hmm, thats tricky. Looks like Hardinge got bought in 2018 by a holdings company. Idk if they still support older equipment. YCM is still around and they were able to help me. It couldn't hurt to call Hardinge and ask them. Machine tool builders will typically ask for the serial number. If you're lucky, they'll have the parameters on a couple of notepad files they can send you for free. Also, try researching "Fanuc P Cancel procedure". I actually lost the parameters on this very lathe recently and had to do a restore. (The batteries died). I made a video on P Cancel procedure on this channel, It should work on any Fanuc control. But yeah, first try and find the original Hardinge parameters. The parameters are different for every machine tool builder. Best of luck, let me know how it goes. I'd be curious to learn if Hardinge still supports older equipment
Hello sir, is that your own lathe, if so ........ give it a bit of TLC. The Fanuc membrane sheets or not that expensive, the Input-keyboard sheet is around $100 - S150. They come in white and colored (white-red-blue-green), the white you have is A98L-0001-0568#TR, the colored one is A98L-0001-0568#T, they are the same. The 7-key below the screen is relatively cheap, it's A98L-0001-0519 or A98L-0001-0252 (-0298) but the correct number is on the back of the "sticker" sheet. You can give your machine a nice upgrade with some new keypads and switches, and maybe some paint. 😉 And most important, it prevent dirt and malfunction going inside you button/keys.
Hey there! A year later... sorry for the late reply. yeah i ended up pulling all the way covers, cleaning everything, inspecting the ball screws and nuts/yolks. I will definitely look into replacing the soft keys sheet one day. Funny story... there was a spare membrane hidden in the electrical cabinet but it disintigrated immediately upon installation. Likely an original spare part. This video was from really early on. I also replaced the window. SikaFlex-1A is the best machine caulk around. nasty stuff
love the quick notes with sharpie. When ever there was machine specific info that I would need, I'd just sharpie it on the controller.
