Battle of Ruapekapeka Pa: 170th anniversary mass haka

Maori from across New Zealand's North Island marked the 170th anniversary of Ruapekapeka Pa on January 10, 2016, with a spectacular day of ceremony, speeches and mass haka. This is an excerpt from the last haka of the day, performed by hundreds of warriors from Tai Tokerau, Tainui, Tauranga Moana and Tuhoe.

Hi Alexis - the battle was fought in 1846 between Maori and British forces (and their Maori allies). There's a great website at www.ruapekapeka.co.nz which will tell you everything you'd ever want to know.
