- In today's versus/analyses/comparison super mario video we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of super mario odyssey for the nintendo switch and all it's bosses, well on the rabbit broodals really and the koopalings from the other super mario games. This new game takes cappy and mario to all the kingdoms of the world like seaside kingdom, metro kingdom/new donk city, sand kingdom, bowsers kingdom, the moon, wooded kingdom, mushroom kingdom and many more. Here he fights bowsers minions and other evil creatures like the Broodals, Knucklotec, Torkdrift, Madame Broode and Chain Chompikins, Mechawiggler, Cookatiel, the Ruined Dragon and even bowser himself! All these bosses are new and this also goes for the levels/worlds, challenges, enemies, story, powers, abilities and many more. However we also have the classic koopalings that have always helped out bowser and bowser jr. They have been seen in games like new super mario bros, super mario world, mario kart 8, mario&luigi paper jam, Super Smash Bros, Paper Mario Color Splash and a lot more. however are they better then the new broodals seen in super mario odyssey. Well let's find out!

Omega I can’t agree more, the broodals have cool a personality but to me, they wouldn’t make sense in another Mario game since they are wedding planners, not actual minions for Bowser. What I think would be cool is if for every new 3D Mario game, a new koopaling like boss would be present. I feel as if Nintendo didn’t put much effort with a backstory for the broodals which is why I’m not a huge fan of them

People are treating the broodals as if they're going to be appearing in every Mario game now, but I personally don't feel that way. It's like saying that a certain boss working with Bowser such as King Kaliente is going to appear in every Mario game. That will just make the Broodals as overused as the Koopalings. That's just how I feel anyways, don't have a problem with this video (which was great by the way)
besides, the Broodals are nothing more than wedding planners. They aren't going to become Bowser's minions and fight Mario without a reason.
And I don't think future games would reuse the wedding story.
I agree with you. But there's still hope that they'll appear in at least a few more games, as side characters, maybe, and possibly in Mario Kart. The broodals are so charming and such lovable characters who care for each other, unlike the Koopalings.

The Broodals have an unfair advantage for battles, as they are fought in 3D spaces. The Koopalings (at least in mainline games) are only fought in 2D spaces.

and also, Topper is more like Larry in my opinion, he even looks more like Larry than Ludwig, also, I disagree about the boss fight challenge being the most important detail, because I think personality and character is the most important detail, thus, the Koopalings would win this comparison because it's hard to tell the broodals personalities
My 2 main reasons why the koopalings are way to better then the Broodals:

2: The Koopalings had much experience fighting Mario

Well, the Broodals came from the dark side of the moon and they are also royalty. In the map at that part of the game, They have names, personalities and different things. So Nintendo actally worked really hard on the broodals.

I honestly think that the Koopalings are gonna take the cake. Here's why:
Although the design is simple, while the Broodals are complex, I believe that the boss fights are gonna go to the Koopalings, since we've seen the Broodals only once. We've seen the Koopalings since 88, so it seems kinda unfair that the Broodals fight only twice, while each koopaling does in NSMBW. They all have interesting mechanics. (Not you Larry, and Iggy, I'm talking directly to Morton and Ludwig) In NSMBU, they all get their personal Airship, except we never fight them in Towers, we just see Boom Boom. Some boss fights were disappointing (Lemmy) And some were great (Iggy). And that we've only seen the Broodals once, the history is going to Koopalings.
So that's why I think the Koopalings are the best.

Even though I like the Broodals, I think That the whole concept of Them, like flying around, collecting stuff for Bowsers Wedding and acting as Mini-Bosses would have worked with the Koopalings aswell. The broodles just work because of the whole wedding thing, thats kinda their whole theme and maybe job, so using them in any other game would just be very wierd, but the koopalings dont have that problem

That 2D vs 3D difference makes the boss fight section an unfair fight. There's far less that can be done in a 2D platformer boss fight. The 2D Mario games never give him unique abilities like Cappy or FLUDD or even the Luma spin attack, restricting potential boss fights even more. I mean, what else could they do? That being said, swapping the Koopalings to 3D could give them a ton more options for boss fights, while also likely making their signature spinning shells less effective. On the other side, the Broodals would have far worse boss fights in a 2D Mario game, especially keeping their current fighting styles. They would be very bland and easy to defeat, even if being very different from each other

Yeah, your right, I agree. If a 3D fight swapped with a 2D fight, the one that was 2D would be harder, and the one that was 3D would somewhat be easier.

To be honest the best bossfights of koopalings are the ones on the spinoff games, the Mario & Luigi Series, the paper Mario series (thats about it that I know to be honest) but they're so well made, You should look into them sometime, I think you would enjoy, also even tho I don't celebrate it Happy thanksgiving!

In my opinion, I personally hate the broodals. They came out of nowhere and are repetitive. For example, I would prefer the koopalings in Mario odyssey because then we could have a different one every kingdom.
Maybe they could have a DLC with the Koopalings and the Broodals working together. Like Ludwig and Topper working together in a fighter, but there are 7 Koopalings and 4 Broodals so I'm not sure how it would work out, but they should try.
