- Holy pickles were not in the shop. Today I wanted to show you some of my everyday adventures. Just because the name says transmission doesn't mean we can't do or don't do more.
This customer has been a long time family friend and we're happy to help keep his truck rolling down the road whether it's an ignition lock cylinder replacement or a whole new trans were going to keep him going. I personally feel this way about all of my customers I want each one to know how much we appreciate taking care of their family.
Check back soon for more videos of all kinds of shinanigins in the shop. Thank you for watching our videos. Feel free to check out our Facebook page as well at the link below. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Thank you, sir, for making this video. It was extremely helpful because my manual wasn't so clear, especially on how all those little parts fit together and come apart. That's the power of the internet: two years later and this video is still helping people.
Great customer service When you are in business you go the extra mile to help your customers/ friends
Thanks for the video! Just a little tip for the diyers like myself. The little two pronged switch didn't want to go back in for me. It kept getting stopped by a plastic tab on the lock cylinder. The tab moved real easy. I used a zip tie to hold pressure on the tab(like I would a screwdriver).
Its your channel put whatever videos you want. Don't apologize for making good videos.
Lol thank you
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 what was the fix to the broken piece?
I just happened to have a few steering columns out back and was able to rob a non broken one out of one. GM laughed at me when I asked for a new one.
Great camera angle.. only surpassed by list of tool list and best of all..the great chatter
Great, well executed video! Working on my own truck and this is today's task.
how did it go?
Thanks for the video. It’s good to see people step outside of their normal zone and do a video. I call it ignition switch too.
I'm glad you are making this I'm having the same exact problem and you're the only one with the video like this
Thank you sir! Very helpful video, all I had to do was watch it twice and I called a roll back to let my mechanic do it instead
😂😂😂😂😂
Man you are awesome keep up the good work
Thanks for the video!
Great video! I like the comedy!
Thank you were trying to remind everyone that just because the problem is serious doesn't mean you can't have fun fixing it. Plus I really love doing what I do.
Man you made that look so easy
Good job!!
Thanks I appreciate it
Nice video, thanks.
Thank you for the video as I’m one of them that didn’t know how to do that.
That's what we're here for glad to have been able to make the video
Awesome video David 1994 Chevy truck I like them older ones am 1995 k1500 4x4
Indiana is almost 100 degrees with nascar and Indy car at the 500 this weekend
Saved it to my Facebook in case I have to do same
If ya don't know how...practice at a salvage yard
Mater of fact I think I will get some of those parts at my salvage yard box it up as 1995 stock ignition parts
Thank you Man.
Thanks for sharing
I did pull a mint condition steering wheel off a 1993 Yukon for my 1976 GMC Motorhome. Same process.
thank you dude
What is that little white piece with the two copper end pieces, that broke called? Asking for a friend, and NOT because I broke mine in the process. Is it necessary for the ignition to work? Great video btw. Helped immensely.
Did you ever find that part, mines was missing from my steering wheel when I replaced my ignition switch, it wasn’t there, and still have problems with the switch, not starting.
done that but what about that model truck , stuck in park ? I have a 93 , 5.7 350 as well...the shifter moves normal and linkage all moving so it is some internal hairball
I was a head mechanic at aamco transmissions and I'm a mobile mechanic now
The while kit not being junk but it def sucks thing made me laugh out loud man thanks..
Heck yeah
you do have a nice shop, and you do good work, ... One of the big builders on CZcams uses an impact to install their "famous" valve bodies 😁😂
Keep doin you man! Good stuff 😎
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. We're gonna keep it up for sure
Could I do this if I lost my truck keys? And I just buy key/cylinder kit? And do this myself?
this is for a tumbler... not the switch which is behind the tumbler... got a video for that?
I like that dodge in the back ground.
You should see that dodge now it's missing the whole inside stuff
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 your next video?
