In this video, Patrick Hall of Fstoppers continues his photography studio hacks series and explores how to mount multiple canvas backdrops into the ceiling while hiding all chains and gaps that are so often left as an eye sore. Using a few different Gravity Backdrops, this setup is built with two XL backdrops to form a obtuse angle cove and then two smaller backdrops in front to give the appearance of a multi layered backdrop. This setup can be great for both photography and videography and give you that Vanity Fair, Annie Leibovitz styled shoot, this is the perfect setup for you.
Good job Patric! Not only are you doing something I have never seen before. You are constructing it single handedly while also filming a video about it at the same time.

The single hangers were a good idea over the doubles just in case. The articulating arm I remember showing my coworkers it and they thought it was a great idea especially in such a limited space where putting it away is quick without fear of knocking over stuff while putting it away.

Can this method work for video? And fabric backdrops not muslin or paper? I have a 7-10 backdrops that I always have to fold and steam before use. I want to roll them like this but wondering if it would operate the same

Oh man, that's a good question. I think Lee in another video may have mentioned a comment relating to shipping problems to the island. It would be good to see a reply relating to this since an ancient shipping law still exists there.
@@SanFranciscoDiscovery Yeah it can be tough ordering stuff here. Amazon is pretty good and BH ships here. Batteries are a problem lately. I had to have my wife bring Sony A7s batteries through her carry on bag because they won't ship. -P
