- I thought I can do this hill on my exc 300, so I come as media to see if I can go and start next year to show them all how easy it is... but now I'm pretty sure - it's impossible.
In the videos this climb looked pretty easy, now I'm sure no one can shoot it straight on a standard bike!
On September 20, Impossible Arette will take place in the French Pyrenees.
This year the climb turned out to be impossible - no pilot managed to climb to 220 meters.

In my younger days I definitely would have given this a try. Not in front of a crowd, too shy. But with a couple of buddies, and a couple of beers... hell yeah.
That guy at 18:47 was all sorta ANGRY 🤔😡 I have NO idea why......He did great, he had the chance in LIFE to even try it & be out riding & competing there.......When 100% of the others have FAILED, he STILL did good AND had the opportunity to just try & do it !!!! Wish I could........STILL........I've been riding dirt bikes, quads and 4x4's all my life........Now at 54 y/o, & over the years, 25 broken & healed bones later, countless stitches........I can't..........Still wish I could........🤔☹😉

This is great training for those living in and around the Alps, many of whom have to face hills like this on their daily commute.
It's fun watching them go up the hill, but I'd really like to see the footage of when all these guys ride back down.
They don't go down in the same spot.

I used to do motocross before I broke my tibia plateau - and man when watching this, I seriously clench my bum cheeks all the way up the hill. The hill doesn't look that steep on some angles, but it looks way different when you're on the bike. These guys have ballz of STEEL :)

Some people don't realize how steep this hill really is. We have one here in Northern California which is similar and I can't get more than a quarter the way up on a stock swingarm and MX Dunlop rear tire. These Hill climbing beasts are insane and so are these guys.

You try to climb only with your motorcycle boots and helmet, you'll reach the very top of the hill earlier.
Legend says Edek would easily do this with a 500 excf.

These dudes have very decked out bikes, lavish uniforms, helmets, etc... Clearly - they think this is a monumental undertaking "achievement" and they appear to be well prepared... Then, half of these people don't even get a third of the way up the hill... It's like preparing / training for a marathon, getting the most expensive running attire (shoes, shorts, etc); and then completing the arduous run in 17 hours...

It's much more fun watching when not 75% of the people make it to the top like in the AMA hill climbs. It's like they don't want to hurt the feelings of the lesser riders. Maybe AMA should give everyone a trophy? As an American i am ashamed of the AMA hill climbs. Been ridding over 50 years. At 63 all i can say is hold my beer i'm for it!
