As a swede, I'm proud to say that SVT, our state television was (and is) good when it comes to documenting visiting artist. Just some years ago they found a filmed Hendrix concert from early 1969 in the archives.

When I saw Jack wearing that hat; Grace at a keyboard ; Jack playing his Fender Jazz bass and Kantner still in plastic framed glasses, I knew it was ‘67.

Pretty sure this is from Canada (Expo 67') in '67, NOT Stockholm, '68. I've seen footage of a different version of Pooneil, but they're wearing the same clothes from that '67 Canadian show.

Just found out this is : September 14, 1967 - "The O'Keefe Centre Presents: The Rock Scene: Like It Is" (CBC Television Studios, Toronto, Canada) White Rabbit, Two Heads, Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil
Complete show is in circulation, "White Rabbit" included in "Casey Kasem's The Sixties" video compilation. This version of the song has some lightshow overdubs, made for swedisch TV ?

Is there anymore audio available from this concert ? I've heard Amsterdam and Copenhagen from the 68 tour of Europe with the Doors bu the audio quality (especially Copenhagen) was dreadful.Clearly though, the Airplane was hitting its stride in 68.

Sure it's Canada 1967, and not Sweden 1968 : the only times you'll see Dryden with both really long hair and mustache (with Jefferson Airplane) are 2nd semester of 1967.
In late June 1967, during the Monterey Pop festival, he was already growing his mustache. I guess he wanted to look like Franck Zappa, whom he was in awe of. And that's how he appears on the photographs on the Baxter's LP, which was ready in late 1967 but only released in early 1968.
In december 1967, he'd already cut his hair and shaved the mustache, you can see it in the promo video for "Martha" : czcams.com/video/u0nz_ilXrpg/video.html

This had me fooled for the first few minutes. I thought the footage was from the actual performance, but this was cleverly synced to their Toronto television performance of "Pooneil" (which was in color). The tip-off is that Jack's hair is shorter and his bass is completely different to what h was playing on the European tour in '68.

plus that fact he wasn't playing a Fender jazz in 1968, but his Guild Starfire.

    • @Cap683

By August of 1968 Casady was playing a heavily modified Guild Starfire Bass which was used on Crown of Creation and the live album, Bless It's Pointed Little Head.

They both sang lead, and those intertwining lead vocals by those two amazing voices
is a big part of what made the Airplane so special.
