I noticed one the first time in a series set in South Africa and kept an eye open. They appeared regulalrly on Gun Broker where i got mine in near-mint condition some years ago. When they do appear, the prices are usually very high. A large quantity vendor had a crateful of used ones some years ago and was selling them off for around four hundred - a steal if you ask me. They are very nice pieces. According to your serial #, your piece is also 49 guns away from mine.

If you go for the Langdon version, you get into some heavy bread, somewhere around 2.5K. Original version can still be found used for under $500

Fun anecdote. My M16A2 failed to extract during rifle qualification during Marine Corps boot camp. I had pink eye so bad I had to pry my eye open between shots. I had a group of DIs standing around me to take my weapon from me after every shot to extract the brass before giving it back. Had my own private range qualification. Only qualified Sharp Shooter, unfortunately.

To this day my local shop loves a Dirty Harry marathon, they will sell 5-10 44 mag handguns only to get 90% or more returned, therefore it is like free money for them, my 629 came with a box of 48 rounds, the previous owner fired it 2 times.

I have that pistol, bought it back in 1992 or 1993 in 40 caliber and I have a barrel for the Sig .357 caliber. Back at that time, Winchester developed the Black Talon in .40 caliber, I still have mine that I bought before they took them off the market.

Seems to have a lot of quality of life decisions in it's design. Plenty of things on that gun should just be common sense standard for future firearms.

What Brand of Barrel?

Important note. Rack the gun. Put safety on. Do not pull trigger. It will not go back together if the trigger has been pulled. I learned the hard way. I use a 1/2 " dowl rod to put buffer tube it. It won't just drop down. Just tap it. There are videos on how to disassembly the firing pin assembly. I've shot about 1000 rounds. Great gun. Very accurate. I use a nylon brush to clean the firing pin assembly. Gets really dirty.

We have that exact same model … Carry with the rail. U could not offer me another SIG .45 in trade. The best 3 shot … group I ever shot = this pistol.

As an owner of one myself I will say that I enjoy this product very much but their are some things that I personally don’t like about it. 1.) the battery drains fast due to the light staying on inside at all times 😢 2.) It’s not padded enough on the inside so a firearm will move around a lot unfortunately. 3.) It’s not water proof or Water resistant so becareful not to take it out near any body of water.

There is a screw right below the rear sight would be in front of the hammer. Wouldn't that be the rear sight elevation?

Safety lever is very taurus-like. Of course that makes sense considering the lineage of both guns

Stick w/ standard velocity ammo per the manual. The slide stop is susceptible to peening/ cracking when subjected to HV ammo. Change the springs in the magazines and it will fix your FTF issues. Have both the 4.5 and 6” since 2000. Use them every day on the farm and the occasional competition. Mount a red dot and pickup a custom holster from Gear Maniacs, and you’ll have the perfect set up. Colt is the same quality as always. Different markings are just that. They outsource parts are tested to meet the requirements and TDP. Actually BCM AND Colt use Microbest BCGs and are tested exactly the same way. They are the same parts, different markings. Colt and FN both have used outsourced parts for a very long time. Markings or not. They are not cutting corners. CR….. Stands for COLT Rifle…CR makes a lot of sense right? 🤷‍♂️

Next time if you test for accuracy you really should get yourself a rear bag. Also get yourself some fix it sticks. Anyone that has optics should have tools to do proper setup and maintenance. I’m here though because I just bought the same upper thanks for the review.

Does this exist in 9mm with threaded barrel?

From South Africa these are used a fair bit in competition over hear. They have an exelent reputation. I've shot one before and in my opinion it shoots smoother than the Beretta but recoils just slightly heavier if that makes sense. There are also a few in police service.

Another difference, is the fact that the barrel is not grooved but hexhoigal.

I am South African, and have had it from 1991, many rounds through it, no mechanical failure.
