Outsider looking in: Jen was ready for a full lifetime with Jesse, so she gave her ALL. Jesse needed to grow as a human, as a man. He's now left feeling guilt for not realizing that she was THE ONE earlier. Even if they got together now, Jen would be so closed off to protect her heart and soul, where Jess would give 110% right away. It's extremely hard to bounce back after already giving your soul to someone you invisioned your life with. Once they strip that away, it's even harder to accept fate.

She did not deserve that and he knows it, so that is heavy on his heart and wants to make sure she is happy cause he couldn't make her happy. It's not an easy position to be in to carry the weight of breaking the heart of a person as beautiful as Jenn.

I think the babe slip, is more about how the brain forms neural pathways. The more you do something the stronger and faster the pathway works. So that pathway of getting Jen's attention is still there. If Jesse is interacting with a lot, but needs Jen's attention, the action of saying "Babe" is still probably the strongest. You can tell Jesse feels so much pain and guilt for what he did to Jen. I don’t think there’s anything worse than to leave a women after 10 years together when she’s 33 years old. She planned her entire life around being with him and then he just left her. I don’t think he’ll ever really understand what that does to a women but he does have a HUGE amount of guilt for that. That’s why he just wants to see her happy, make sure she has a community around her, and even told her to freeze her eggs. I can tell Jen is such an amazing person and partner…it’s so sad that she had to learn how to be selfish after Jesse left her because she literally gave him the world. I’m sure Jesse already knows he’ll never find someone like that again. Jesse lost the realist love there ever is and unfortunately now Jen has lost a lot of herself because she’s scared to be that person again to someone else but I’m 100% Jen will find her soul mate!!

I don’t know why, but I really felt that look from Jesse at 10:03. I feel like there’s a little bit of a gut punch hearing an ex you still have feelings for saying the words “I’m single” out loud. It’s like a weird abstract realization because realistically you know you’re not together, but being around them and talking to them, you kind of fall back into it for a second. Then you hear that and there’s a sudden snap back to reality and you just kinda go “damn...”

Man coming from someone who has tried to stay connected with my ex. It’s almost impossible to truly move on and heal when they’re in your life. It makes it difficult to move on. I think a lot of people convince themselves they can stay friends but someone deep down always still has feelings and you can tell Jesse still does. It’s almost torturous to stay friends but it’s the only way to still have them in your life. It’s not a fun place to be in.
