    The Swivel is a compact and foldable COB+LED work light. The COB module projects a smooth, broad beam up to 400 lumens for near-field illumination, while the LED provides a more focused and farther beam. Both light sources are dimmable to meet your specific needs. Powered by a 2600mAh battery that is rechargeable via a Type-C port, the product runs up to 90 hours. It also features a 180° adjustable clip-style stand with magnets inside for convenient hands-free uses. Around the COB module is a glow-in-the-dark strip to mark the product's presence. The sturdy and well-sealed ABS body holds well against daily impacts and water splashes. Versatile, rugged, and flexible, the Swivel will cover your tasks in various working conditions.
    -COB module that produces ample near-field floodlight when repairing things or working.
    -Extra LED at its head to deliver a focused beam just like an EDC flashlight.
    -180° adjustable clip-style stand allows you to adjust the beam angle as needed, and hang the product on a backpack, tent, branch or more.
    -Three heavy-grip magnets inside the stand attach firmly onto any iron surface.
    -Built-in 2600mAh battery that is rechargeable via a Type-C port, achieving a max runtime of 90 hours when using the energy-saving low mode.
    -Sturdy ABS body with an IPX4 rating that resists corrosion, heat, impact, and water splash.
    -Glow-in-the-dark strip around the COB module to easily locate the product in the darkness.
    -400 max lumens on flood

    Nice video. You make some great points especially on the swivel part. What I think could of been better is the drop level is too low for a work light and the water proof part should of been better as well. Love your video for they are honest and to the point. That's what people like. Straight to the point. Thanks for work

    You're 100% right about it not doing what it's named. The swivel-less should be called the hanger... it can do that 😆

    I speak Spanish I'm Mexican, but now I get a quick English class with the word Swivel, for us it's only a fancy name but to you English speakers are a different thing I will contact the Chinese lady that is attending our Mexican olight store and mention this observation with the word Swivel, great review, very detailed and direct to the point, congratulations and keep up the good work

    Thanks, I have 3 now, really happy with them. Great review, cheers

    I honestly like the 3 seconds for changing modes, as apposed to having to click buttons just to turn it off. Seeing as some flashlights I've already seen do it that way then to have other buttons. I do agree on the battery's not being able to be replaced if it goes bad.

      Yes, I like it too. I was looking for a simple on/off work light without switching through modes on every click, this one is right on!

    I have been on the fence about buying one. Your great review has moved me to a ho.dong pattern. If the apply at least one of your suggestions AND have it swivel, I will be buying one.

    I have one of these and love it, I just wish the head actually swivelled instead of just folding

    If this is a work light you should be able to twist the light for more directional light

    Tehy fixed the gripes you had in the Swivel Pro Max. But a reviewr said the magnets are weak for the size/weight of light. :) Chaper than buying a "rechargeable lantern" :) Which can be double the price but does put out 360 degrees of light because it is a lamp/lantern. Looks like a lantern too...from Olight.

    Great video as always! Love how you put the definition of swivel in this video. Could the name of the light be false-ish advertising? Hmm….👍

    Really cool light. Lots of awesome features. But the outward opening carabiner is not one of them. Great review 👍

    Great review Chrispy I like the product and totally agree with the points you made and hope Olight takes into consideration these views and adjusts the product. I definitely think it has major potential but could do with some refinement imo. For a blackout home situation would you pick the Oswivel or the Olantern? Or something completely different?

      @ChrispyThings  Před 2 lety +1

      I have the Olantern and think it’s great as an emergency light, or outdoors. If they fix some of the issues with the Swivel, then I’d change my answer.

    Great review. I've ordered one and I'm looking forward to it. But I agree that area type lights would be preferable if a warmer and more pleasant tint. I love the Olantern and Olantern mini, but I wish they too were warmer, more like the Obulb. On the other hand, I love the "flaming candle" element for the Olantern for pleasant ambient light in a nice warm tint. But I wish the main module was 4000 or 5000k.

      I just got one, and I'm thinking of getting a red tinted film/screen protector for it. Just wondering if it would overheat. ..melt and ruin it.

    looks nice, i own many Olights, but the similar Nitecore is better because you can swap the battery.

    Heya Chris! I use a Braun rechargeable in my shop ALL the time and it's just a COB light. Having a smaller form factor in comparison with the addition of being able to use the magnets to mount it near or on your work. I dig it! Hope all is well my Friend! Zip~

  • @Blankford777

    So it’s named the Swivel and doesn’t swivel…am I missing something?

  • @brianbartulis9709
    @brianbartulis9709 Před 2 lety

    yeah, they should have at least configured last setting on the COB to be last setting used on/off/on where ya left it. Like my Warrior Mini 2 does.
    Kinda funny. I just got a yellow one and it says Limited Edition. With a non-replaceable battery, limited edition is a bit of oxy-moron, if meant as a collectable type light.
    I like it though, being my Olantern mini has a solid bail handle. The foldable gives me more options.
    lol, I guess I can keep the foldable in an old ankle sock.
    ~~ Years from now we'll see a vid of clever to do with the shell/magnet loop of a burned out Olight foldable. (-:

    Great idea with a few flaws. I would want a 2nd battery installed for longer run time. 5 hours on high is nice, 10 would be more useful. Totally stupid user interface. I don't know who comes up with some of these annoying, quirky UIs but they need to stop. I really like the idea and design, but I will hold off for version 2.0

  • @tacticalwarriorviking5089

    Nice video. I hope version 2.0 fixes every con you mentioned as they are perfectly justified. Olight... Please pay attention to these reviews.

  • @donaldstrader7241
    @donaldstrader7241 Před 2 lety +1

    A good review which hits the salient points. A lot of work/industrial lights make a point of advertising how neutral their light is which is extremely important to discern wire color, surface defects, paint color, etc. Very disappointing that Olight does not do better in this regard, especially if they are trying to penetrate a crowded market not just sell to current fans such as myself...yeah I keep telling them about neutral white. ;-) Or if they want to be a couple hundred degrees cooler that still does not preclude a higher CRI, they could call it absolute white or something. [I have seen pure white already used by another light purveyor.] Crappy White [CW] just does not cut it in a work light. Although most Olights seem to exceed their rating by a lot, a meter drop rating for a work light is pitiful. Same with IPX4, especially if the battery is sealed inside, what is the reason the light can't make IPX7 like their Obulb? The hanger is awesome, but as you pointed out it would be even better if the light really did swivel. I can see having it hinged might be easier, less expensive, and more reliable, and don't know without using it how much only having it hinged will impact use.

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  Před 2 lety

      Not really sure why it’s only IPX4. Looking at it further it seems as if the USB port is the only spot that water could penetrate. The rubber seal seems tight enough to repel a heavier rainfall, or “water jets” as they test in actual IP ratings.
      Color temp is over looked a lot in flashlights. Many lights these days are just too blue. Which is fine in most cases, but with a work light it really needs to be a warmer temp closer to neutral.

    Mate , this light is literally a rip-off of the Unilite SLR series work lights .
    Except it's less powerful, fewer modes and overall not as good , not even close actually.
    Kinda disappointed to see Olight blatantly copy the competition and come up short at the same time , really .
