“My fantasy of playing America oooo oil” seems fitting
I've never heard a more accurate impression.
All you need is some guns.
Surveyor: Sir, the local fish are severely deformed because of our oil.
Business Tycoon: Oh just label it as a new species and sell it to the Chinese.
This seems too real to be a joke...
this didn't age well lmao, since the corona virus originated from a fish market in china
@@richraah9590 on the contrary it aged quite well lmfao
fun fact: chinese companies sell rice made out of plastic... obviously its illegal but they find ways to do it anyways

It's true, after watching Spiffing not only did my my life quality increased by 18,000% but my britishness inceased by 20% as well. So grow a pear and subscribe.
Can I just buy a pear instead?
but if you start growing them, you can start selling them for profit later
@@PeterButchens That sounds tearrific.
but if you buy them, you can ship them and take advantage of the price difference. @@PeterButchens

You made my day. Thank you so much for making content like this!
Wow
Rise of Industry console port?
This game reminds me so much of Industry Giant 1 and 2, i loved this game. Brings back the feels of the old 90s Tycoon games. Nice work :)
5:55 Destroy the road, build one that goes around them, press enter for victory. Oh and about the iron mine, what about "Iron Mane"?
2:15 "Who doesn't like a bit of oily fish?!" The most British comment from esteemed Mr. Spiffy so far.
I wanna petition spiff to revisit this gem
*Spiffing Brit*
*America*
Really makes you think....
I can guarantee as a watcher of the spiffing brit that my life has improved by 200,000%
4:55. "The solution *to* you"
Not *for* you?
He plans to get rid of us!
I knew it!
Ah yes, the traditional British meal, fish and coke.
I'm glad you're enjoying the game, I personally can't deal with this interface. I want to *draw* my routes and supply chains instead of clicking through enless lists, to have all the +/- butons on the screen to easily manage vehicles, it's just... frustrating. I really wanted to like it.
"Single-most British channel on youtube" l see you haven't encountered Lindybeige yet
Huzzar!
Oh my goodness, I can't believe that Spiff was willing to forsake the God's drink of tea for alcomahol..... was it really him?
I’ll be honest spiffing
I really just listen to the butter and honey that is you voice.
Since I watch your Videos I always give 110% in math, thanks for those great interlectual Videos
As an American, the intro got me rather excited.
Then I saw the oil and I became very excited.
Has British accent but has American mind who also so happens to be addicted to Yorkshire tea.
>Spiff ditching teas to create apple ciders
😱
I feel my quality of life improving every video you put out. Maybe it's the encouragement to drink ever-increasing amounts of tea?
I feel like such a weeaboo for recognizing the character from the thumbnail. That's Kaneo Takarada from Kill La Kill.
I've actually decided to make some tea in order to watch your video. Now I need a portrait of the Queen and I'll be all set.
The one time I have a cup of tea it’s about America
1:52 *America Joins The Chat* We might have to invade ourselves

What a cultured thumbnail! I guess you are my pogchamp, Spiff.

Fish Oil Tycoon. My favorite game 😀
when you think that spiff is making free advertisement, but then you notice that the guy talking doesn't have an ironic tone...
Welcome to America. Dump that tea in the sea and fill up your cup with oil
Black gold. Texas TEA! Good to see more games with tea in it.
I've liked and subscribed now just waiting for my quality of life to improve

Yeah thanks youtube, a video from spiff two years ago.
*Time to rewatch it two years after I watched it*
When you revisit an old Spiff video, but you can't find any mentions of either TEA nor THE QUEEN!? And Spiff sounds suspiciously speeded... on coffee.

I like how the thumbnail is from Kill la Kill
ITS NOT SLAVERY IF YOU SAID IT WAS CAPITALISM
And it’s not a war crime if u call it fascism
@@josvoi2854 How is labor any less forced in capitalism?
@@lucabaumert7764 because under capitalism the contract that requires labor of a laborer must be entered into willingly by the laborer or requires the laborer to have conditions that make the laborer need to take a contract. A need must be met by both parties and if one side is not satisfied with the other's performance the company may fire the laborer or the laberor may go to a union to attempt to negotiate with the company. The system is far from perfect of course, but it's proven to be better than most anything else we've tried.
What system would you suggest be used other than capitalism?
@@prathia8699 Unions have historically long abandoned the side of the laborer. Wage disparity is as high as never before. I think that it's a pretty fucking shitty system.

