Man, I love seeing the ticket mod "in the wild". My assistant manager and I were the original developers of that mod back in the DDR 3rd Mix days. I ran some Namco arcades, and the goal was to find an easy mod with supplies all the stores had on hand. Once we hit on this and it's simplicity, Namco sent out a company wide e-mail for all the stores to do it. Back then, the sensors still had tons of life left in them, so the mod was extremely effective.
As a 2 decade long electrician, all I can do is nod my head knowingly as you uncover more and more layers of jank beneath the surface. It's like I'm at work right now.
im playing a little bit of both. I have a tech-based tournament on Saturday (in person, crazy), but I also enjoy footspeed. I got my first ITG 16 yesterday on it as well which will be uploaded tomorrow
I could sell considering I'm not gonna need it anymore, but no, I'm just using a standard dell optiplex to run stepmania 5 for ITG and the stepmania 3.95 version of DDR extreme.
the cab and the pads came from Fun Central arcade in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. You have to be lucky and find a deal out in the wild, or start emailing your arcades. Replacement arcade pad parts can be found at ddrpad.com
@@5K00O yes sorry, I use Pegasus as a launcher and it lets me select MAME releases and PCSX2 releases. Check it out here: github.com/evanclue/ddr-picker
@@vvvazirixx8549 I'm curious, do you have the cab running on it's own power or is it all from the PC? 'Cause I'm thinking of getting a cab too, but I'm unsure if I need to use the cab's own power supply and or my PC's power supply.
Awesome find! I actually have a question if you don’t mind me asking here. My local arcade opened up a while back after the pandemic, and the DDR machine which has In The Groove 2 installed is not working properly. The lights and everything turn on but the screen remains black. Probably got shot by months of not being used. The technicians opened it up and vacuumed it but that’s about it. Not sure if they’ll continue to try to fix it. Would you happen to know what the problem might be? Would it need any new parts and if so what kind? Some kind of tubing or wires? Sorry if I don’t have much to go off on but that’s all I saw. Thanks for any input, and watching the video made me itch to play DDR again!
Is the screen a CRT? This could be one of two things. -A part inside the CRT is dead, look for maybe burnt or missing parts from the boards -The screen resolution/KHz is not setup properly Did this machine work with this same game your running now in the past? If not, I would recommend hooking it back up to DDR to check if its working at all
Yes the screen is CRT it was formerly a DDR Extreme machine then installed ITG2 around 2006 and it’s been around ever since. I’ll try to the talk to the technicians about the problems then, hopefully it’s something fixable now that they can pinpoint it. I appreciate the input. If it’s something beyond their control I can try to ask if they can acquire a new machine. Anything post-Extreme is fine with me. A couple of my friends and I are ready to donate to the cause if anything; willing to pitch-in cash. Thanks again for the help!
@@cretaius No problem! Don't go buying a whole new machine though. Just replace the monitor with a computer monitor like the LG 32" gaming monitor I have shown in the video ( 22:07 ). Also, there is a Dell Ultrasharp model that fits perfectly in the monitor chassy that can be used as a replacement and is an LCD panel. There also a 2 part video titled "Replacing the CRT in my DDR machine" by Leishen if you want to go the Ultrasharp route. Check them out both and see which you like better. Also, I have discord if you would like to talk about it more there and get faster replies :D
I've also seen people mount large 43"-55" TV's onto the machine that cover the entire front of the monitor chassy which is also a neat route, this can be seen here: czcams.com/video/STYYWzLW6FA/video.html

i did keep the tickets that were in the pad, but it’s cool that the mod was revolutionary and that the person who made it commented on my video

Rhythm games and furries, truly iconic

Nice find on this cab and good luck on your journey to getting really gud
i love this type of content. congrats on the ddr machine! are you planning to go into stamina or tech with it?

Awesome process to watch! Looks like the absolute perfect man cave, this :D
That's actually really smart to use a monitor mount. Did not think of that.
worked better than expected, but it can be bouncy if its not supported right
Interesting pad mod. I used the 6 layer gorilla tape method. All though very affective. It was harsh on the knees. So, I went back to foam.
the only reason i’m not on foam right now is because it compresses over time but maybe i’ll switch sometime too
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
np thank you
the pizza box had me dead LMAO
what a steal, super cool video! thanks recommendations
This is a well made video!!
azz bricks is gaming!!
I love this
nice! BTW Are you going to sell your extio? Or are you going to buy a chimera PCB to play with DDR?

I want a ddr cab
Same. I could finally aaa all the mixes I have put off over the years
bro this is so epic to have in your house
it is for sure
Where did u buy the pads from? I want to upgrade a game but it has some missing parts

04:32 Nice cut. lol
odd enough i have seen a arcade closed! It lost power somehow?
If I were to get a cab, i would definitely emulate one of the games that correspond with the cab.
There's a build of MAME that I can get every arcade release before X, so I have that installed but almost never use it
@@vvvazirixx8549 you sure you can get SN1 and 2 AC working on MAME? I got those two working with a special version of PCSX2 instead.

You can't even play survival mode ITG.
