  • In this episode of House Build Philippines, we review the latest progress of the build. We're almost ready to pour the slab. We're also creating a plan for a Spring House.
And I think I scored about a 40% on guessing those fruit trees. If you're interested in seeing some cool construction work, and a little bit of fruit, then check out this video!

Hai Mickael nice progres. Some questions and tips for you. How thick is your slab going to be in cm? What is your concrete mix?
Tip; dont forget to put 5 cm spacers under the rebar for the slab. Always a thums up for you. Regards Jack

Nice progress, I see that you like Vigan City. Is your build anywhere close to it? Thanks for the update.

I don’t see any vapor barrier under that rebar. So any room running air conditioning will be sucking moisture up through the concrete slab resulting in wet floors and mold. Sure hope I’m wrong

Iv'e struggled with that question too. In my "Garage" project here I planned to use a barrier under the slab, but events got in the way and didn't use it. (I had grand plans for this floor, but they all didn't work out)
I do keep it as close to 72 degrees as I can 24/7 and havn't had any issues with moisture. I totally agree with your point though, especially for concrete work in colder climes north of Missouri, but I don't think they are used here in the Philippines much.

Yep & architects in RP live without A/C so have no experience. I used old billboard tarps, started under the stem walls & carried them 100% between the base and final rebar. Everyone humored the crazy American but tarped my floors! Also put solignum under the tarps, we’ll see haw the termites like that!
