My Portal axles are manufactured by Shimonda, and include bearings on the steering....$117 US(!)

You could also take a different set of shock towers, clip off all unnecessary parts and bolt the modified towers to the towers that are bolted to the chassis. You won't gain any additional room under the battery tray but it is a lot easier than making a new chassis.

Great, competent review Sir. I'd add, with Chinese parts, it's probably worth just tightening bolts and dry run the car for a bit before starting to replace bolts to stainless. Some parts can be utter garbage, snap right away, and it might not be worth all that work. Better make sure they hold up first.

I bought a set of portals on AliExpress from BDXRC they are pretty nice hope they hold up. Question, the set I bought has spiral ring and pinion. Is there a set of non spiral ring and pinion gears that is compatible? I don’t like the spiral gears so i will be hopefully replacing the front and rear. If I can’t replace them I guess I’ll underdrive the front and rear to 24t front and rear. I don’t know why but the ones I have in a set I have has 33-8 front and rear but the front is giving me issues it hangs up rear is fine no issues.