I've got one coming next already but I'll do a spotlight just for you and this absolutely gorgeous milk cow chaser
11:00 “im a slow screwer” … me too bro. Me too.
What is the name or part number of that plastic clip that was broken. Mine is broken too and i cant find it anywhere besides a junkyard
Did you ever fine out what that part number is and what it does in the ignition process
The channel is growing!! Keep it up man!
Thank you I appreciate it. We're trying to get it somewhere
I replaced the ignition cylinder on 1993 s10 followed the instructions but now my flashers stay on ?
For those of you who don’t have a puller just smack the side and rattle it and it will come off no problem
I'm about to do the same thing to my 91 because my ignition is stuck on also. What's the name of that copper pin piece you removed that broke next to the ignition cylinder? Just in case mine is broken also
Mine did break and have no idea wtf it’s called.
Mine also broke, no idea what it's called or how to look up a replacement part.
I think it’s called TURN SIGNAL CANCELLING CAM
Helped me fix my 91 suburban that I just bought that had no key at all ignition was so bad it would start with out key I didn't like that
I can't get mine to go back together so that's cool lol
Did the same to my 1994 pickup. After replacement, my battery drains at 5.6 volts and ruins the battery unless I remove the negative cable. Any recommendations?
Did you ever find solution? I have the same issue. Thanks
My battery drains and one by one everything died got new alternator and battery then it worked....now my ex put battery on after jumping a car and he hit something metal a few times and smoke came out engine where red battery box is fried wiring then made a new wire fix it... Nope just cranks won't start .bought new regulator. Computer won't read for diagnostics test .stripped screw on computer . Electrical machanic says if it breaks he needs my permission to remove it to check things out...please help I got a fuel pump fuel filter. I dropped tank and did hoses right .got them white and silver little screw things all 8 out another truck at pick n pull ,my son works hard two jobs goes to school, prom coming up ,graduation, passing his test to join the Marines like he's wanted since 5 yrs old....all I want to do is get my 2004 Chevy avalanche working and a little sprused up so I've gotten under cars in engines to pull parts given my money to lying mechanic shopes and at end of my rope can't find trusting folks except for your vids I'm more at ease thanks
At 8:03 that plastic piece that he broke, was missing in my steering wheel, does anyone know how to find that part, i replaced the ignition switch but still have problems with it coming loose and it just spins doesn’t make contact truck no start
That is the lock cylinder, not the ignition switch.
Right!
I know ! All the people misleading me in the titles !
He's a Joe Biden loving gun banning clown.
Everyone: Boo this man!
I learned something today🤣🤣 no shame
🤔that does not look like a 6l80 😉
Good job on that.
Lol you sir are correct lol I've got some fun videos coming very soon for you 😜
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 you killed that swap in less then 20 mins. You the man buddy
That’s the ignition lock cylinder not ignition switch
Is this same for 93 astrovan
I have the skills but not the tools. How much should it cost to have someone replace my switch? Been getting quotes of $300.00+ to replace a $35.00 part.
That's the ignition lock cylinder the ignition switches down further
I'm using your video so my friend doesn't make fun of me
Not sure if anyone will ever reply to this, but i am hopeful if so its soon. my 94 gmc k1500s ignition cylinder is loose, its seems the gearing and action behind the cylinder is broke and or loose. if anyone knows of a website/diagram/video that would help me out please let me know! thanks in advance everyone.
Why do I feel like he didn't go get the torque wrench 😂
So it's a six pack job.
You ain't lived until you have to tighten the loose bolts for the tilt steering 🤔
Bahahhahahahha such a fun experience 🤣🤣🤣
2😂
Why do people call these ignition switches. It is NOT a ignition switch. It a lock cylinder. The ignition switch is under the dash mounted on the column…
If your replacing lock cylinder then just say so. The ignition switch is on the column under the dash!
guess what I am doing today truck tried starting by itself
Great camera angle.. only surpassed by list of tool list and best of all..the great chatter
