I don’t get how Kennedy is on the same level as Maggie and Kyla. She has a built in deducting from in her preflight with her bent leg, whereas Kyla and Maggie don’t. Idk tho, it’s still an epic vault. As for McKayla/Brenna and Alex, Alex’s vault is just so much higher and more technically sound, the only deduction seemed to be the hop, rather than lack of height and Brenna’s lack of balance etc. My two sense 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ not saying it’s right it’s just my opinion
Your two cents* are dead on! Kennedi is a great gymnast, but she doesn't show the same level of MASTERY that Kyla and Maggie in particular show. I was always taught that throwing skills is not the same thing as performing them as close to perfection as humanly possible. When someone has truly mastered a skill, they make it look easy: Kyla just seemed to float into that stick. He Kexin and Yao Jinnan on UB- mastery. Shannon Miller on BB- mastery. You know what I mean!🤘💖
Don't disagree with the critique and think Kennedy was overscored (as were Elizabeth Price and Alex McMurtry), but Kennedy's height and distance far outpaced pretty much every other vault in the clip. Plus the shape of the arc formed by Kennedy's body in the air was stellar on her first vault. Really difficult to tell with all the vaulters who had their coaches standing in front of the camera. As to Kyla, I wouldn't argue with a judge who discerned that her toes weren't fully pointed all the way around when she was in the air. The real thing to see here is the generous scoring for some and not others.

So many of the scores are ridiculous. Alex's overscoring is obvious, but Derrian's was much worse than Kennedi's, Maggie's, and Kyla's.
derrian’s score was too high i agree but also she had gone after maggie which makes it more bizzare 😭
i think kennedi’s has a pretty obvious knee bend, but maybe it’s not very visible from judges angle. i would’ve given it to maggie and kyla
@@kameroncoleman9293 Jesus Christ. I don't understand what was wrong with the judges considering she didn't even stick it. She was also so off balance while saluting. That might be some of the most obnoxious overscoring I've ever seen
I wonder why none of them do any vaults outside of 4.32, 4.33, and 4.34... I wish there was more vault diversity!
It’s because of the flawed 10.0 scoring system. They stick to the same vaults rather than pushing the boundaries because they still get a 10.0 starting value even for vaults that aren’t that hard. It’s one of the biggest faults in womens collegiate gymnastics, and it’s also why most of them actually get worse in college than they were in high school or at the OTC

Same old same old vaults. This old 10.0 scoring system needs to change.
I hate it how they do easy vaults and become champion, I wish ncaa scoring was more like elite scoring.
I disagree, it would be more about difficulty and elss about technique, artistry and fun.
