Yr classes are touching I want to be yr student, but I am 70 yrs, I know some knowledge in flute (carnatic) if u can help me pl let me know
My new found love for classical music is all bcuz of vox n Ms.sarathy 🙏👍
Nice lesson,Thanks madam. The best way of identifying the Raags is listening of Classical music either Carnatic or Hindustani. I used to listenCarnatic &Hindustani music for 10 years Continuously through Radio. I can identify any Raag for Both music. I am not learned any type of music then.So listening of music is best way my point of view.
Nice demo of differentiating gamakas. The title of the video readily attracted me. As soon as it started, it was clear that it is for people who can identify swaras, i.e., those who have formal training in music. However, there are people who, despite not being able to identify a single swaram (note), can identify over 50 raagas, sometimes within seconds through aalapana, kriti or swarakalpana be it vocal or instrumental. This is what they said about the subject:
“The prerequisites are passionate and attentive listening along with decent memory built over a period of time. Here is the formula for identifying a raagam:
If a song ‘A’ is sounds like a song ‘B’ and if the song ‘B’ is in raagam ‘C’, then ‘A’ is likely to be raagam ‘C’. (Mathematically speaking, if A = B and if B = C, then A = C; which is known as transitive property of equality).
It requires skill to relate song A with song B, memory to recall song B with its raagam C and passion to link song A to raagam C. (The item ‘A’ need not have to be a song (kriti) but can be an item such aalaapana or swara kalpana.) This method has good success rate, though there can be exceptions.”
Enthusiasts can watch an excellent video by veena vidushi Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresan about identifying raagas: czcams.com/video/g4llzlnr-AI/video.html
There is no solid outcome in this video. The purpose is to only market your app, sadly. Sorry unsubscribing you’re channel
Thank you for presenting an excellent overview of understanding 'raagas'!
also helpful are three or four essential phrases of a raga which needs to be memorised and listened to regularly until they become easy to identify.
Thank you so much for this awesome video. It was very helpful.
Perfect ..very good ..God bless you....
Excellent teaching of critical things in an easy way 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Good info! Thank you!
Nicely explained Ma'am, thank you

Thank you, amazing world of Indian music 🧡
Very useful information 🙏
thank you, mam. Your videos are very helpful🙏🙏
Love the logical explanation !
Thank you for such informational and beautiful videos❤️
Thnx mam 😊....
Very helpful 👍
So beautifully put!! I mainly identify raagas based on intuition!! So for example, if I feel like a song has the raaga of naatai, I would always go back and sing a line of mahaganapatim manasasmarami to confirm🥰🥰😍😍
Yes I too do the same. The only problem is some ragas are called modes or in other words can be played with same notes interval but a different starting note. This is called graha bhedam. So many times I get confused whether a song starts with sa or pa. Based on that, raga can change. e.g. charukeshi/gourimanohari or karaharapriya/harikamboji
@@prasannasridharan3730 Yes yes!! I get you!! And that's where a deeper understanding of sangeetam comes in... a basic understanding of arohanams and avarohanams can help with this😍😍
I guess most of us we do the same
Tq Madam,Learning alot from your videos.
Unique way of explanation 🎉 thank you...
Very nice easy to to understand
amazing lesson thanks mam 🙏❤❤
Interesting.. thank you
Very useful video, namaste 🎉
Hello ma'am. Very nice presentation. The way you did for ga and demonstrated, could you show for other swaras as well?
Nice explaination
Thankyou madam good information
Excellant tutorials
மிக்க நன்றி அக்கா 🙏🙏🤗🤗👌👌
Respected Madam Sahiba Thanks a lot 🙏
Thank you sooo ma'am 🤗😊
Hello Mam, Thank you for this and all videos. But I have a request for you. Please make more such videos. So even if one cannot sing but can understand classical music. Like in maths even if one is not able to solve a problem but if someone solves he is able to understand the algorithms of the solution. I believe Music is as simple and complicated as Maths.
Just, wow, ma'am
Great inputs. It would have been better if some example was taken and explored . I.e exactly how that personality of the Raga is explored so as to identify it properly.
Mam , I liked your teaching and enrolled me into one of your courses yesterday ,, but problem is your mobile app , its not opening the workbook seasons
sojugada sooju mallige song is in which raga
Thanks Mam...... ❤
The Ga originating from Ri is called Ga 3

