- Pick Up Goods - The Yorkshire Dales Model Railway
Two locomotives are out on the line today. A BR Standard 4MT handles the local pick up goods, whilst a Ivatt 4MT passes in the opposite direction at Pondon Station with a six coach passenger train.

As always, thanks for watching.
Not only is your layout unique but so is the way you present your layout and trains.
Thank you 😀
This railway is simply a masterpiece! I can think of no other model which captivates me so much!
Thanks John 😀
Who needs full size steam when you have the real thing right here!! Thanks Mr R.
Thanks Bob!
Every new video here just confirms my opinion that this is railway modelling at its very finest. Wonderful stuff!
Thanks Gary!
You just gotta love how each wagon rocks, bumps and bounces around in its own little way as the whole trains trundles along. Loads of character in these rattling old mixed goods trains.
Mike.
Thanks Mike - I think so too.
I run out of superlatives to describe the joy the Yorkshire Dales Railway gives me. It is a masterpiece without doubt. Can watch this all day.
Thanks Dave, appreciate it.
Puts a smile on my face every time.
Glad you liked it Dave!
Ahh, I love all the running videos on your layout, but I do love your goods train videos the most.
Thank you 😀
I can only imagine the work you put in to match the visuals to the soundtrack, not to mention your modelling skills are superb, the rolling stock is weathered perfectly, I have often thought how much more effort it would take to add realistic virtual smoke and perhaps the odd virtual figure moving on a platform or in the yard?
Well done. Some of the best rolling stock and engine weathering I have seen. That with the diorama focusing makes for great viewing.
Thank you!
Lewis, a joy as ever in these troubled times. Some lovely close up shots in the latest video showing your eye for meticulous detail. Oh to escape to the Yorkshire Dales in the halcyon, long ago days
Thank you James! 😀
A beautiful, wonderful and magnificent creation. Joyful.
Thank you 😀
You are most welcome. It is art of the finest kind.
It’s the ‘authentic speeds’ that so so impress me and the attention to the background…..as well as the trains.
You are a Master Craftsman Modeller!
Thanks Ross 😀
Mogul show today ! I'm also running a Mogul while watching this show, a BR 74 of the DB, with three Donnerbüchsen in tow. This week, great lineside view (the closeup on the freight train near the end is splendid) and my favorite color for british coaches : custard and cream. One of your top videos, in my opinion (more than the moguls !).
Thanks Olivier, glad you liked it!
Busy day Mr Mouldy. Love the Ivatt. Cheers.
Thanks John 👍🏻
Hi Lewis, a very interesting and enjoyable video, with some new camera angles thrown in. This one is a keeper. Thanks for posting. Cheers Greg
Thanks Greg!
Realistic trains in realistic scenery!
Thank you 👍🏻
Toujours aussi beau ce réseau ferroviaire. On ne se lasse pas de visionner vos vidéos où l’on découvre toujours une multitude de détails qui font tout le charme de cette très belle maquette. Grand merci ! 👍🙏
A very good video. Thank you Lewis.
Thanks David 👍🏻
Another Great story and video 📹 from young man
Thanks Cameron 👍🏻
You welcome
Excellent running session always amazing thankyou for the video
Thanks Mark 👍🏻
Wonderful new shot-angles giving added enjoyment of the evocative scenery and perspectives!
A suggestion about when showing a close-up shot of the engine positioning a wagon: if the camera lets us see only the tender or the rear of the engine, push the engine by hand enabling much better control of slowing stock. That way the problem of a jerking commutator, particularly Hornby (actually newer Rovex!) locos, can be avoided and give a more convincing deceleration and even better realism.
Great entertainment, thank you 👍👍
Thanks Robert 🤣
Very good video . The new viewpoints are great .
Thanks 👍🏻
Really like that angle at 6:08!
Thanks Matt 👍🏻
I can almost smell the steam and the soot. Thanks for my weekly fix👍
Thanks Stephen!
The click-ad-de clack of the wheels going over the track, the rumble and tumble of wagons way heavy on the track , the squeal of the breaks on a rather long rake all ads to make this video bloody well great. Well done Lewis and thank you.
Lots of interesting new camera angles. Putting us in the shoes of a very dedicated trainspotter, from pedestrian views to drone ones!👍
Thank you!
Thanks again Lewis ,another winner .Moguls earning there keep with different camera angels & different stock ,goods, passenger .Modelling our rail past .Keep up the enjoyable videos .
Very realistic and atmospheric. Could do with a bit more weathering on the goods wagon wheel assemblies but over all superb. Track work excellent.
