Very in-depth review, thanks so much!
Insights you showed tipped my buy towards the MKE (had initially planned to get NTG4, not the plus - which is slightly cheaper than both the MKE and NTG4+).
One thing I would have loved to hear; how the pickup changes by increasing the distance *in-doors* (out door demo was good, but in-doors I fear you'll have other characteristics based on reverberation). I plan to use this to record in a room with a bit limited audio treatment, while I have to keep a minimum distance from the audio source.

One question I do have, if you have a moment, when using the MKE 600 with my camera for video be it indoors of outdoors for nature (but on camera/close to camera) is it better (does it make a difference) if I use the supplied XLR to 3.5mm jack straight into the camera (using the cameras probably basic pre amp - I am assuming that's what happens - light on knowledge here!) or where possible will I see a benefit connecting the MKE 600 via XLR straight into my TASCAM Portacapture X8 XLR port? I really enjoyed your video. I am about to buy the Sennheiser and I would like to ask how good it is at isolating external noise in terms of doors opening/closing and also sounds like water drains in the pipes within the studio.
I'm specifically asking for this because even though we have a Rode microphone that captures the voice really well, it doesn't insulate against these noises ( our room has sound deading foam around the chair where we sit and talk, also curtains for sound proofing and is really silent.
We also tested with a Thomann microphone ( podcast like ) which is really good at isolating everything but it's not that good capturing the tone of the voice as we want.
Thank you so much for your input!!!

FINALLY! I've found the best comparison in my opinion. There are plenty of reviews and comparison but all of them compare only the voice. I'm interested in how the mics perform for foleys and sound design. No one make a demo of this kind. Thank you! You gained a subscriber!
BTW I think the Sennheiser is the winner. More clarity, slightly pronounced bass but not so much to became boomy. NTG4+ is more boxy, but maybe has much more rejection on the sides.
The worse maybe is the lav, but that's an omni so it takes all the room sounds.

Since the MKE 600 has the option of being battery powered or phantom powered, you can absolutely use to with an iPhone. You’ll need two things for you gear bag: KA 600i cable ($20, XLR Female to 3.5 mm TRRS) and an Apple Lighting to Headphone adapter ($9)... add FilMic Pro onto your phone to shoot and LumaFusion to edit and you have a really powerful mobile setup for any application.
