This isn't the first Bear to ask for equity and (99% likely) not get it. After the barnstorming tours of the 1920's, Red Grange wanted a piece of the Bears since he was the main attraction, to which Halas turned him down. Later in the 30's Grange tried to buy part of the Bears, also turned down. In the 70's Governor Pritzker's dad tried to buy the Bears with Sid Luckman.

I will read her article. Bears need to be leery of Calebs dad. I don’t want Williams to sign a contract and dad is looking for loopholes to get him more money. By having Caleb sit out games so he can get what he wants.
I've got 2 questions running through my mind about Caleb right now. They are Q1. What's more important to him in order. Winning a Superbowl. Winning an NFC Championship. Making the Playoffs. Winning the Division. Beating the Packers. Making Bank/Brand Caleb.
Q2 is. How does Brand Caleb mix with the McCaskeys and Bears Management and how will that relationship play out. Will they constantly be at war or will the McCaskeys be able to adjust to fit a superstar QB into the franchise.

I think Caleb is a very good QB prospect, but I just really get the feel that wherever he goes, going into year 4 of his contract is when headaches will begin... maybe even sooner
If he wins two Superbowls or even gets the Bears to two Superbowls…you’ll be giving him the key to the city.

What happened that you now feel its a foregone conclusion that Justin will be traded?
Bears media wanted to play will we keep our bust of a qb or draft one of the best prospects in 20 years. When they tried to do that with other media they got clowned on.
I really wish the internet wasn’t anonymous so we could bully people who claim he’s the best prospect in 20 years, once he doesn’t live up to it.

Probably because most people outside of Chicago see Fields as a mediocre QB with serious flaws that will hold him back. He will not be a top 15 QB holding the ball too long, fumbling a lot and missing open receivers down the field. These same people believe Caleb can be a top 15 QB fairly quickly with the chance to be even better. Plus next years QB class is nowhere as good as this years.
He didn't want to go to the Arizona Cardinals a Sunbelt team that doesn't care, nobody cares about, and is consistently the worst in NFLPA grades.
He mainly didn't want to go to the Cardinals because then it would displace Kyler Murray who was also a Sooner. Same thing Stroud said about not wanting to go to Chicago last year because of Fields.
@robdaniel3211 It wasn’t because he was a sooner it’s because Murray has a huge contract meaning the team would be in a bad finical situation for the first few years of his career.

I don't understand the 'resetting the clock' narrative. Trading for several high picks would ultimately be more cap beneficial over the next 4-5 years. Say they trade down to 3 and pick up a second this year and a first and a second next year. Say they take MHJ at 3, an edge early in the second, an OT and DT next year with the other extra picks. Well, now you have 4 top flight prospects on rookie deals for the next 4-5 years. Combined that's at least $60-70m a year saved at those positions... more if they're truly top tier
A GREAT QB makes as much money as all those three players combined…the problem is..if You pay Justin Field 60 mill per 5 years( because you’re convinced he’s the guy) and he ends up NOT being the guy..you are stuck with 60 mill to a mediocre QB and a Defense that wins games FOR HIM…and then all those picks you took will come to you asking you to pay them TOP DOLLAR aka Jaylon Johnson…because They are THE REAL REASON Bears wins games..but you CANT PAY THEM because Your MEDIOCRE QB is making 60 mill a year.
4-5 top flight players if you hit on all those picks.

Caleb is going to be a LOT more trouble than many believe, and he is way too much about the money, and will create headaches for owners they will never foresee. On the field he is Not the best QB in this class. Jayden Daniels is better, and likely even Maye and Jj McCarthy, or even Bo nix. The hype is beyond what the bears need. Lots of downside. Big risks.

I’m from The H. Last year was a big surprise 3-13-1 jump to 10-7. Regardless what this next season brings. I still a sign they are on the right track. Bears went from 3-14 to 7-10 and almost made the playoffs. We didn’t get the number one overall pick because we’re trash. We played well down the stretch for the rest of the season. We have what can be considered a 10 defense with over 80 million in cap space. Top notch draft picks. If Joe Burrow can do it. Why the next Mahomes can’t do it? He should.
