    That was great - tightly cropped scenes, often framed with those lovely trees, make it easy to get immersed in the action - and the sound is so good too 👋Thanks.

    Of all the model layout videos on CZcams, yours are by far the best. The detail is amazing, and the weathering is just right. The V2 taking off at the beginning was perfect, with the wheel slip as it started gathering speed. Sadly, a lot of model locos have problems with crawl speeds. Love your attention to the tiniest details. Thanks for the entertainment.

    Morning Lewis, that was lovely, as we've come to expect so smooth, so atmospheric, everything the sounds, and sights we could be there, I can almost smell it. It's a measure of the filming that we can't see any extras like edges of the base boards or passed the sky to see the walls or roof, this is part of what makes it so real. I was on my local Dart valley railway at kingwear watching the engine uncouple from the front and move around to the rear to pull the train back to Paignton and I thought of you, that sequence was perfect. They did almost as well as you!! Thank you Lewis, looking forward to the next story, Eddy xx

    Nice mix of engines ! I've just run my own BR 4 V2, same as yours, last Saturday for a test run of brand new wagons. Nice to have put a 2-6-4T and a diesel for variety, that's a nice touch.

    The English Summer is rather lovely but the firemen on the YDR always preferred cool sunny winter days. They’d be happy to take two more behind a V2 any time of year. The record for a V2 on the YDR was fifteen (a troop train in 1944). They were coming for Operation Green Valley.

    It would be much better if you panned round with the camera. That way the video isn't cluttered with too many tightly cropped scenes. Time you ditched those. Steam engines can cause lineside fires in Summertime heat. You may have to bring in a few more stinky diesels, which don't give off sparks. Sparks from a steam engine's funnel can easily set the dry grasses alight. Steam engines and Summertime heat don't mix very well.😉

  • @_RandomPea
    @_RandomPea Před 2 lety +2

    Just can't get head round how real your Yorkshire dales looks, something just stands out compared to other layouts. Also like how you mix the sounds, question... Do you match the scene with sounds or do the sounds drive your scene?

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! I film the video first then match the sounds up after. I have enough clips that I usual have something that matches!

      @@MouldyRaspberry just caught your interview on New junction in my feed.... Can't believe you made the dry stone walls from cat litter! How on earth did you think that up 🤔😅 looks great!
      Is YDR all DCC... I noted you didn't do anything with the points either, when the kids are a bit older I no doubt will clear out my attic and try to emulate something like this.

    Question for you... when you are running the original layout, do you operate much or just like to watch the trains roll by?

    • @MouldyRaspberry

      The main layout is an 80 foot loop. The Misselthwaite section is an additional 16 foot scenic section.
