It seems like the majority of PKA viewers hate at least one of the hosts. There's a lot of circle jerking of hate in the comments. Like people that enjoy hating the hosts lol

I lived in the area that the Jonestown cult was from. Not all of them left with Jim Jones and alot stayed kept causing problems for everyone in Ukiah, willits, and the redwood valley. They were then called the Kult and after Jim Jones died a family took over the Kult and it eventually tapered off after 30 years.

As a Christian I believe the best way to combat the risk of cults if to prioritize your personal relationship with God over all at least when you are confused. As a Roman Catholic I know this sounds straight out of Luther's mouth. Guy had good points, Pope Francis would easily say so. Luther was beyond a tortured soul, someone who couldn’t control the intrusive ideas like how he is going to Hell for having the image of the Devil's ass etched indelibly in his mind's eye. Classic ocd case like tesla. Science and OCD is a Stressful combo but OCD + Religion is such a heavy fucking cross. I can say I didn’t skip one day as an 8 y/o w/o worrying I would go to hell. How I was tormented by the concept of suicide which is funny because I had zero depression and a lust for life. What scared me was how easily you could end yourself on a whim, my kid brain didn’t even know how exactly you would do that but remained the thoughts. If suicide wasn’t so disgusting to me and terrorizing my OCD wouldn’t have latched on to it, would have found my second most idea of disgust.

Religion belives in what they say.
A cult knows they are purposely exploiting people.
Difference is if the leader believes is legit or not.
A cult is a snake oil salesman on a larger scale.
Religion is for people who need value in their valueless lives. Or ex alcoholics. A way to feel good about themselves.
A cult is about getting something by exploiting, sex, money drugs etc.
It comes down mostly to ur character. And ur overall purpose. Not all cults are evil and not all religions are good.
There may not be a real difference.
But i think u can tell.

He was a weird and creepy guy that you definitely wouldn't want to know, her parents were even weirder though as they allowed and encouraged him to marry her at that age! Unfortunately because of that reason the government couldn't do anything about it I think. That said, CPS didn't find any evidence of child abuse beyond that, which the government used as a slander against the cult, probably because of his pedo history of marrying a 14 year old. It's a really weird story tbh.
