I think Danny is sort of extra compelling a character to me owing to that cancer he overcame, not to mention that devastating knockout by Pirog a while back. To come back from those kinds of challenges and still excel as he does, all while still have a first-class mind and first-class basic decency, ... if I have kids one day I will hope they can be a bit like Danny in these ways. Only other guy I can think of who's (almost) this impressive even after years of punishment is the great Marvin Hagler.

I come from an upperclassman family and I love boxing. I'm 22-3 as my pro record starting off my first 3 fights as a loss. I wanted to give up so bad. I told myself I dont even need the money. My parents already told me they would pay for my college and help me out. I'm 20 years old and I took 3 losses in 1 year. I was mentally damaged. I decided I didnt want to lose. I love the sport and I love the glory of stepping into the ring after a hard training camp. I decided I didnt even need to win. I just wanted to box my heart out. My coach told me in my 4th fight he knew I never went home tired. He told me I didnt put in my all. After that I've given my all out in the ring and havent lost since. You dont have to be hungry to box and be successful as a boxer. You're wealth does not need to come from boxing for you to give it your all. It's the love of the sport that drives you. I have no reason to risk my life to box. I have a big house, nice car, amazing family, and money. Boxing is my passion and I will never quit until I physically camt compete. VIVA MEXICO!