Civ 1: set 'end of turn' on, and you can finish all build orders settlers had started. After taking an enemy city the enemy will always propose peace, which can be broken again once your catapults made it to the next city. City walls can be a nuisance, but you take them down using diplomats (sabotage... the pen is mightier than the sword). Infinite City Sprawl means you can build all your cities one next to the other, so you don't need to build many roads and you can defend them with only one unit per three cities. I recommend playing as the Russians on earth, with as mandatory opponent the Zulu. The Russians like their tea, Kusmi tea...
Civ1 also allows you to build railroads on ocean tiles… effectively increasing trade from that tile… they don't support trains, though… probably not built according to Isembard Kingdom Brunel's standards.
Another little exploit, although I consider that one rather fair... caravans add 50 production to a wonder being produced, so you let a city produce a wonder, put in two caravans, and then change the production to a bomber or a tank... that means that 20 cities with production of 10 can produce 20 caravans after 5 turns, then effectively helping 10 cities to build 4 bombers... otherwise you only get your 20 bombers after 15 turns…
The same tactic works well with building manufacturing plants in cities. Start with one... that one then immediately adds to the total production capacity of your empire...
This game reminds me a lot of OpenTTD.
reminds me a lot of open TTD

i not going to lie i was in a dark place before i found the spiffing brit but now im almost out of it maybe more rimworld would fix that.

Not gonna lie I thought this was gonna be a history video or something like that on oil and america
chuck ALL THE TEA!!

Hmm, poking fun at our glorious capitalist ways, then dedicating factors of production to Democrats and Socialists, then being surprised when the game throws a hurricane at you specifically to diminish your efforts with the glass and smelters facility you just built? If anything it seems like the game picked up on your Socialist tendencies and decided "No Socialists shall dare mock our glorious Capitalism without paying the price." Also it would have been more on the nose if you decided to name your British-run American-based oil rigs "BP Disaster 2: Oily Boogaloo."
It's accurate then to how capitalism works. Any uprising of socialism must be crushed, any expansion of workers' rights and of people's economic freedoms is a direct threat to capitalism, especially this late in its life cycle.
@@pumpkinpartysystem socialism always fails on its own, leaving their people starving and dead. Capitalism has been constantly making workers life better and raising living standards of the poor. Get a clue, read an economics book.
Mindless Scribbles While you have a point, there needs to be a system of checks on those exploiting their workers. As a Liberal, I'm all for working for what you have and not relying on handouts, BUT employers must pay a wage which someone can afford to survive for their work.
Think of it this way, Walmarts cost an average of $490,000 in government subsidies PER STORE. On top of that, most towns they build a store in become devoid of mom and pop stores due to the cheaper prices and corporate bail-outs afforded by the Walmart franchise.
As for your idea of Socialism having never worked, the Scandinavian style has yet to fail, whereas most Socialist nations become that due to the actions of Capitalist policy (ie. Disproportionately taxing the poor and rich, homelessness due to unavoidable housing, etc.) Also, realize both the CBO and Koch Brothers research study came back that Single-Payer would actually cost the US $2 TRILLION less than our current Insurance system.
I'll agree, I don't want to see the US resort to full-on Venezuelan Socialism, but if it's a choice of that or Industrial Age Capitalism for the sake of the nation, I'll vote for Socialism every time.
Mindless Scribbles Mindless Scribbles I referred to the Scandinavian format as a "style" of Socialism due to the portrayal given by Fox and most Conservative outlet. I agree with your (and their own) assessment of their being "a Capitalist society with a robust social system."
As for my "Industrial Revolution Capitalism" remark, it is because that time in history showed Capitalism to be the most beneficial form of economics, despite the MAJOR abuse by those providing employment.
Do you know any purely "Capitalist" societies that have stood the rest of time without revolts?
