The camera man sounding as if he was gonna keel over
man its bad altitude is no punk
I still remember when we put teams in there in 2002 for "Operation Anaconda". I can't believe it's been 20 years since.
Were you an SF Operator ?
What was operation Anaconda like?
Anaconda was Zurmat and a shit show. After Tora Bora
@@cd2875 "Operation Jawbreaker" and "Task Force Dagger" went off much smoother. But, in 2002, different units started coming in, and things changed. Even the ROE! The enemy did not get a confirmed kill on any military personnel until Jan of 02. A couple agency guys died and the SF soldiers killed, were killed by misdropped bombs.. and,, we had 12 man ODAs who had killed over 1000 enemy per team in the first 90 days. We weren't allowed to finish it off.
@@randybobandy5538 Trying to drive back those who supported tje Taliban, and going through caves and clearing them. I'm not going to lie. That crap is terrifying. I don't know how those Vietnam tunnel rats must have dealt with that. Many of them were booby trapped.
Are they trying out for the USMC Silent Drill Team? So dang TIGHT! Kidding. Some interesting footage. 👍
Great Documentary inside out
I came here after hearing the Sheriff of Baghdad fought in this.

what?
40:20 i built a cannon just like that when I was 12.. ran on hairspray and potatos
That is an recoilless rifle I believe a spg-9 Soviet built. Unless you say it's got a much bigger impact than some potatoes
Great film. Very interesting.
Come again with explanation
It may stretch upto 3hrs documentary

Smoking inside a cave where there are bombs stashed, that looks very smart.
Bad memories. Really bad. But flashbacks are coming frequently. Every night.
Everyone in it died man
😂😂😂😂😂
Nice
the Tora Bora complex was captured by Soviet soldiers from the 66th brigade twice, in 1981 and 1983. no ads or TV reports:)
Afghans trying to perform Drill and Ceremony and I can't stop laughing...I truly forgot how amusing some of these guys could be. I know they were hard to deal with when it came time to sling some lead because they were never where they were supposed to be but when not facing TIC scenarios it was profoundly amusing to watch them train...
This is a very good cameraman does not understand what he is saying because his guards are abusing the cameraman.😊😋😎
I know guys that would pay 60$ a round for some of that ammo i seen laying on the floor
It's all about time and place

lucky that i understand the language
You must have understood how annoyed his gaurds are.😊😋
52:00 thats all dynamite. Omg
No that is not Dynamite that is ammunition. The rounds he shows at 53:40 are what he is dumping out. Those round are just encased in cardboard sleeves. The ammunition in question is most likely American made or at least NATO standard I'm pretty confident it's 20 mm although the green casing is making me think it might be 25 mm.
@@kijj7187 Its 20mm 25mm is much larger.
Flame throwers would be awesome
Keren...
What a pissy mood that german guy is who is giving instructions to the cameraguy. „Show that! Big! - yes - don‘t say yes all the time...“
What's with those large tins? Big sardines 😂😂 Those are the smallest infamous caves of Tora Bora. The large ones are much bigger. No wonder they couldn't find the Talibans. Those are all hand digged caves from hard rocks. Half of those solders performing are probably stoned.

Afghanistan has quite nice landscapes. Sadly foreign powers destroyed this beautiful nation
You're 100 % right.
“Foreign powers” destroyed it
Zodiac Mindwarp well, you’re not wrong
If by this you mean Saudi Arabia, the Soviet Union & Pakistan then i'd agree with you. But i'm guessing you don't.

So Chinese influence in these territories too?
u know this old cuz scrap prices got up all that shit be ran across the scales
This is not first hand evidence.
It’s just a cave
Its a network of caves. They gave the Soviet's a really hard time. Never underestimate your enemy!
@@a.b.8606 I still havent seen the main cave. The main entrance was vehicle sized and it was over 1000 feet into the mountain with a full set of living quarters. It was a gigantic fortress

19:00 The camera guy can barely breathe and the other dude is smoking. That guy must be totally out of shape. I know its high elevation but still. I live at 8000 ft and go up to 11,000 all the time. Even after riding my bike for 3 hrs up 3000 vertical ft, I don't breathe that hard.
cameras and all the equipment in 2003 was heavy as shit plus they were probably walking and climbing with it the entire day while minding each step of the way
@@Z98136 I agree with what you said but there is no question this guy is out of shape. Let's just say that his camera weighs 10 pounds max. He walked in the footsteps of the guys in front of him and in early 2003 IEDs were much less prevalent especially in the tora bora area. It's probably one of his first patrols but I know if I was going to a war zone with very steep mountains and high elevation the first thing I would do is condition myself for the terrain. This journalist underestimates just how intense the landscape is. US soldier carry packs upwards of 50-80 pounds and this guy has a hard time carrying his camera and batteries. I'm all for journalists filming conflict but they need to prepare better, they are going to a war zone!
yeah but loook what u said u live at 8k the altitude was harsh if your from sea level and we had extreme fitness levels. you dont acclimate in a day the peaks get up over 15k easy
