While I get they were riding the "Viking bandwagon" Viking Assassins just feel so out of place. As a Greek i really liked this game! Not only it was amazing having a game set in Ancient Greece and seeing all the ancient ruins in the former glory, but also they used many Greek actors and the music also had traditional greek elements.
Also i liked the part you could tour yourself with the ancient sites with a narrator which I don't think other AC games have, so it was both fun and educational for many fans.

My only gripe is the leveling up system of your character and enemies and constant gear upgrade. I just don't think they needed that type of system for the game. I understand as you get better enemies need to be harder but to make every enemy roughly the same as your stats as you build up just seemed a bit pointless. I know there are obviously the legendary enemies that require very high stats but I just think they could of worked it a bit different. Apart from that it's a beautiful game with so many different things to do. Fantastic

Different studios. They've reused the assets, but other people were making it. Amazing how many countries Ubisoft was in. I chose Kassandra because valhalla has a side quest where Kassandra visits eivor. Kassandra’s character is just perfect! The game is amazing! The different types of side quests make the game so fun! To them Origins has a pig sticker, so it fits into their vision of the proper AC. They still hate leveling to progress like in so many other such games decades prior, or opening a menu to equip newer gear. It all has to be the same 1 button from behind, no thought involved, or a shoulder button first then that same button. Origins is clearly better than all the older AC games, and Odyssey improves on it. But they've that cult going on around the old games. I did play then too, some were better, some so so. It had to do with a ship being shown at the wrong spot to me first. It was kinda weird. Then that bug. It got fixed by opening your inventory screen seconds after entering. Since I remember that's how the ship bug happened first somehow too. So after hours of web searches, graphics updating, restarting I thought let me try this. You need to see they Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War. Yes, they took from these newer ACs too, but it's their own formula by now. Plus their Batman games. Some of the puzzles are right from there. I don't know about Witcher. Witcher doesn't play like AC Odyssey. Cause I've replayed both recently. There are similarities in how the open world is made. But Witcher took it from Gothic, and Shenmue. And it stank in Witcher 2. The combat started with Zelda Ocarina of Time. You can't do a game like that well and not copy it. But it's not owned by Witcher. I think overall Witcher is very overrated. It did some things well, but I hate every game being compared to it. Odyssey isn't a clone. it has ranged, it has ships. It's magic system is better.

I think the only reason people aren’t liking the new assassins creed games is just because they’re so different from the originals. But I honestly really love the mix up, the games feel way more “modern” than the old ones I guess. The rpg style just makes the games feel like they aren’t stuck in 2013

Hey! Chiming in early for the video about the performance, you might know this already but if you manually disable the Uplay overlay for Odyssey it fixes a lot of the stutter issues the game has.

Some people don’t understand that odyssey eh-Valhalla were meant to tie in the first civilization more into the AC world. I get that no assassin=not Ac, but it’s something that made me understand the devs thinking more, and it was genius idea, just needed tie in the Templar and assassins more by the end of odyssey or Valhalla.
One thing I loved in Valhalla was (spoiler)
How you actually end up creating the Templar order basically by killing all of the order of the ancient members… crazy how eivor literally created the new and improved “Order of the ancients”

Now everyone seems to love this game, but when it came out a lot of people where complaining about the same things people complain about in Valhalla, "it's too bloated, the world feels empty, it has no soul, etc." It seems to be the cycle with pretty much every big AAA franchise nowdays.

I really enjoyed this game tbh the world was alive and beautiful i found myself stopping so many time to admire the scenery whether it was natural or just the architecture, the characters had some personality to them great voice acting and the gameplay sure wasn't really "assassin's creed" but was fun for what it was. I also liked the dlc for this game it wasn't just some random missions it was a pretty long story with a new map and different characters etc. pretty fun game i honestly enjoyed these new ac even though many don't seem to like the rpg element of these new games.

They needed to stop calling them that stupid name since Black Flag. They outgrew Persia. They made almost an open world full on big adventure game in Black Flag, and I'd say that both Unity and Syndicate even. Every tie in to the Persian cult from their first game felt silly, artificial and dumb to me. And BTW not just me, as I saw over the years on many forums. But because of this cult following the old games had, they felt obligated. The result is, you can't just enjoy Odyssey, you have to insert TBH. As if you've sinned. The devs that hate religion, created their very own religious cult. Think of that man, it is really funny.

I feel like the only reason people hated this game because it wasn’t a traditional AC game nor did it really focus heavily on the traditional Assassins/Hidden ones vs Templar’s/Cult of Kosmos /Order of Ancients. If it was simply a stand alone open world RPG it would be one of the most highly loved games in gaming history i feel like. The story was really really really interesting, the way side missions and main missions blended together was just amazing and the world was so incredibly detailed. I have over 100 hours on this game and to this day i’m still finding myself playing

It's not meant to "end". You can end the stories and the DLCs. They kept adding content on. You can quit if you want after the main lines are done, but if you don't it's more like an online RPG. Though replaying it now I did a New Game Plus, and only did the main lines. The OG stories took 45 hours that way. All the cultists, the family, and the artifacts. I'm on the DLCs now. It can be short if you want it to be short.
