Peter Rye, Antares, Jeremiah Omada and Mullah Poster, you're all right guys. It also called my attention that figure for payload 120 tons. Thanks to all for doing the work and save time.
Very disappointing. Inaccurate and misleading facts. For example, about a 19 tonne load is OK for C-130, but 120 tonnes for A400 is obviously incorrect. That's it's gross weight, it's typical max load is something more like 30 tonnes. C-130 also usually has a shorter take-off; the video is clearly of a heavily loaded C-130 vs a lightly loaded A400. Not a credible or fair comparison at all.
As Payload of a A400 is nearly double that of a C-130, what weapons would you prefer on that gunship? May a 155mm howizer and a couple of 35mm MKs?! ;-)
@@hellboystein2926 The A-400 is a cargo plane. The C-130 is a cargo plane, a special ops plane, refueller, electronic warfare plane, flying command post, gunship, water bomber, drone carrier - did I miss anything out?
Germany don't uses the Hercules. We had the Transall and now we bought the A400M. The max payload of a A400M is 37tons (live from the airbus homepage).
A 400M Atlas may be better for airlifting since its bigger and more modern but it doesnt have the history that the C 130 has... the C 130 has been in service for years and the only thing to ever replace it was better versions of itself... meanwhile Airbus steals the generic airlifter design: the curved wings and the high tail fin... the A 400M is not unique or special its just the generic airlifter design with turboprops instead of turbofans and tries to replace a plane that is a legend of cargo planes for a lot more money then the C 130 cost..
I think the power of the 4 engine proppell especially in heavy duty freight my research better to be wise with gravity air in the air ' cause more flexible room for climbing and gliding in the air except wise speed ........due to propell 4 engine are exposing ..........due to the weight of the freight be able to compromise with heavy duty weight , wind force and gravity space atmosphere result good and accurate gliding .......... thank you may be i am wrong but this is how i felt during flight with c130 simulator cockpit ..........measurement make perfect safety ...........and conviniences and confident........
A400M is much expensive but also max bigger. Max Range and max. loading capacity. But both planes have their advantages. In german army we can need both planes and because of this that this two complete different planes with different size and capacity... this planes no competitor. We are lucky to have both!!
The 400 isnt as good as the 130 nor the 17. The 400 is an in betweener. That means it cant operate to the lower specs of the 130 nor the upper end of the 17.
payload of A400 is 37000 kg, the 122 000kg are the max landing weight ....thats official... c130 has about 20 000 kg, depending on the type of plane...
A400M is twice as big as the C-130, almost twice the C-130J payload, so it’s pointless to compare. Max payload is 37000kg. C-130 50 years of history...who cares ? With this kind of thinking you would still be flying P-51 and C-47, common guys, grow up !
Size and payload of the A400 doesn't matter since it can't fly. Lol. A Cessna has better payload since it can actually takeoff and fly without breaking down.
Mate...the c17 is $218m USD vs the Super Herc at $67m USD. The C17 is heavy lift...the two aircraft in this comparison are medium lift. It's like saying the Bugatti Chiron is better between a comparison of a Ford Ranger and a Jeep Wrangler 🤔
Not comparable, since C17 is jet powered and cannot operate on non-prepared airfields. C17 is very good once you have established a foothold and have secured or prepared an airfield. C130 is very good but more limited in cargo than A400, which can transport most APC, IFVs etc.. (not heavy tanks, only C5 galaxy or Antonov can). Both planes are very good and many modern armies operate both for various roles. These comparison videos are useless for the most part.

Old vs new technology more than 30yrs technology
The vs here does not make sense as these 2 aircraft are not in the same class

I believe that the RMAF operates both A400M and C-130 Hercules.
Apart from that, Nice comparison!
Super Hercules is different with Malaysian Old Hercules, learn more...
Now turn the Airbus into a gunship and use it in every war you can find over the next 50 years...then get back to us.

The German Airforce doesn't operate the C-130. They've got the C-160 Transall. You should do some research before posting something like that.

Yup they do now. Why - well it’s because the A400m can’t do what the C130j can after 6 yrs in service.......
Yes they do. Cause the A400 is trash so more European nations bought C-130s cause their own project is a failure.
German Air Force new 3 C-130J-30s and 3 KC-130Js.
Who cares what Germany does? They’re not fighters. Liberal cowards. Nothing like an American fighting man

Is the data correct? Maximum payload for C-130J is 19 tonnes whereas A400M is 120 tonnes.
It is incorrect. You would need a C-5 Galaxy or Antonov-124 to lift 120 tonnes!!!