Raga Revathi is really the first raga I’ve learned, and I am filled with excitement when I can identify it in songs I have never heard before. Thank you for your videos, they have given me a clue about basics. And now I will have my own guru, and I am falling in love with Carnatic music

Mem I'm a big fan of you Im becoming better day by day
Super madam 🙏🙏
Nice tips. Normally I could identify certain ragas like Sindhubhairavi, Mohanam, Revathy etc by comparing them with the standard set of krithis or songs. But sometimes, they become wrong especially with similar ragas.
Mam is voxguru app courses are free or settlement

Nice presentation....but What about beginners?

❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think each raag his it's own color. As like i feel Raag kafi is Deep green with little yellow and red. Raag khamaj light green. Raag Raag yaman Mix of yellow and orange. Rag Bilawal off white.😁
What is the colour of raag bhairavi and raag todi
@@indiamalwa haha. It is just only my imagination. I feel Bhairabi is Dark Blue which is the color of early morning sky. But I can't say about tori because I have to listen it more.
@@mnopqrst7284what about raag asavari
Yesss!! And I think of each raaga as a scene in my head.. so brindavana saaranga looks like a fresh mid spring day with a bed of flowers and a young girl dancing..
Darbaar looks like a king's darbaar.. and I imagine many vidwans singing to rajas.. and also a bit of romance ..
Bhairavi on the other hand reminds me of a dark cloudy day.. and someone praying deeply in their house ..
Reetigowlai reminds me of 2 young vibrant people freshly in love 🥰🥰
@@indiamalwa sorry i can't imagine it properly but very colser Raag jainpuri feel like mix of orange and brown color with little yellow. The reason of these color is like, these color represent brightness of sun light. But first i feel the color of raag and then tried to find out the reason
Kannanekanna..which raga
Super
I have a question...can a person learn both belcanto and Carnatic singing
How to increase vocal range teacher??
👍👍👍👍

Prithibha sarthi. You great teacher. 👍.
Talk with example in cinema song
I'm curious about time signatures in Indian music....in Western music, there is a clear pattern of how many beats per bar there can be. It's second nature for me to pick out a time signature when listening to music...Unless it's Indian. Does this concept exist in Indian music? It must, humans love their patterns, I'm curious to learn more about it.
Taala is the rhythmic system ; but it is quite different from western time signatures. It is a cycle of syllables inside a fixed number of beats for exemple 8, 12, 16. By listening to a lot of tabla (like ishala app or other similar looping apps) you can learn to tap with it and try to understand it. It took me a few months but it naturally comes with familiarisation. it is way more complex in my opinion

In 'Kalaivaaniye' song.. Avarohanam left the chat 😑
How to identify you didn't tell
Hi Anil jaiswal this side

Hi mam
My mam
Name: Sangeeta Lahari
I am Sangeeta Lahari student mam my name is Tanusri mam
I am studying 4th standard "D"sec mam Sangeeta Lahari your friend mam Bay mam 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
That was not a clear explanation. Honestly it comes down to experience to understand the ragas.
Please give your videos in Tamil mam please
almost all is right.. except the use of the word "Right?" so often,..right?!
Sory ..very Unclear techniqe u discussed...the techniqe is only listining power..
amazing! unfortunately your expressions are different to western..
It's very disappointing. The pronounciations of various words take them away from originality.
Like सम्स्कृत is pronounced as सन्स्कृत (in North India) or सौङ्स्कृत (in Maharashtra and down South) or Sanskrit (san pronounced like can, ban, ran - by English medium people).
These are termed as अपभ्रम्श.
Like योग has become योगा and राग has become रागा. Very sad.
3:48 "What would he or she" -> "What would they"
3:51 "Would it be a man or a woman?" -> "Would they be a man, a woman or a non-binary person?"
More of talking and Less of learning..
