- In this video I field strip video I show how to take apart a really cool old single shot 20 gauge shotgun, the Winchester Model 37A. This model should not be confused with the Model 37. I also replace the broken plastic forend spacer with a modern made one in aluminium.

My Uncle had one among his numerous Doubles and Browning Auto-5's in 16 ga. and my brother-in-law has a 12 ga. I remember seeing these when they first came out in ''The Progressive Farmer'' and thought they looked great with their engraving on the receiver and the gold trigger! Offsprings of the Model 37 Steelbilt! Congrats on a nice Single-barreled shotgun!
Thank you so much! I am glad to have it in the collection.
I inherited one of these shotguns from my father in law.
Had it completely restored (had not been shot in years) and safety checked.
I am passing it along to my son.
Great family heirloom.
Thanks for the video. It helps a lot!!!
I am so glad it helped! That is why I like to make these.
Very cool
Thanks Joe!
These were a copy of the Canadian made Cooey mode 84/840 the spacer was metal and so was the trigger guard until Winchester took over the factory and switched to plastic . Mid to late 1960s if I recall
Great information! Thank you!
Good morning, Jason, great gun, perfect for home defense if you can get the 20g ammo. Here in the real world of Oz, 20g ammo is bit like Dorothy's shoes, rare. It's also brilliant that you are giving the venerable gun an overhaul. Keep bringing out the quality video's Cheers.
Thank you so much Andrew!
I did this very repair on my mid-70s Winchester model 840. Used the same part from the same vendor. Mine is a 12 gage and kicks like a mother………..
That is what I hear. I am glad you liked this video.
does this part fit the 410 37A
I am not sure but I think it probably would.
Price ?
I do not remember but I want to say the part was pretty cheap.
