in the prem on the left side and he will deliver.

The pulisic criticism is fair as a lot of fans (mostly american) are questioning why he isnt starting. He definitely needs to adapt to how the team are playing and helping the fullback etc. but with time he will be a massive player alongside CHO.

Bats looked good, for sure! And Zouma has become this driving force, who starts driving the ball up the pitch and no stopping him, cos he's strong like an Ox! And Zoom's passing range is surprisingly impressive! Tomori does those forward drives too, so, it's good to see!
Watching da highlights (especially in the 1ft half) Ross, Mitchy, and Pedro were playing Hero ball, there were minimal passes to Pulisic or to CHO...I'll just say Lampard left Pulisic in for the full 90min and he got an Assist which is a Positive, but if it were another player that would be a solid performance but because Pulisic is the face of USMNT he gets criticize.

Giving Michy a green and putting Pulisic in yellow? I'm gonna disagree with you here, George. From memory, I can recall 3 instances where Michy should have passed or should have let Pulisic take a shot, but Bats decided to go full-on-selfish and mess up a great chance. He constantly made runs in behind but was heavily ignored. I see now why Bats won't get ahead of Abraham, just because he is playing for himself rather than the team.

What's wrong with Pulisic is that he hasn't played in three weeks. That would affect anyone's confidence and composure. He didn't come on in the 76th minute when we were up 3-nil against Wolves. Why? You bench your $70m man for four games and then wonder why he didn't get MoM?

All of of other players inlcuding youngsters have played in English leagues before. This is Pullisic's first season in England he will improve with time but for that he needs to work alot.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I would be curious to see how Pulisic would play as a number 10 CAM role. He creates a lot of chances for other players when he pops up in the middle. I think all of his assists have come from a central position. Playing further up the field would also allow Pulisic to focus on attack and not defense, thus playing him to his strengths. Think about it, how many games has Pulisic been played in his preferred position, LW or CAM, once maybe twice? Also we may have killed Grimsby ,but our passing in the final third was poor. We could have had more goals if we passed quicker in the middle. Chelsea have a lot of players that are not on the same page. Making some of our passing very clunky. You could as see this in our positioning in this game. There were times where multiple Chelsea players occupied the same space in the middle, while the wings remained open. I think this was due to our wingers not getting the ball enough so they started to pinch in, in hopes of getting more of the ball. Last note on Pulisic, is that he can from a team with a lot of chemistry. Pulisic is best at making runs and combining with other players. This lack of chemistry makes playing to his strengths difficult .

Pulisic has a loooooong way to go. But, it's a long season, so we'll see. I have strong doubts until he gets stronger and gets some assists/goals. Christian is the most out-of-place player in the entire squad.

I honestly think there's so much pressure on Pulisic. He has the pressure of an entire media rich nation.
A big money transfer and he's still going under the radar and everyone only keep talking about Chelsea's youth more.
Not to mention, he's in a new club and new atmosphere desperate to perform and he's now in a very big club with immense talent around him which might all be overwhelming.
I think people around will have an important role to play in him settling down and not getting the pressure get to him and maybe a hand around the shoulder from Lamps will help too. But one thing looks for sure, he's gonna need time settling in. Maybe we won't even see the best of him till next year.

Why can't any of the Chelsea midfielders see Pulisic's runs? With the limited chances he gets on the ball, he always seems to be involved w/ key goals in every game he's started. He looks frustrated out there and his teammates won't pass him the ball.
I get that seeing Billy Gilmore is a great talent and that is why we sought to bring him to Chelsea and Kudos for him at that age to have the strength of purpose at that age to come, but please George, allow that Ross played a part in glueing together last nights performance,

I imagine that the pressure would far greater on Pulisic here at Chelsea. Teams like Dortmund and Bayern and others in the Bundesliga are a lot like families. PL teams are more vicious. The team didn’t open up their arms and welcome Pulisic in as Dortmund did. This is about who is the best player day in and day out and their are always politics to be played. At Chelsea those things are huge and Chelsea currently have a bunch of youth that came up through their own youth program that have huge expectations placed on them. Pulisic will have to be so good that you wouldn’t consider not playing him otherwise he will remain a rotation guy amongst the other great home grown talents on this team.

Dude, Pulisic made many good runs. He can easily rip that right wing IF Pedro, Barkley, Michy have eyes. They often ignore his open run, which is sad. I still have hope on him and he will get things settled at English football.

Everything about the game was great and the way we won was beautiful to watch with so many young players shinning our first team looks great these lot with the right coaching and reinforcements can be a force in Europe because all our academy players know is win win win👍 only negative yet again conceding from a dead ball situation 3rd game in a row coachable but other teams will see that as a way to penetrate us unfortunately now👎

Pulisic rarely get the ball pass to him..Barkley did Barkley thing with the ball even when theres teammate around him asking for the ball (though it did gave Chelsea the first goal haha)...thats why Pulisic seems "underwhelming" to some people that night, in my opinion ofcourse..although I didnt think he was underwhelming, he did great tbh...and Billy Gilmour, hes composure and vision really impressed me plus hes first time touch pass..remind me a bit like all those great midfielder like Pirlo and Fabregas, although very few of his long passes didnt reach his teammate but with his age, who knows what hes limit are if he keeps on improving...he did named as PL2 Player of The Month for August this season..