Thanks Paul 👍🏻
I enjoyed the new views Good video again
Thank you 👍🏻
thanks for sharing, very well put together. filming brilliant
Thanks Lee 👍🏻
Nice goods train.
Thanks 👍🏻
@@MouldyRaspberry I have been trying to add to my BR mixed goods train recently so your video helped me.
Do, so much enjoy your videos Lewis!
Thanks for sharing!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Time and again I am surprised by the quality of the sound, it is so well fitted to the pictures 👌😀👍 ❗
Thank you 👍🏻
Flying pig 🐖 😍 great engines very unique looking and the bachmann model weathers up a treat.
Thanks 😀
After a few seconds my mind thinks I am looking at a full size railway .......and it is difficult to persuade me it is a model ! I think a lot of the illusion is that the colours you have used and the lighting is just like a sunny day in England . well done lewis
Great to see the other layout for a change.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
The stationmaster at Buckdale must be going crazy ❗ 19 cars and he only got 1 ❗Poor guy 😢
I guess it means there’s less for him to sort! 😀
Another great vid. The shot at Pondon that looked like it was taken from the over bridge was excellent. Thanks for posting
Regards
Jeff
Thanks Jeff!
Very nice Lewis. Most enjoyable ! Love these 4MT. All the best. Filip
Thanks Filip 👍🏻
First job - drop off goods! ;-) Excellent video as ever. Like the well lit overhead shot.
Thanks Davie 👍🏻
Truth and realism.
Thanks 😀
As always brilliant mate 👍💯👍
Thanks Dylan 👍🏻
I love the assortment of trains and jobs you put them on to go along with the types of wagons. Brilliant, Lewis. (ANd I think I am all caught up on videos now. Missed a bit with a month in the UK).
Old Bill won't be too pleased with your drone flying at 5.24!
Great video, Lewis! I think we would all love it if you would do a video on your camera equipment and how you film your videos and how you mix in the real train sounds. Please! All the best!
Thanks Greg! I’ve been meaning to do that for a while now, I need to crack on with it!
superb scenery and sound effects, though some of the Hornby type semaphores were a bit clunky.
Thank you. Yes they are a bit clunky, I’ve been meaning to replace those for ages but never got round to it.
Love it so beautiful 🤩
Thank you!
Good 👍
Thanks 👍🏻
Another thoroughly enjoyable video, Lewis, with some great new angles showing some more of your brilliant attention to detail. However, (and I’m almost ashamed to make any criticism of your brilliant railway) I must confess to wanting to come round with a file or some sandpaper and smooth out some of those platform edges! Do keep up the work.
Hi Lewis, thought the different camera angles were brilliant in the video, well done.
Thanks Barry 👍🏻
The scenery is fantastic but the telegraph poles need some attention.
Filmed from many interesting points of view (sorry for my poor Englsh...).
Thank you 😀
I thought it was real initially.
Wow thanks 😀
Aerial views! Shadows moving through the scenery. Good job!
Haven't seen the Ponden/ Buckdale of the layout in a while. Did I detect a new detail here and there in Yorkshire Dales?
While I detest the ugly Flying Pig, I love the Standard 4 Tender Engine. I'm still intrigued by her pick-up goods train. Considering the length of your railway, how many trucks do you use to make up that sort of train? Unless you've lost count, that is.😀
I think I’ve lost count! I do like to mix it up though 👍🏻
Bring back the mighty 9f please.
I’ve got the new Hornby version ordered! I think it’s meant to arrive in the autumn.
@@MouldyRaspberry it's my favourite locomotive of all time and your bachman model looks amazing
👍🏼👍🏼❤️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀
Hello. Klasse video 🎥🛤️🚂🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. Thanks........ Fim 🚂👮♂️✋
Thank you 😃
So, any word from the sheds if the infamous 'Driver Clarkson' is booked to take any runs down the line?
🤣 I’m sure it won’t be long!
Wouldn't it be good if you could simulate some wheel slip
Yes that would be good
Are you using a periscope lens? Very impressed!
Thanks! I film these on my iPhone.
Just briefly: I was a film/TV Lighting Cameraman in the 70/80s. The sort of pictures that you are producing were almost impossible in those days - particularly with Arriflex film cameras, which were as big as one half of a fridge - and weighed as much. A "mute" crew might have been from I to 4 people ( + an electrician or two), cost into the thousands - and we still couldn't have produced pictures as good as yours. That's all. Very impressed. A
