Summary
1. Lots of Leggings!!
2. One or two pairs of denim jeans
3. A few pairs of trousers - the comfy baggy sort
4. A few t-shirts
5. Lots of tank tops - great for going out
6. Lots of jumpers/sweatshirts/hoodies
7. Skirts for going out - a line Skirts are comfy for lectures
8. Think about the climate of the city!!
9. People don't just wear Leggings and jumpers...u can put in effort to ur outfits too!!
10. Pajamas: shorts and an old comfy shirt...also buy a pajama jumper and trousers for when it gets cold
11. Jackets: teddy bear jackets and denim jackets...buy hooded jackets for when it rains!!
12. Shoes: plain white pair...don't bring too many...ull be walking a lot so make sure they're comfy
13. Tote bag great for shopping and a kanken
14. Bring any fancy dress things u have lying around for different themes
Top tips:
15. Don't bring things u don't wear at home
16. Don't bring uncomfortable things/ things that make u feel uncomfortable
17. Bring a few of each thing, not to many of 1 type

A recommendation from me is slippers/sliders 😫 so annoying having to walk through other peoples mess in the corridors/kitchen/communal bathroom areas so to save yourself the hassle of putting on proper shoes each time you need to do something outside your room (also this includes fire drills - my accommodation last year had a track record for them) you’ll appreciate how quick and easy it is to throw slippers/sliders on instead 🙋🏻

u don't need heels!!
Literally wore heels for maybe 5 mins of pre's in the entire year before taking them off and wearing trainers. This was freshers ball too, so don't listen to other people and check with the organisers on the dress code x
love this concept! i'd say smaller bags for nights out or going places where you don't need books/laptop are also great! x
loved this video! one thing I'd say though, if you have any extra cool/out there/funky items of clothing you didn't feel confident enough to wear in high school, defo bring them to uni! You might feel confident enough to wear them in a group of new people

Lol: opposite with Artistic courses, my advice is bring all your most out there and not necessarily comfy outfits as everyone goes all out 😭😂
im glad lol, i'm planning on taking an art course (hopefully) and i was a teensy bit worried about being overdressed

definitely bring some formal wear for balls / formal dinners, i.e. long dresses, suits etc !!
This video was more helpfull than I expected. The little tidbits of insight like worrying about being too dressy but actually everyone else also dresses up. And now it can get hot even in the winterl. Truly helpful. Great video! ❤️ And I loved that you showed us some of your pieces too!
loved this video! i just finished first year and I would recommend bringing a bag for going out/clubbing like a clutch bag or bum bag! i completely forgot to bring that when i went and had to buy a new one for freshers, otherwise u might lose your phone easily if you just carry it x

Dresses and skirts are so important, if you have ones that can be layered and dressed down or up are prefect for uni, as you can wear them on a night out, to a lecture, or look nice in winter when you layer : D

I would say definitely take into consideration wardrobe/storage space! I took SO many jumpers (I live in them) but storing them was a NIGHTMARE and took up all my storage space😅

Love this! I defo did the same and took way too many clothes in first year 😂 I’d also recommend bringing one or two nice dresses for balls/fancier events if your uni or society have them! (Also congrats on 30K, you’re growing so quickly woo 🎉) xxx

I don't own a lot because I don't have very much space and also because I went through everything I own about a year ago and got rid of everything I don't need (forced but oh well). But I'm getting kicked out as soon as I go to university so I have to take everything with me. And that sounds like a lot to take but it's kinda sad to mention that I own less than a lot of people take with them to university anyway so I'm just going to erase any trace of me at the house (not an issue, my family is toxic af) and pay for a longer let in uni accommodation so I can stay for the holidays too (because I won't have anywhere to go lmao). But yeah I'm watching this like 'I need leggings so bad omlllllll' 🤣

For Edinburgh I would recommend a jacket thats waterproof otherwise bring a brolly!

Lucy Newman i would say no! unless you want to do a proper job while you’re there or interviews xx
If you plan on going to any job fairs on campus, you'll need one! It's also good to have one later in college if you get inducted into an honor society or anything like that :)
Blazers are a bit more appropriate for your upper class years when you’ll be applying to more “sophisticated” internships and jobs, as well as giving presentations to partners for your thesis your senior year (if you do a thesis). But as a lower class man you won’t have really any need for one outside of personal style
