ok so i know i’m late but i just had to respond to the question as a hedgehog owner. hedgehogs personality changes biased on animal of course but for the most part they are very shy. their teeth are also not very sharp and hardly ever bite so all that would really happen with a huge hedgehog is it would see you and then just puff up and start hissing. that’s it

I guess the question was more about the principle: Would you rather have one big seemingly harmless thing (that most people think is harmless, although you prove otherwise) as opposed to a large number of small but more dangerous creatures (because at first glance a horse is more dangerous than a duck). When you put it that way, I always pick the large harmless one.

I wanna start off by saying this is a well thought out and displayed theory on "video game violence" but I have noticed a slight factor that you didn't include, which is Tactical Thinkers playing different types of games would equal to different types of playstyles. For example, when I play a game like dark souls which has many components in its PvP to adapt your playstyle based on the opponent you are fighting. I tend to play aggressive at the start to catch my opponent off guard to get a quick advantage, but depending on how that gets countered, I will adjust my playstyle as necessary. If they countered my assault perfectly, then I would switch to a more defensive playstyle, but if they defended my attack badly, then I would keep being aggressive. The base point I'm trying to make is that, there is a group of gamers(let's call them the "tactical thinkers") out there that adjust their playstyle based on the scenario, and that's how they deal with problems in the real world. I hope you can see this comment, I know it is a bit late, but I do wish this is a statement that get your theory gears a grinding.😁

100 tiny tigers. They would freeze instantly due to the square-cube law, whereas the hedgehog would probably overheat, which would get messy. Meaning they'd both die, but the tigers would be easier to clean up.

I'd choose the hedgehog, just because it's only one target. A bunch of tiny tigers (or equivalent) means a bunch of stealthy clawed/fanged beasts nibbling away at you. While I'm not personally a fan of being skewered alive, I feel like it would be easier to avoid that

Seriously though, fight 100 duck sized horses, horses are easily spooked and tend to run away first. Ducks on the other hand are freaking psychotic and have sharp teeth and will chase you relentlessly at their normal size.
Similar logic, fight 100 hedgehog sized tigers, they are basically a bunch of wild kittens, tigers are not pack animals and dont have the instinct to work together to take down something so much bigger than them. while a quill of a hedgehog that large would be like getting skewered by a spear... and that hedgehog as a hundred spears hitting you at the same time... I will take being nibbled on by kittens any day
