  • There are variations on how to work twist stitches - this is the method I found to look the best.
    Timestamp below:
    Right Twist: 0.49
    Left Twist: 1:50
    Instructions
    Right Twist: knit-2-together but leave the stitches on the left needle, knit again through the first stitch, drop both stitches off the needle.
    Left Twist: slip 2 stitches one at a time as if to knit, return both stitches to left needle. Knit the second stitch through the back loop and leave on needle, knit-2-together through the back loop and slip off the left needle.

      Glad it was helpful! I didn't have any fancy camera work actually. Just an iphone balanced on an oven rack situated in a well lit area of the apartment...

      Oh, thanks so much! I do think most knitters figure out little tricks like this. I hope to share more in the future.

    For some strange reason, I had completely forgotten about 1/2 turning for the left lean.... 40-/+ years and I NOW am smacking my head.

    THANK YOU!!!!! I have been looking for this exactly! Could you show the back of the work?? Also, could this stitch be used in a horizontal? Or would there be another stitch that would resemble this in a horizontal?? I wanted to use this stitch for a honeycomb pattern… Love from MN❤️

      I just sent responded to your email (sorry for such a delay!). The pattern was put on hold as I took a LONG hiatus from all knitting-related things. However, I am back to it, and the pattern for the cabled jumper should be out in November 2020 in my Ravelry shop.

    Excellent tutorial. I have found, being left-handed, the twists are reversed for me so all I need to do is remember that when instructions read LT I need to do a RT, etc. Thank you!

    This totally helped me. The written directions are hard to visualize. Did you create the off-white turtleneck sweater you are wearing? Was it a purchased pattern? Is the pattern available?

    You only explain how to do it on one side of the work. Please explain how to do it on the reverse side? Thank You; I can't find any who will explain that; it's as if they forget that you must purl from the back side to retain the Knit twists on the front side...i assume...but I don't even know how to approach the question to find the. I hope someone will understand what I mean and explain. There is a Right side and a Wrong side of every knit fabric

    • @katarinakopunekova
      @katarinakopunekova Před 5 lety +3

      the wrong side is all purls. the twisted stitches are only visible from the right side of work.

    • @YvonneYFeng
      @YvonneYFeng Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, Katarina already responded, and she is right -- wrong side should be all straight purls as the action of the cross-over is done all on the right side of work. Sorry that wasn't more clear. I will keep that in mind for future videos.
