Oh dude I completely in 100% agree with you I was actually very disappointed when I got my album to find out it was just another f****** pop album. Not to mention I feel like she kind of let her fans on to believe that it was going to be a rock album because one almost every single picture in the album is like very 70s rock type of style not to mention the names of the songs and the name of the album. I love Taylor Swift to death don't get me wrong but I'm very f****** disappointed at the fact that this album was nothing that I thought it was going to be. It's not bad and there's definitely songs on the album that I love but like rock suits her so well and I really f****** hope at some point this is going to sound mean but she pulls her head out of her ass and actually does something really good I'm not saying that she has in the last few years but like she gave us folklore which was really good then she gave us evermore which in my own opinion I just was not a fan of cuz it just felt like a dragged out version of folklore but not nearly as good,then she goes back to pop and gives us another album that sounds literally exactly like f****** reputation again just my opinion. Like the song vigilante s*** I love it but I feel like it's a song that tries too hard to sound like it should have been on reputation it literally just sounds like she tried way too hard with that song

So interesting, this version hits me so deep and reminds me of the rock style on her "Speak Now world tour". I have a special love for "Speak Now" album which is like many living sentiment truths inside of my seclusionist soul that I have never let it out. The produce of this version reminisces me about the guitar sounds from Mine, The story of Us, Long Live and Spark Fly that were performed on Speak Now tour. People may think that she have never experienced in any sort of Rock before but if they saw the begining of "Speak Now world tour", it would change their mind. She was just like a Rock star in some part of the concert. Especially, the live performance of Mine, Spark Fly and The Story Of Us at the beginning and then you can find Soft Rock/Country Rock/Pop Rock deeper and harder on "Haunted" and "Better Than Revenge". I always on fire with the solo of electric guitar at the end of "Better Than Revenge" on tour, it hits me so f*ckin' hard.

I'm not a fan of the original version of this song. Probably one of my least fave songs from Midnights. But when I heard this edit with the Rock version, I fell in love with it! And I appreciated the lyrics more. Just goes to show that the instrumentations and production can really make a big difference. It can really do wonders and can make or break a song.
